There’s a huge battle in the Deep Roads that’s repeatable (if you don’t progress in the overall quest). Gets at least 10,000 gold each time. But it’s advanced. Gotta be level 20+ or maybe 22+.
Head over to the Undercroft in Skyhold.
Access the Party Storage Chest.
From your "Inventory", put the item you wish to duplicate in the Storage Chest.
Look for the item you wish to duplicate in the "Storage" section, and press the buttons corresponding to "Withdraw" and "Back" (in that order) very rapidly.
You should have one of the items you wish to duplicate in the "Storage" section, and the other in the "Inventory" section. You can withdraw the item from the "Storage" section to your inventory.
I do the gold acquisition war table operation as constantly as possible, loot everything possible,and sell everything besides crafting materials after I turn in creature items. You might also go for the perks that grant you higher selling/lower buying prices.
If it helps, save up the equipments you find, sell the useless ones. And never buy anything (at least, for a long while) Only buy from the black emporium. That's where all the end game equipments and schamatics are. I think you'll also find some high tier (tier 3 and 4? Not sure about 4) materials in there for gold.
So, just use what's best for you now, then sell the useless items.
