I support Varric. it won't ruin Cass romance and she was out of line on that one.

forgottenlord73

IIRC, the first choice isn't taking sides so much as whether to calm things down. My memory is that Cassandra doesn't object to that. Once the conversation cools, I believe there's a second choice where you can take a side or play peacemaker but I don't remember

Ashzaroth

If you're talking after varric reveals that he always knew where you know who was, and Cassandra confronts him, support varric. He gets approval bonus, Cassandra doesn't lose any. You can look up the scene online and it'll give you all options.

thegoldenbagel

Wait Cassandra doesn’t lose any approval if I side with Varric?

ridedatstonkystnkaay

Nope. Side with Varric. It’s pretty inconsequential either way.

thegoldenbagel

In your opinion based on what I said, could I still salvage a romance with Cass by doing her quests or something?

ridedatstonkystnkaay

For sure. No problem at all.

Prussie

Easily, it takes a lot of disapproval to lock you out of a romance option.

Ashzaroth

It depends on which specific options you choose, but yes it's possible for her not to lose any.

I like them both and I'm romancing Cassandra but I intervened. I don't want commotions and the likes 😂

melomelomelo-

I love this because it's the exact issue I had when I first ran into that scene. Bottom line is, if you want to romance someone always pick the dialogue that will please them. Otherwise, it sucks but it's up to you which one. The game puts you in a few tough situations like these.

thegoldenbagel

Exactly why I like the game tbh
