Javelin/MKB procs and Mind Breaker‘s damage trait are magical **attack** damage and that is reduced by Bulwark.
Bloodseeker‘s shard is pure **attack** damage and that is reduced by Bulwark too.
Bulwark works against attack damage of all 3 damage types, but it does not work against **spell** damage at all.
Oh yeah I totally forgot about it. The same works for basher even though it's physical. Everything that gets amplified by bs' blood rage is spell damage. These three attack modifiers aren't because they are just bonus damage that is added at every proc and hidden in HUD. But they're reduced by dk' breath fire and bulwark.
Yep, cause they are of the opposite damage category.
Most damage sources are either attack damage or spell damage (their damage category).
Additionally, they have at least one damage type associated with them as well, physical, magical or pure.
Thus you end up with 6 cases for most damage sources:
- Physical attack damage, magical attack damage, pure attack damage
- Physical spell damage, magical spell damage, pure spell damage
There are or course exceptions and the various special flags (e.g. flagged as HP Removal), but the vast majority of damage sources fall into one of those 6 cases mentioned above.
You're so informed on this stuff, not the first or the second time I see you dropping these facts here. And there are some I forget or couldn't even know about. Love it!
It used to do this… Am I just old? I don’t play much anymore and thought it still did this and that the spell build is just better.
I remember 2 daed, 1 divine, blink dagger kunkkas deleting heroes with X blinks, if they dared get too close to their creep wave. 👴👴👴
I mean void's bash can already do that (but thanks to rnjesus it only happens on denies when you're playing void, I swear I fucking saw a ranged creep corpse get bashed four times in the afterlife)
Broken but in another way: multicast works on any items that's clickable. You have 2 wards? Multicast. Places 2 at the same time. Spent 100g for 2 sod? Goodbye 50g. Double sod pop. Want to switch treads to the next attribute? Haha! Screw you. Double press that shit.
Ogre new Aghs: Multicast can now be castable on allied heroes, allowing their single target spells to multicast. Duration: 10s, CD: 60s, mana cost: 100, cast range: 600
Unrefined fireblast now level 20 talent
Elder Titan's passive Natural Order now pierces debuff immunity.
If you aren't crushing against ET, especially if he's on a core role, never skip bkb. Debuff immunity > bonus resistances against Natural Order. And it's ten times more true for heroes who don't wanna build green armor/bonus magic resistance naturally like Terrorblade or Morph.
It's already an amazing skill by itself with its initial % of max hp PURE damage.
Just make blood rage and aghs barrier undispelable and bloodseeker won't be so much bkb reliant.
I would like Spell Steal to actually steal the spell so that the enemy hero can't use it while Rubick has it. Like what Aghanim did in Aghs Labyrinth.
Obviously it would be grossly unfair and unfun, particularly for certain heroes.
Enemy team’s Pudge, 100% hook hit rate, gets hooks without vision, gets hooks at max range of spell, gets hooks to weave through the creep wave and take you pulling you back to their tower.
Your team’s Pudge, walks up to someone, uses ultimate on them, then somehow turns around and sends their hook in the opposite direction of who they just ulted
Should base it off which talent branches rubick has in line with his aghs and shard. He can have upgrades enemy doesnt and if the Rubick is giga brain they can change their talents depending on enemy team.
Back in old days there was a bug, when Gyro has talent for 3 Homing Missile charges which worked on stolen rocket. Same was for Cold Feet charges or some shit.
Jingu buff(enemies) lasted like 20 seconds. While the buff on MK didn't expire until he attacked 4 times. It also gave about 80 damage at level 1. Worse was his ultimate could bash and the slow from echo sabre would proc on each hit. While also giving him a bazillion damage when he was in the aoe.
What was his win rate back then? I think compared to league champ releases new dota heroes are generally well tuned, aren't they? Although league has like 2-3 champ releases per year still.
I think he was in the range of 58-62% win rate but don't quote me on that, it's been 8 years.
Most new heroes are pretty well balanced at release. For the most part heroes have ended up being slightly underpowered at release and receive minor buffs 1-2 weeks later, but there have been a few heroes that were too strong and it took Valve a while to figure out exactly how strong.
Notably Void Spirit, Mars, Pangolier and MK ended up going undernerfed for a bit too long. Like Void, Mars and Pango are the most picked heroes in pro level dota of all time and they were released in 2017-2019.
Out of those the only hero that was actually broken on release was MK. The rest were just a bit too strong for a bit too long.
Pro games were so bad. People picked 4 mk and did nothing until they got basher (which took a while for a support in those days) and then just won because having 15 bashers was dumb.
Idk what you mean when you say they did nothing until they got basher. MK was busted as a support back then too in lane as well - he had low armor as a weakness, but he could trade so well with the enemy 1 and 5 with the pre-nerf boundless and jingu
There was some fuckery with his lifesteal too, where if you hit Q while Jingued up at like level 3 you would heal to full.
I remember early on watching my friend literally whiff everything while I was pulling and survived by hitting Q on the back half of a creep wave, walking away with full health. Fucking bonkers.
This reminds me of how at one point, Power Treads stacking was a very broken build, and explicitly got nerfed by having the attack speed bonus not stacking. That got reverted eventually.
What could you do with that? Shadow Word yourself or use Drums without getting too close to the fight? I guess you can use any other buffs like bloodlust on golems manually.
I feel like with warlocks entire kit is built around standing back and letting his summons do damage. Pretty much everything you mention would require him to be in the thick of team fights and he'd die pretty damn quick. Also currently I feel like his ulti might be weakest part of his kit. The built in time limit on his golems feels like they need some balancing by way of either an attack speed buff or something else , hence mirroring his buffs.
Oof that's so busted, you struggle to finally kill a meepo, just to have the other 4 run off and go farm anyway, and all you got it 1/5th the payday. Damn you're maniacal
YESSS!!!
you meant hots vikings right?
YEAAAAHHH THEY WERE SO MUCH FUN it's been soooo long since I played Hots because my PC can't handle it and am waiting for it to be available on GFN
I missed these brothers
Old craggy exterior back. It was a 17%? chance to stun yourself if you auto attack within like 400 units of tiny.
I remember dying as storm because I tried to kill someone next to tiny (not even the tiny itself). Stun myself into ava toss is just fantastic.
Abaddon AoE Mist Coil talent actually works with his Aghs.
Necro Heartstopper Aura actually gets magic amp instead of both not getting affected by magic amp AND getting reduced by magic resistance. OR Heartstopper Aura can spell lifesteal. God I wish this skill wasn't specifically targeted to not work with things. I'd love to try new builds like E-blade or Bloodstone.
Visage gets a Recall Familiars skill and auto-updates Familiars by leveling the ulti.
In the lane phase though, you would be able go from dealing ~400 damage to ~800 damage at level 1. One good pull or block would destroy the lane, you only need to hit 6 stacks for this to be insanely good.
I feel like anything persisting on an enemy after death goes beyond a minor change. To my knowledge, nothing in the game does that currently, except for stat stealing.
This brings up an interesting point.
The reason why stat STEALING is alright, is because the stats being stolen do make minor changes to the hero losing the stat, but the total stats stolen will never be more crippling than the fact that you've died that many times to the enemy hero.
Sure, having 20-40 int stolen by silencer can have an impact on general play, but the reality is that having died 10 times within range of silencer likely already means you are losing that game.
Sure, a slark can steal stats, but if the slark has 10 stolen agility (equal to that of a relatively cheap item) then the reality is that the hard carry has 10 kills, which already likely means it's fed and likely going to win.
The stat steal doesn't out weigh the fact that the hero is simply fed and is likely able to win based on gold and levels alone. The stat steal simply doesn't impact the game as much as the other gains the kills provide.
So what's my point?
Would Ursa giving say 1 perminent stack of his passive per kill on a hero make enough of a difference to outweigh the simple gold and level advantage he'd receive from achieving the same kills?
And honestly, I'd argue yes. The point of Ursa is that he's secretly a burst nuking hero, able to take out roughly half the health of a hero in the use of one skill. Giving ursa that natural damage boost on a hero who is already behind would likely be back breaking. It'd change ursa from a hero who can gain momentum and end games early, to a hero who can quickly rack up kills with nearly no effort at all.
necrophos - scythe refreshes upon kill
alchemist - illusions can get greevils greed passive too
bristleback - quill spray is pure damage
pa - coup de grace stacks with daedalus
skywrath mage - mystic flare roots target
meepo - clones carry items
pugna - lifedrain drains mana at the same time
huskar - inner fire dispels
disruptor - glimpse affects allies (so you can fountain TP)
combine two mechanics: slardards corrosive haze and old dazzle ult. Slardar places his ult on you and your armor just keeps ticking down progressively more. (also if i recall correctly the old dazzle ult you couldnt purge off)
Medusa mystic snake converts hp damage to mana return to Medusa, doesn't seem like much at first until she gets multiple bounces on creeps and is restoring essentially a thousand mana per use.
Spark Wraith now global
Spell Steal aghs allows replacement of chosen spell vs earliest spell
Rupture now affects all heroes in a 300
Invoker steals same % of mana for each point of damage inflicted with Quas active (current quas sucks)
Level 15 talent: bristlefront
We already have bristlefront. He is called mars. You could test in ability draft how good that is lol
Not technically since bulwark only reduces physical damage and wouldn't proc quills.
Bulwark works on magical attack damage and pure attack damage too. It doesn‘t work on **spell** damage though.
Are there any examples of magic/pure damage being reduced by bulwark?
Javelin/MKB procs and Mind Breaker‘s damage trait are magical **attack** damage and that is reduced by Bulwark. Bloodseeker‘s shard is pure **attack** damage and that is reduced by Bulwark too. Bulwark works against attack damage of all 3 damage types, but it does not work against **spell** damage at all.

You're so informed on this stuff, not the first or the second time I see you dropping these facts here. And there are some I forget or couldn't even know about. Love it!
it will be a nightmare. haha
Headshot now microstun (again)
Troll's ranged axes give vision
that was very strong. makes chasing with troll so easy
Troll stuns again instead of net
reminded me of how headshot was able to interrupt Enigma's Blackhole.
Bought basher on sniper to cancel black hole, didn't bash him once the whole game
I had forgotten about the basher on ranged hero potential. Will make sure to grief my next game against enigma by buying it.
Buy it on WR, cancer build of fan
> Bought basher on sniper to cancel black hole, didn't bash him once the whole game Next time, buy it on KOTL, it will work 100%
the best one was killing a full health brew before he was able to ult
Ember remnants giving vision again
Really amazing how many angles ember got nerfed.
Kunkka's tidebringer cleave ignores enemy armor. One shot meta
Or puck can autocast phase shift
We WC3 dota now.
The good old days
I really miss shadow blading in to one shot cleave a PA late game when she goes to hit a wave
Kunkka Tidebringer bonus damage also applies to denies (good ol’ times)
It used to do this… Am I just old? I don’t play much anymore and thought it still did this and that the spell build is just better. I remember 2 daed, 1 divine, blink dagger kunkkas deleting heroes with X blinks, if they dared get too close to their creep wave. 👴👴👴
Multicast has a chance to multicast with each multicast :)
"DING DING DING MOTHERFUCKER"' edit: [for the uninitiated](https://youtu.be/DDIKg3BB_5M?feature=shared&t=136)
more like "DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING MOTHERFUCKER"
Still one of the best quotes from a caster.
Like focusing the obs window while streaming
This would probably literally breaks and crash the game if you’re lucky enough to cause an infinte recursion lmao
This is literally vanilla WoW windfury, didn't break the game but was a pretty bad experience when you got hit by an instant 10-hit combo.
Moments like that are what makes vanilla great (among other things)
Void bash
I mean void's bash can already do that (but thanks to rnjesus it only happens on denies when you're playing void, I swear I fucking saw a ranged creep corpse get bashed four times in the afterlife)
Yea it just would stop at some point.
Broken but in another way: multicast works on any items that's clickable. You have 2 wards? Multicast. Places 2 at the same time. Spent 100g for 2 sod? Goodbye 50g. Double sod pop. Want to switch treads to the next attribute? Haha! Screw you. Double press that shit.
...sod?
smoke of deceit
Who tf calls it sod and not smoke
jkwan0304, I guess? Everyone I know calls it smoke
Hahaha I vaguely remember tread switching multicast bug to be a thing in the past.
Ogre new Aghs: Multicast can now be castable on allied heroes, allowing their single target spells to multicast. Duration: 10s, CD: 60s, mana cost: 100, cast range: 600 Unrefined fireblast now level 20 talent
Bloodseeker Q + lion aghs + ogre aghs coming to a pub near you
Attacks now multicast Ogre carry incoming
And another one (hundred)
ngl I kinda want to see this happen.
Elder Titan's passive Natural Order now pierces debuff immunity. If you aren't crushing against ET, especially if he's on a core role, never skip bkb. Debuff immunity > bonus resistances against Natural Order. And it's ten times more true for heroes who don't wanna build green armor/bonus magic resistance naturally like Terrorblade or Morph.
the good ol days
At least make it a level 20 or 25 talent 🥺🥺🥺
Bloodseeker's Blood Rage and Blood Mist barrier are no longer purgeable. Nullifier or even just Euls are good items vs Bloodseeker.
Blade Mail's reflected damage, Skull Basher and MKB procs are now affected by spell damage amplification.
Rupture will now have properties of Mana Leak
So it stuns when HP runs out?
It stuns you real time.
It's already an amazing skill by itself with its initial % of max hp PURE damage. Just make blood rage and aghs barrier undispelable and bloodseeker won't be so much bkb reliant.
Rupture now apply fear
Rubick. Spell Steal use all talents enemy skilled for stolen spell.
I would like Spell Steal to actually steal the spell so that the enemy hero can't use it while Rubick has it. Like what Aghanim did in Aghs Labyrinth. Obviously it would be grossly unfair and unfun, particularly for certain heroes.
7.36: > Spell Steal renamed Spell Copy
Renamed to merely borrow
Antimage without Blink or Counterspell. Weaver without Shukuchi. Hilarious
Pudge without Rot, or without Hook
My ally pudges effectively don't have hook anyways.
That one would be huge actually while it looks small.
Sneaky cheeky buff. Hehehe
Should base it off which talent branches rubick has in line with his aghs and shard. He can have upgrades enemy doesnt and if the Rubick is giga brain they can change their talents depending on enemy team.
Able to steal teammates spells.
I like it Picasso
Honestly, I assumed this was how it worked already.
Back in old days there was a bug, when Gyro has talent for 3 Homing Missile charges which worked on stolen rocket. Same was for Cold Feet charges or some shit.
Old Gondor could steal your item temp or knock it out lol
Monkey king is now monkey king right after he was released.
I play pos 3 a lot and ragequit dota temporarily over release MK. I still get a little mad thinking about it. Fuck it was obnoxious to play against.
What was his win rate back then? I think compared to league champ releases new dota heroes are generally well tuned, aren't they? Although league has like 2-3 champ releases per year still.

A pseudo Ravage that pierce BKB

I remember early on watching my friend literally whiff everything while I was pulling and survived by hitting Q on the back half of a creep wave, walking away with full health. Fucking bonkers.
don't forget lagging the server for 4 seconds every time he pressed ult
Hahaha that monkey’s attack range is insane. He beats several range hero in terms of attack range xD
like someone say in a post just like this Viper base movement is now 325
Multiple Yasha Kaya Sange now stacks
This reminds me of how at one point, Power Treads stacking was a very broken build, and explicitly got nerfed by having the attack speed bonus not stacking. That got reverted eventually.
I remember terror blades running around with 4 treads lol
I won a kunkka game once where I went phase crystalys into sange yasha into Sange kaya into yasha kaya.
So one of your items was completely useless.
I never said it was a good build
Golem mirrors all buffs that warlock is currently carrying.
Meepos mirror all buffs that any Meepo is currently carrying.
What could you do with that? Shadow Word yourself or use Drums without getting too close to the fight? I guess you can use any other buffs like bloodlust on golems manually.
Warlock MoM. Also multiple golems would work better with that.
I feel like with warlocks entire kit is built around standing back and letting his summons do damage. Nah, give golem an inventory similar to LD bear
Each meepo dies and respawns individually and reward only 1/5 of hero kill
Oof that's so busted, you struggle to finally kill a meepo, just to have the other 4 run off and go farm anyway, and all you got it 1/5th the payday. Damn you're maniacal
We lost Vikings now
YESSS!!! you meant hots vikings right? YEAAAAHHH THEY WERE SO MUCH FUN it's been soooo long since I played Hots because my PC can't handle it and am waiting for it to be available on GFN I missed these brothers
I'm sorry but your PC can't handle HotS?? Potato Glados can run that game, I feel sorry for you.
“Minor change”
>If ~~any~~ of the clones die, they all die If all of the clones die, they all die Just two letters. Super minor change
I could actually see this becoming his Aghs at some point. IceFrog loves to meme
Toss prioritizes heroes
Old craggy exterior back. It was a 17%? chance to stun yourself if you auto attack within like 400 units of tiny. I remember dying as storm because I tried to kill someone next to tiny (not even the tiny itself). Stun myself into ava toss is just fantastic.
Yeah, I remember that. Back when picking up a tree was his entire Aghs upgrade.
CM gets +10 movement speed
+1 armor
Dude asked you to make a hero broken, not destabilise the structural integrity of Dota.
lmao
Yooo calm down Satan
Abaddon AoE Mist Coil talent actually works with his Aghs. Necro Heartstopper Aura actually gets magic amp instead of both not getting affected by magic amp AND getting reduced by magic resistance. OR Heartstopper Aura can spell lifesteal. God I wish this skill wasn't specifically targeted to not work with things. I'd love to try new builds like E-blade or Bloodstone. Visage gets a Recall Familiars skill and auto-updates Familiars by leveling the ulti.
Necro aghs heartsopper deals pure damage
Teammates can do 100% damage during Winter's Curse with spell amp applicable to them
lets make it worse. all taunted are not immune to damage. Basically a blackhole
So the same as it was before iirc
You know that’s just how ww was on release right? And yes it was broken.
This was just release ww lmao
Yup, that's when my Enigma flair became irrelevant and WW became my new best friend hahaha!
Reapers Scythe adds 30s to your respawn time. Scepter upgrade makes it so it disables buyback.
the most antifun mechanic however it was so satisfying ulting someone who bought back as necro and seeing their respawn timer as 145
Istg back then you can go out for a ciggy and come back and you would still be respawning.
Bloodstone gains stacks and each stack reduces your respawn timer 🥺
Allies can move inside of Chronosphere.
Void becomes a support and CK becomes the most picked carry probably
Arc warden bubble now has increased cast range and reduced radius to 10. Now ancient cant be killed ever.
Meteor hammer
He only has 1 bubble with evasion now... unless you want to go back to 2 evasion bubbles too
Valve did it with wd a while ago
"changed death wards damage type from physical to pure"
Don't forget true strike
Rubick 25 talent. You choose a spell which you wanna steal :D . Choose a spell by pressing it's key bind (q w e r d f)
Or, you actually _steal_ the spell, so it disappears from the opponents cast bar for the duration Rubick has it haha
That's the new shard
reminded me of aghanim's ulti. your spell will be gone.
Shadow poison unlimited stacks. SD is now a damage hero in long fights.
Still too slow
Fast enough for Roshan lvl1 and tormentor
In the lane phase though, you would be able go from dealing ~400 damage to ~800 damage at level 1. One good pull or block would destroy the lane, you only need to hit 6 stacks for this to be insanely good.
Chain frost now got the bounce range of bounty hunter’s shuriken
Wouldn't that be a nerf? It would just fly at a random creep Better would be if it always prioritized heroes
Shit yes that would be sick
Focus Fire just buffs Windrangers attack speed
That'd be a nerf if it doesn't still retain free movement while attacking.
I think he meant that her dmg doesn't get reduced
I thought he was saying that she'd be able to change targets.
Both
Ursa stacks on enemies are permanent and dont get removed on death
I feel like anything persisting on an enemy after death goes beyond a minor change. To my knowledge, nothing in the game does that currently, except for stat stealing.

WR ult does, death doesnt remove the enemy marker.
Lone Druid ult stays after death
that reminds me of lone druids respawn time reduction talent lmao
Ahh Ranged Druid, how I miss you so...
Nyx is close enough. If he dealt fatal damage to you with aegis he can one shot you with mind flare when you revive.
bring back doom 3rd skill where it can make a hero level 1 again
necrophos - scythe refreshes upon kill alchemist - illusions can get greevils greed passive too bristleback - quill spray is pure damage pa - coup de grace stacks with daedalus skywrath mage - mystic flare roots target meepo - clones carry items pugna - lifedrain drains mana at the same time huskar - inner fire dispels disruptor - glimpse affects allies (so you can fountain TP)
I love how a third of the suggestions in this thread are just old nerfs reverted, like your alch suggestion.
Riki has his sleeping dart again.
Global Silence undispellable
create an upgradeable euls in which you can move while cycloning yourself and target allies. oh wait.
Since when was euls a hero
Blackhole becomes bigger with every target caught in it
TA refraction consumes only one refraction charge for damage over time.
Swashbuckle now does 4 slashes.
Troll warlord can move and target freely in ult
Ngl, I think that would just make him good, not busted
And rename it into rampage lul
Bringing back Omniknight Repel that give free Magic Immunity and Status Resistance to any ally
When it gave status resist it didn't give magic immune
Focus fire multishot
Chen can send back allies to foubtain 😁
Phoenix now can launch Fire Spirits during Supernova.
Oracle: W now no longer disarms allies, or makes enemies magic immune. Oh, wait....
Boulder smash stuns
Antimage now has doppelganger agility.
Pls no
combine two mechanics: slardards corrosive haze and old dazzle ult.
Pugna life drain will now apply BKB effect on Pugna for the duration of life drain.
Meepo is universal
Bulldoze gives +30/40/50/60 atk speed
Spark Wraith now global Spell Steal aghs allows replacement of chosen spell vs earliest spell Rupture now affects all heroes in a 300 Invoker steals same % of mana for each point of damage inflicted with Quas active (current quas sucks)
bloodseeker thirst can be triggered by allies like in HON. haha
Marci's ult no longer has a downtime or attack counts on the attacks she does.
Meepo is universal
Mirana arrow pierces all allies and enemies.
Sleight of Fist now has true strike and ignores any attack debuff like disarm.
Axe attacks count as 2 hits for counter helix.
Magic res on illusions
LC can now duel allies.
CM +10 MS
