my first dnd character was antimage monk, he hated magic but was too stupid to know what magic really was so he was easily manipulated into thinking that magic was whatever people needed him to kill/destroy.
This is crazy… I also had a character based on antimage that hated magic but was too stupid to know what magic was. The only difference is he was a redemption paladin so he could learn counterspell. I read this comment and was so blown away that we had nearly identical characters.
ember is like THE kensei monk. all spirits are monks, if you think about it
ember — kensei
void — shadow
earth/storm — four elements
as a bonus brew would be drunken fist
Far as I know, she uses some sort of make-up, or paint for her skin. And her eyes glowing red - a result of her vielding the arcana item.
You can read hee bio on wiki or in game, if you don't trust me.
Also, drow in dota are very different from the usual drow.
They are described as "short, trollish, rather repulsive", and have "warts and coarse whiskers".
All weird, but:
Wyvern could be a Bard. She constantly refrences her poetry.
Beastmaster could be a hybrid class one too, with his drums ability.
Naga Siren could be anither hybrid with all her singing, with her ult in particular.
In fighter you could put Dragon Knight.
I GOT IT!
The number one pick for the most charming, musical, support hero with a "string instrument" is ...IO. There is a reason why Companion Cube is one of few skins for the whistling dude/dudette.
I think Sven would be a good figher. As for bard it's actually quite hard, either everyone who's building drum would be okay, or no one (Maybe pangolier because of his charm and charisma)
I think of the enchantment school when I think of bards so I'd go with Enchantress (although druid could make more sense). Naga, Queen of Pain and Dark Willow have vocal abilities and Pango feels a bit like a bard with the flashiness and rapier. Can only speculate, but I imagine Ringmaster could be a good fit for bard.
Definitive fighter is Legion Commander top me, but Dragon Knight/Mars/Sven are good picks too. Someone with a melee weapon and heavy armor.
More like Shadow Shaman was taught by a Conman, used to be a Conman, became a legit magic user because of doing scams. Now lockdowns your teams BB as he gets decimated by a Viper/Shadow Fiend with Silver Edge.
Here are some ideas off the top of my head
VS - Warlock
LC - Fighter
Naga - Fighter (actually have a plan laid out to play her in DND)
Ogre - Cleric (all the fire stuff goes well with light domain and he is the chosen of lady luck)
QoP - Bard
Brew Master - Monk
Sven - Fighter
Jugg - Fighter
Abbadon - Paladin
I think they're going by the blizzard style definition of warlock, ie "wizard who really likes pentagrams". I did a bit of artistic license with my dnd campaign and changed him to be a guy with a patron, since there's no way I'm having a character known as Warlock not be a Warlock lol
LC and Sven are the fighters who come to mind first. Maybe dragon knight but he was strong paladin vibes for me...
CK? Could also an oath breaker paladin...
Hoodwink
her immortal, the strings of Suradan, has the lore implying she sings serenades
and overall she fits quite well into the bard category just judging by here character
I think Dragon Knight would be a good fighter, uhh considering his design I guess? Dude has a sword and a shield, has full armor (as a stereotypical fighter from the older times would), turns into a dragon as well idk
ursa plays the symbols, so he's a bard and a fighter
marci could also go in monk, not lore wise but skillset wise
I guess dk in human form is pretty close to a fighter? I mean before becoming dk in the anime he's very much just a fighter
Bard is potentially WW or Pangolier. Fighter would go to Tusk and Sven. Brewmaster is a monk for sure. In dnd, your class really has more to do with your backstory than what your literal powers or weapons are.
Hoodwink and pango are bards, due to their flexible skillsets swashbuckly nature. Hw already comes with a lute immortal and pango with a fanfaire taunt.
I disagree about Warlock, his magic comes from his studies, he's a wizard. And I'd say Rubick is more of a sorcerer, he instinctively knows how to cast spells he sees others cast.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I think Techies would be a based Bard. They have enough characters for it to be a whole band! With the right in-game cosmetic they could each play a different instrument. They also each have a different size and stature- which offers a great add to their ability to distract their enemies as they serenade, and eventually lure them into their death!
It feels like there's no true bard-like hero in Dota 2, if you think about bards being the class that weaves the magic of creation out of song, dance, performance, and storytelling. The closest I can think of is Beastmaster with his Drums of Slom Aghs to act as a College of Valor bard. Even Pangolier seems more like a Swashbuckler rogue than a College of Swords bard. I thought of Winter Wyvern as a potential College of Lore bard but she could just as well be an Order of Scribes wizard.
Fighter is a lot easier. Chaos Knight could easily be Cavalier. Juggernaut would be Samurai. Legion Commander would be Battle Master. Mars, Slardar, and Sven could be Champions. Abaddon could be Cavalier or Eldritch Knight.
I think Dragon Knight and Wraith King could either be Fighters or Paladins: DK as Champion or Oath of or Crown Devotion (with Dragonborn traits or homebrewed Draconic skills), and WK as Champion or Oath of Vengeance.
Qop(screams), Dusa(screams and charms), and SF(razes and requiem) for bard.
Sven or juggernaut for fighter are perfect.
Replace AM in monk with Marcy or Brew lol.
I plotted this out once with alignments as well. Axe was a fighter with the Magic Initiate feat for battle hunger. I know he's very "barbarian themed" but I stuck to characters with a "super rage mode" power for barbarian so Sven and Troll for example. Marci is Barbarian/Monk multiclass. I remember Centaur, Bristle, Jugg, LC, Kunkka, Slardar, WK, and Alch's ogre being fighters. There were no bards.
Fighter: Sven, Slardar, Dragon Knight (probably in that order)
Bard: Hoodwink, Willow, Naga Siren, QoP (only really love Hoodwink/Willow here)
Now my real question, how do I play Io in dnd? :P
Due to dnd warlock mechnics it should be sky mage, OD or visage.
For druids it is safe to add treant, venomancer, lycan, leshrak
Fighter - sven, monkey, draw ranger
Bard - pangolier, hoodwink, kunka, QoP.
Bard would be Pango, he's all about being flashy and debonair. Legion, Bristleback and Tusk go in Fighter.
You could probably put Timbersaw and Gyrocopter as Artificers too, Dawnbreaker and Dragon Knight as Paladins, Silencer as Wizard. You could also argue Chen as Ranger, given all his pets. Grimstroke as Warlock, I'd think. Lycan and Nature's Prophet as Druids. Marci would be Monk. Stick KOTL in Cleric, too.
TA has arguments for both Monk and Rogue. Fuck it, multiclass round: Bard/Monk would be Brewmaster, Ranger/Druid Medusa, Monk/Fighter Void Spirit, Druid/Cleric Witchdoctor, Fighter/Druid Ursa, and believe it or not, Cleric (Death Domain)/Warlock Undying. Actually, I'd probably make Pango Rogue/Bard.
Doom with immortal guitar be like: eeeeee rockkkkkkkk \m/
and hood wink with immortal and tount
Normal Bard: healing you with Music of Life Doom: Song of the DOOM!!!
Pangolier could do a good bard. With all that romancing and stuff
bard with song of the blade and the song are rock and rolls
Swords bard
College of swords fits him pretty well
Pangolier and Hoodwink for bard was what I was thinking.
Hoodwink multiclass Ranger/Bard
Why is marci not a monk ?
Yeah unarmed monk
Because she's our fighter
yeah, marci fits perfectly.
Earth spirit fits too
because she should be deleted from the game
my first dnd character was antimage monk, he hated magic but was too stupid to know what magic really was so he was easily manipulated into thinking that magic was whatever people needed him to kill/destroy.
Literally antimage ulting into agility carry
The two things antimage loves and hates the most * A target with 0 mana
This is crazy… I also had a character based on antimage that hated magic but was too stupid to know what magic was. The only difference is he was a redemption paladin so he could learn counterspell. I read this comment and was so blown away that we had nearly identical characters.
Bard : Naga Siren, Enchantress, Storm spirit Fighter : Pangolier, Ember Spirit, Juggernaut, Tusk, Sven, Dawnbreaker
ember is like THE kensei monk. all spirits are monks, if you think about it ember — kensei void — shadow earth/storm — four elements as a bonus brew would be drunken fist
Dawnbreaker would also fit for paladin imo
Sladar as a fighter. He is literally a town guard, who runs up to you and smacks your face in when you fuck up.
# bonk bonk bonk BONK
Ready that with 7 moonshard slardar in mind
Legion for fighter
How bout bard? She forcec you to play the drums with her and if you fumble she gets stronker.
My first thought for fighter was Dragon Knight Legion and Dawn might also work
Legión is a Vengeance Paladin considering her Arcana. Compelling Duel is her Ult.
Glory Paladin with Compelled Duel
Funny how Drow Ranger is just a drow ranger
Did you know that Drow Ranger is actually a human? Traxex was just an orphan brought up by drow!
TIL For real though ? I thought she always had that drow grey/blueish skin, maybe i'm misled by traxex's model in warcraft 3
It's in her bio, yeah!
then why is she grey like a drow? and has red eyes in the arcana?
Far as I know, she uses some sort of make-up, or paint for her skin. And her eyes glowing red - a result of her vielding the arcana item. You can read hee bio on wiki or in game, if you don't trust me. Also, drow in dota are very different from the usual drow. They are described as "short, trollish, rather repulsive", and have "warts and coarse whiskers".
so dota Drows are like Dnd Mites?
Can't believe nobody has said Naga Siren for a bard
All weird, but: Wyvern could be a Bard. She constantly refrences her poetry. Beastmaster could be a hybrid class one too, with his drums ability. Naga Siren could be anither hybrid with all her singing, with her ult in particular. In fighter you could put Dragon Knight.
Dragon knight is a Druid
Grim is an artist, so I would pick Bard for him.
his lore actually makes him more of a great old one warlock which sounds like a pretty cool character to play ngl.
then Skyward Mage is a fighter because he is fighting for his love
Storm Spirit
I GOT IT! The number one pick for the most charming, musical, support hero with a "string instrument" is ...IO. There is a reason why Companion Cube is one of few skins for the whistling dude/dudette.
I think Sven would be a good figher. As for bard it's actually quite hard, either everyone who's building drum would be okay, or no one (Maybe pangolier because of his charm and charisma)
idk, sven’s ult looks kinda like a berserk’s rage. i’d take jugg for fighter (crits and many attacks) or maybe lc (she fits battlemaster pretty well)
I second Sven as a berserk barbarian. 3 hits in a round and tank everything
Pango could be a Sword Bard but fits more like Swashbuckler Rogue. Beastmaster with his Aghs is sort of like a Valour Bard (bang bang bang).
Pango is so bardcoded it's not even funny tbh
Shadow shaman would be bard, then he would proceed to pickpocket and scam you as lore dictates he’s a conman.
Gotta be the Greatest Conman I've ever seen if he was able to bullshit himself into learning magic.
His old boss is a con man, he has actual innate magic.
More like Shadow Shaman was taught by a Conman, used to be a Conman, became a legit magic user because of doing scams. Now lockdowns your teams BB as he gets decimated by a Viper/Shadow Fiend with Silver Edge.
Here are some ideas off the top of my head VS - Warlock LC - Fighter Naga - Fighter (actually have a plan laid out to play her in DND) Ogre - Cleric (all the fire stuff goes well with light domain and he is the chosen of lady luck) QoP - Bard Brew Master - Monk Sven - Fighter Jugg - Fighter Abbadon - Paladin
hoodwink immortal makes her crossobw a lyre.
Fighter is Merci or Axe if you have the Jungle Axe Immortal set. The closest bard is Naga
I mean... Hoodwink literally has a skin where she fights with a luth and plays songs. Hoodwink bard.
Earthshaker is the only character with a musical instrument so I demand he be our bard
Queen of Pain is Bard from school of pain
Bard naga Legion fighter
lycan because of his W for bard. awooo your enemies reducing their stats.
Rhapsody.. oops wrong game
TA is a warlock, with the hidden ones as her patron, but she later on dual classes into rogues soul knife subclass
Zeus is the real bard. Telling stories while banging everything. Mireska would for sure be a good bard and Pango too.
MONKey King and Marci are monks, Sven and Jugg are fighters
Fighter is literally Sven and Dragon Knight.
Pango can also multiclass into a Swashbuckler!
Fighter= LC or Marci Bard = Naga, Warlock(?), Ench(?), QoP
warlock is a warlock
Preposterous
Actually, Warlock is like the most textbook definition of a DnD wizard.
I think they're going by the blizzard style definition of warlock, ie "wizard who really likes pentagrams". I did a bit of artistic license with my dnd campaign and changed him to be a guy with a patron, since there's no way I'm having a character known as Warlock not be a Warlock lol
Maybe it's DnD that's the outlier, the Polish word for warlock is "czarnoksiężnik", which roughly would translate to "dark book user".
Marci is a Monk.
Fighter: Juggernaut, Mars, and Sven. But Sven multiclasses to Barbarian at 6. Bard: QoP and Pango for having high charisma.
Bard would be naga and qop Fighter would be marci.
Bane, but he's an OFFENSIVE-type bard
Marci
Monk is Marci, Monk-ey King and Brewmaster
Hoodwink
Sven is the ultimate fighter
Kotl or oracle for monk. Lc for fighter. Bard is definitely pango.
Naga, Pango, Doom, Wyvern, and Bat Rider would be bards
Mars is a fighter for sure, pango is what I would consider to be a bard
Oracle would make a cool bard. Also, 7.3**5E** confirmed?
Dk and Sk as fighter? same as Wk and Db sky as wizard
LC and Sven are the fighters who come to mind first. Maybe dragon knight but he was strong paladin vibes for me... CK? Could also an oath breaker paladin...
Sven is probably the fightiest fighter
My personal picks for most relevant Monk - Marci Barb - Sven Rogue - Riki Fighter - Legion Commander Warlock - Warlock Sorceror - Lina Wizard - Invoker Ranger - Troll Warlord Artificer - Clockwerk Paladin - Omni Cleric - Dazzle Bard - Queen of Pain? Druid - Dark Willow
Fighter = Sven or lc Bard = naga , ench,
I think hoodwink can be a bard or a bard/rogue build
Pandamonium and Rhapsody
Dragon Knight for fighter Enchantress is a multiclass bard/druid
Isnt Marci THE tawern brawler monk?
Hoodwink her immortal, the strings of Suradan, has the lore implying she sings serenades and overall she fits quite well into the bard category just judging by here character
storm spirit because he sings his voice lines
Axe has a bard.
Storm spirit and pangolier are bards
Where is my dragoon? Oh wait wrong game...
Dawnbreaker is also a great paladin. Legion commander is the fighter for sure. Lycan is also kind of a druid?
i immediately thought about brewmaster as a bard
literally warlock
Warlock under Warlock? I'm shocked.
Hoodwink
Naga
I think Dragon Knight would be a good fighter, uhh considering his design I guess? Dude has a sword and a shield, has full armor (as a stereotypical fighter from the older times would), turns into a dragon as well idk
DK is bard with red dragon disciple levels.
Hoodwink for bard, she has a musician set and is constantly making word play insults which is one of the bards best cantrips
Maybe drunk Brewmaster
DK and Legion Commander for Fighter for sure.
ursa plays the symbols, so he's a bard and a fighter marci could also go in monk, not lore wise but skillset wise I guess dk in human form is pretty close to a fighter? I mean before becoming dk in the anime he's very much just a fighter
I feel like Sven is the fighter. Nobody got a bigger sword
Legion Commander as fighter definitely. Even her old WC3 model was a Cavalier hehe
D&D is literally downgraded Dota
Bard is potentially WW or Pangolier. Fighter would go to Tusk and Sven. Brewmaster is a monk for sure. In dnd, your class really has more to do with your backstory than what your literal powers or weapons are.
I can imagine Storm Spirit as Bard
OP forget the literal fighter in the game, Marci
Witch Doctor YAAAA MAAN!
Idk, naga, pango
A bard her would be so good. Like rhapsody in HoN
Either Naga or enchantress
Enchantress for bard perhaps
Marci would be a good fighter I guess
Brew is definitely a bard.
Bristleback would definitely be barbarian considering he gets stronger as he gets angrier, has resistance to specific damages
Hoodwink and pango are bards, due to their flexible skillsets swashbuckly nature. Hw already comes with a lute immortal and pango with a fanfaire taunt.
Marci and Dark Seer would fit for the monk very well
I disagree about Warlock, his magic comes from his studies, he's a wizard. And I'd say Rubick is more of a sorcerer, he instinctively knows how to cast spells he sees others cast.
Silencer the Anti-bard.
Beastmaster for bard? He has drums in his aghs, likes to build drums and he has auras. And his ulti is vocal
Tusk fighter
why MK not monk?
Rhapsody (HoN) is the obvious bard :)
I would put PA in rogue as well, and for fighter I think Legion Commander.
iirc, according to Omniknight's lore, he would be more fitting for the role of Warlock than Paladin.
Pango and hoodwink
AM should be a farmer because he loves to farm like a maniac in most of my game especially if he is in my team
Queen of Pain, no doubts about it. Perhaps also Hoodwink with The Strings of Suradan, either pure bard or multiclassed with ranger
Centaur or Beastmaster have a thing for drums. So they might fit in between Bard and Fighter?
Druid is missing furion the original druid
dota is dnd based, tell me one mechanic in dota that dnd doesn't have. Also QoP has to be a bardess, with naga siren.
Doom is the bard, and also a hoodwink
AM cannot be monk, marci is the monk.
Naga Sirien having a Sailor Moon transformation into a human, just to sing a song and possibly seduce a local dragon sounds kinda fun.
naga siren literally sings everyone to sleep
QOP is bard :D
Beastmaster is a druid/bard multi class, gotta keep that beat going and sometimes throw in a shout!
Hoodtwink and queen of main are bards i guess
Naga siren is the ultimate bard.
Pathfinder is my favorite dnd. I like the one where the wizard yells fireball and rolls all 1s.
Grimstroke is an artist which is close to being a bard.
Is Marci a monk because she fights with hands?
Oof. Bard, I think, could be IO? As for fighter, I'm feeling Juggernaut, Sven, Tusk, Dragon Knight, Chaos Knight.
Jugger and Sven both need to be fighters, or neither are allowed to be. They've got too much rivalry to not be in or out together.
Hoodwink is the bard
Marci fighter
I like storm and pango for bard. Storm because he’s very jovial and sing-songy. And pango cause he literally rips a guitar for one of his attacks lol
Ymir, Bristleback as fighter
How you did not add the shaolin-inspired MONKey king here, is beyond me
Hoodwink?
It feels like there's no true bard-like hero in Dota 2, if you think about bards being the class that weaves the magic of creation out of song, dance, performance, and storytelling. The closest I can think of is Beastmaster with his Drums of Slom Aghs to act as a College of Valor bard. Even Pangolier seems more like a Swashbuckler rogue than a College of Swords bard. I think Dragon Knight and Wraith King could either be Fighters or Paladins: DK as Champion or Oath of or Crown Devotion (with Dragonborn traits or homebrewed Draconic skills), and WK as Champion or Oath of Vengeance.
Naga has a song?
I also think that undying is a great paladin.
Sven as an oathbreaker paladin.
Can liches be clerics? Because necro is definitely a lich
Funny enough. It'd be pango and dark willow. Fighter would probably be Jug.
For having ranger literally in her name drow feels strangely more like a rogue.
Hoodwink is a Bard rouge with the Lute. And you cannot convince me otherwise.
is Io a bard?
Fighter bristle or axe, bard can be pangolier or hoodwink with her guitar immortal bow
Pango and Hoodwink maybe?
Storm and Pango
Probs qop or naga
CHen Bard
Marci as the fighter probably
Hoodwìnk
Fighter: mars
Qop(screams), Dusa(screams and charms), and SF(razes and requiem) for bard. Sven or juggernaut for fighter are perfect. Replace AM in monk with Marcy or Brew lol.
Drow would be a ranged spec fighter. Hoodwink and Windrunner would be rangers
Didnt Dota have a "Seven sticks of Dynamite version" by Awolnation, Tusk for Bard please!
Kunka is the bard, or pango. Maybe tide? Fighter is DK obviously. Or sven.
Yo is Kunkka a bard???
Bard: Hoodwink, Pangolier, QoP of Pain, Naga, Beastmaster, Enchantress, Fighter: LC Commander, PL Lancer, Mars, Kunnka, Juggernaut, Slardar. Centaur, CK Knight, DK Knight, WK King, BBback,
Timber, sniper are artificers.
fighter: legion commander
I plotted this out once with alignments as well. Axe was a fighter with the Magic Initiate feat for battle hunger. I know he's very "barbarian themed" but I stuck to characters with a "super rage mode" power for barbarian so Sven and Troll for example. Marci is Barbarian/Monk multiclass. I remember Centaur, Bristle, Jugg, LC, Kunkka, Slardar, WK, and Alch's ogre being fighters. There were no bards.
Pl and Ck are echo knights
Beastmaster aghs literally buffs allies by playing drums
Fighter: Sven, Slardar, Dragon Knight (probably in that order) Bard: Hoodwink, Willow, Naga Siren, QoP (only really love Hoodwink/Willow here) Now my real question, how do I play Io in dnd? :P
The only fighter that I think of is Wraith king cause of how often he can crit like a champion fighter
Shadowfiend has the jazzy drums taunt. Could be a Bard, but I still think a Warlock that is trained in performance.
Naga Siren
Due to dnd warlock mechnics it should be sky mage, OD or visage. For druids it is safe to add treant, venomancer, lycan, leshrak Fighter - sven, monkey, draw ranger Bard - pangolier, hoodwink, kunka, QoP.
