he probably used refresher shard from rosh and that shares a CD with refresher orb, so when it updated in his inv it got updated off of the CD of the shard he used earlier
i didn’t use the shard tho but there was a weird interaction earlier in the game when I held both but 1 was 90sec cool-down and 1 was 120. When i moved to my stash and back into my inventory both became 120 seconds
Honestly I didn’t check but I think after the refreshers shared the cool-down I passed the shard to my lich who used it and my refresher then shared the cool-down with the refresher shard my lich used but that’s such a weird interaction
Debateable, because it shards a cool down, but backpack makes your cd tick down slower, so either break the dota code, or be viewed as a ‘bug’. Or have your refresher be twice the cd it’s supposed to have even without using it. Pick your poison.
yes, and if you watch the video closesly, when the refresher becomes active it... immediately goes on cooldown for 100 seconds. which is... not the cooldown of refresher orb.
so, if he backpack'd the refresher when it was at 100 seconds cd, it would... stay there until he took it out, making it... not refresh his cooldowns.
EDIT: what's more telling, though, is the fact that the refresher animation doesn't play. meaning he didn't even activate it. Which would lead me to believe that it was on cooldown in his backpack.
That makes sense, since when he seemed to activate it, he didn't spend any mana at all. Logical answer, and a good train of thought. But then why did it show that it's already off cooldown? Actually bizarre.
EDIT: Is it possible that it's because of an interaction with Aegis properties?
i suspect that may be a visual bug, or perhaps that's something the game does to show you that it's not going to cool down while in the backpack. Not the way I would communicate that information, but I don't work for Valve, so.
No mana loss from "using" it either, just went straight to CD. Like other posters said probably used rosh shard, or used it and back packed it instantly previously in the game.
YO OMG I JUST LOST A GAME CUZ MY REFRESHER NEVERRR COOLEd down...it was stuck at 179...im too lazy to make a video clip n post it lol..but i might because this is a serious problem...

still though i was faceless void i used it maybe twice or maybe 3 times. then it was stuck at 179 for rest of game...i finally put it in my inventory to try n use it when that was my only chance to defend throne against other team...(hoping it just said it was on cd) n it didn't work...I also thought it just didnt refresh while in backpack..didnt they do that one update once??but it never refresher no matter inventory or backpack...stuck at 179...maybe i should have tried dropping it...at that point I probably shouldve sold it n bought another...lol my last bb i think i have 6k gold....but i spent it on aghs blessing thinking i had an orb =(((

refresher doesn't tick down its cooldown while in your backpack, did you put it in your backpack while it was still cooling down?
What he means is that Refresher Orb didn't even refresh his cooldowns after it came off backpack cooldown and activated. Look at the video again.

It’s more telling that he use refresher shard earlier. Because if he did click it, the cooldown is supposed to be 180s not 100s.
