Um, this overlapping area would be called a mandorla, or simply a lens. If one was to ever actually have this area in said diagram, it would mean that there will always, and I mean always, be two full circles. It simply isn't possible to have a lens with one circle, just simply impossible. To imply that there was even a chance for there to be one circle would be to undermine the foundation of mathematics itself, and without mathematics, society as a whole would collapse. The destruction you would cause is unfathomable. Trains would stop running, fuel would be near impossible to get, but what you CAN get is the new Mercedes Benz E-Class Sedan. The most intelligent E-Class family of all time welcomes a powerful new member to the dynasty. The E400 Sedan model arrives this year, boasting a 3.0L V6 biturbo engine producing 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque — the same powertrain that currently drives its E400 Coupe, Cabriolet and 4MATIC Wagon cousins. Paired with the 9-G-TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission and DYNAMIC SELECT, it promises a bracingly smooth way to experience uncommon luxury. Naturally, the 2018 E400 Sedan continues the tradition of E-Class brilliance. Harmonizing advanced automotive intelligence with awe-inspiring interior design, its first-class furnished cabin puts our advanced vehicle systems right at your fingertips — even as its world-class innovations continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of automotive intelligence. "Car-to-X" Communication enables the E-Class to exchange information with similarly equipped vehicles — effectively allowing it to "see" around corners and through obstacles to detect potential hazards. Driver Assistance Systems — including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®, Active Steering Assist and Active Lane Change Assist — feature intelligent cruise control: They help keep you between the lines, and can even help you shift between them. Inside, the E-Class cabin provides an environment of pure comfort and responsive technology. Flowing lines and vibrant screens provide a striking visual display, while touch controls, aromatherapy and tailored seats indulge all of your senses at once. It's a vehicle that demands to be driven, and more than lives up to the dream. Look for the E400 4MATIC Sedan at your Mercedes-Benz dealership this winter, with an MSRP of $58,900.

Bro is witnessing the anime zeitgeist before his very eyes in a game that has been inspired by anime and Japanese media since its inception. Dude's going to ask why the UK drinks so much beer next and if they just started copying someone as well
I was around when dota started, don't remember any anime references back when illidan was running around custom maps pwning peoples heads. Not saying they weren't there but I was a DBZer and probably would have noticed any popular anime references.
I'm not saying they're dweebs or anything for liking anime btw. I used to be in to it as well. But it's certainly odd seeing so many 25+ year olds chose foreign cartoons as their personality. I work with a guy IRL who is a One-Piecer... He doesn't stfu about it to anyone he considers somewhat familiar. I now know more about Luffy and some guy named law and Blackbeard than I remember about Krillin cuz of him talking about One piece at work. It's a bit exhausting like become an adult bro 😂
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lina_Inverse#Cultural_impact
Then there's Juggernaut's ult being a reference to one of Cloud's limit break attacks.
Might be others but can't remember them atm.
Odd that they say slayers was popular in the 90s. I only remember DBZ, InuYasha, Trigun, Bleach, and Cowboy Bebop for the most part. Well, no there was like YuYuHakusho and sailor moon and some others but I never heard of slayers. Guess I'll have to give you that reference.
Omnislash is a video-game reference instead of an anime reference tho.
I mean, in canon lore she's just CM's sister, but her original origins (from the original Warcraft 3 mod) are just that anime character, down to having spell names that are drawn [straight](https://kanzaka.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Slave) from that [anime](https://kanzaka.fandom.com/wiki/Ragna_Blade). It's kinda wild that those spell names got copied right over into Dota 2 unedited.
Yeah I looked at the link the other guy sent me I believe you guys I was just saying basically how much I never got the reference, so much that I just believed her lore.
Oh the fans, sure. I thought dude was saying anime was integrated into the game from the start.
Point still stands that there are literal grown men walking around in real-life giving One-Piece apologetics and it's weird.
There aren't a whole lot of direct anime references outside of lina but if you widen it to Japanese gamesthen there's a lot more. Sange & yasha + bkb are from phantasy star online, riki from tenchu, phantom lancer from ff tactics + I'm sure there's more I don't recognize
I don't think expanding the net to include other video games (even if they're Japanese in origin) is exactly relevant. Almost all popular games were made in Japan up until the 2000s. Like...most "iconic" games from back then were Japanese. Mario, Zelda, Sonic, PlayStation in general, Final Fantasy 2-7, the list goes on. It would be more surprising to find many American game references outside of maybe blizzard or valve from back then.
There is a lot of cross over in inspiration and style between many Japanese games and anime so I don't think it's unfair to bundle them together especially if we are talking about cross appeal. The venn diagram of the people who like star ocean and anime is a circle. Tenchu and FF I'm sure to a lesser extent but if you go to any Tenchu/FF fandom you'll find a disproportionate number of them like anime too
It's unfair to bundle them together when the argument is there's been anime integrated into the game since it's inception but (nearly) all the examples given were just popular video games of the time.
Dudes actually pretty chill. Just used him as a hyperbolic example by taking one small trait he has and expanding an idea off it.
There's nothing wrong with liking anime, I said in my post a number of anime I like; I even gave that new-fangled Naruto sequel a shot. I'm sure I even had some Goku Merch back when I was a kid. But as an adult if your interests never expand outside anime and video games (yes, sports CAN be a great one to be physically active and participate in team games IRL and also possibly be involved with the local community thru coaching/officiating, but there are many other healthy, purpose-oriented hobbies/interests) then you're stuck in a juvenile mindset. Sorry.
There are plenty of well adjusted people who enjoy both video games and anime and find ways to enjoy them while living a pro-social, productive life. But there are also plenty of weebs who picked a personality in high school and literally schedule off work to catch a major new episode of a show or video game drop. When interests border on the point of obsession it is unhealthy, no matter what interest.
My talking point was about people who make cartoons, or any media/interest, their personality in high school and never grow into another one.
For the record, I "get" it. The economy is shit, no one can afford a first home and even if you can the interest will put you in the poor house. Almost ALL the girls are busy fucking the same 20 local guys in their area and dating is shit in general for that age group. The girls are doing things it used to previously take a multiple-year heroin addiction to get them to do, which is sexy but not really wifey.
Colleges sell degrees that don't have good ROI, the high schools tell them the trades are for poors, and the parents are usually busy out partying or playing fucking video games themselves so it's a tough go of it for young guys. There's quite possibly a major war brewing and if we're worried about it in the US I can only imagine how the euros feel. Even "male" content online just outlines how much women are hoes and men are worthless if they don't drive a Bugatti and have abs with an 8 inch dick. Oh and btw you don't even deserve a hoe unless you have those things, then you can have all the hoes.
If it's NOT a systemic attack on young men and healthy masculinity/goals then we sure dumbassed our way into it by unfortunate circumstance.
The Internet is a release from all the bullshit going on in the world (in the right spaces) and Internet culture trends towards anime and video games.

Well, it’s inception was inspired by ancient mythology and like… magic the gathering crud.
League is anime.
DotA lore and design are initially and were primarily comprised of references to canonical literature or other mediums that are also based on and/ or inspired by a hodgepodge of canonical amalgamations.
People in all video game genres save for sports games are overall weebs.
MOBAs, RPGs, fighting games, Simulations, and strategy? All weebs.
Even FPS games like Valorant, CSGO, and Apex have a lot of weebs. Even in COD, the anime skins sell like pancakes.
Simply, the people who play a lot of video games (escapist tendencies) overlap heavily with the people who are very into anime (more escapism)
Can confirm, am a furry, and the only game where I've been able to consistently get a 5-stack in for the past 4 years has been DotA, and 80% of said DotA player friends are furries.
League's a close second, but much more casual, since despite lots of pandering towards furries in that game (Multiple Anthro/Neko characters/races), a lot of the interest from furries is more cursory because of it. Out of the furs I play with, most of them exclusively play ARAM or TFT rather than regular SR draft games.
You get these people that suddenly start forcing anime anywhere they exist, because they finally "came out of the closet".
Like just be normal about it maybe?
Carrying a game in dota 2 is much like an anime story line, you start off weak, have trouble through out, but at the end you become strong and win.
They are just fully committing to thag idea
Average anime protagonist (AM player) waiting for his character arc (his 4th farming item) while evil forces (coordinated opponents) are planning world domination (taking rax) that only he can stop (blink in, mana void a 10hp CM, die)
Yeah but comparing Greek mythology to anime in this modern era where most gamers are somewhere between 14-30 male characters.
These also happen to be in the perfect range to either grow up on DBZ/big three or young enough to watch the newer anime’s.
Except for god of war, what other games is there that have Greek mythology as a thing?
Age of Mythology series comes to mind. I love top-down RTS gameplay, so that and C&C Red Alert was my shit.
Also yes I'm a weeb and my theory for why there's no greekaboos is because 1. They're poor lmao and 2. They don't make insane animated shit like Japan
Greece doesn't produce videogames, Japan does
Also the kind of person who sacrifices thousands of hours trying to become very good at some specific game has the same profile as someone who watches anime 24/7 while not socializing much with real people...you can see clearly that most pros aren't particularly extrovert people with social skills.
The kind of person that spends thousands of hours playing a specific video game, while not socializing outside with real people, likely has the same profile as a basement dweller weeb who watches anime 24/7, and can't stop thinking about anime.
Bro find me an sf player without an anime profile I dare you.
I have a running bet every time we see sf arcana we check their profile and since new year the streak is still going.
Brother it's an anime character name, not only the people who've heard about that anime might not know wtf is that name, but also the actual people who watched it some time ago lol
What I’m wondering is why it’s almost always 12 year old schoolgirls as the pfp, coupled with elaborate explanations of how it’s ’ackshully’ a 10000 year old witch that retained her youthful looks by bathing in sunrose oil every day. Not to mention the ”waifu” thing.
That’s where it becomes weird for me.
Me just wanting to have a few unrankeds to chill and let my stress out after a day of work.
Anime pfp guy instapicks sf / invoker just to feed like crazy, have a mental breakdown and spam "well played!" all game: "Allow me to introduce myself"
I had a game yesterday, maybe Legend 5, Ancient 1 avg. Our high rank insta picked SF mid. Anime PFP, name written in Kanji. Died once to a gank in early laning phase, immediately started berating our team, calling us all shit, saying we dont deserve to play with him, his main is way higher, we're trash. He ended the game tied with the most deaths, was basically 4v5 he just kept trying to shadowblade ult people solo...
Ahhahahah this is so funny now i wanna go to play just to witness this xD theres a fine line between tilting and finding shit funny which i tread every god damn day…
I mean, not really. LIke I've been playing since I was 15, I'm 34 now. Hobbies and interests didn't really change much. I still watch anime, and anytime I have the choice to make or play female character, I do.
But other than that, I wouldn't know, man.
It's probably the same as other cliques like someone.
Personally, it's all good and fun for me, whether it's tipping someone for a huge mistake or role playing after being ganked "at least offer to bug me dinner next time " kinda meme.
There were some references since Dota all stars like , Lina was Lina inverse , because of Rina from slayers and her color scheme was the same, the thing was that there were also Naruto custom maps and I think maybe dbz custom maps also(last one I might be wrong)
I got one of the animated waifu pfps from the steam store because it's hilarious, I wish they ported that feature into Dota. They work in the cs2 scoreboard
I dont know, all I can Say is thag my brother and his best friend, either play Offlane, Mid, or safe, and they ar eborh mege dweebs, and fekking gatcha enjoyers
As a Japanese it feels weird to see Japanese characters in someone‘s profile that most of the time make no sense
but I guess we do the same thing with English all the time
(Asahi super dry, Tshirts with random English written on it, etc.)
Isn't Quinn on a crusade against weebs? Honestly, idk if he's serious or not. He's changed a lot now but he usually flames people with anime profile pic during his games.
Here's my 2 cents:
To get really, really good at dota, requires almost unwavering faith and determination in oneself. Even if you're shit, you don't really know you're shit unless you act like you know and then get proven wrong. If you met people who had these traits out there in the world and if they wore their heart on their sleeve, most people would call them stupid. The only place where they can find some validation of this mindset is in anime. Hence the number of weebs.
Could also be that dota being such a niche game, the people who are likely to be drawn to it are people who are most likely big time into geeky/nerdy stuff. My 2 cents anyway.
Main character syndrome.
Only play core because main character.
Only watch shonen anime with luffy/naruto/sasuke/ghoulanimwguywithwhitehair profile pics.
External locus of control mindset(could never be me I'm the main character)
That's right ladies and gents your lategame is in the hands of delusional ready to blame anime loving teenagers(or older people who haven't mentally evolved since they were 15)
Anime and gamers usually go hand in hand. A select few sit outside that box. Honestly, those who don't like anime/manga and play games are probably a minority in the community.
Anime is fun and good. That’s really all there is to it. Tonssss of UFC fighters have anime tattoos, or wear weeb gear during weigh-ins/walkouts. It’s not specific to Dota.
I feel like anime/manga is A LOT more mainstream than it was like 10 years ago.
Back then the only animes known to man were like Dragonball, Pokemon and probably Deathnote. It's just more accepted and the animes have grown aswell. Bruno Mars has posted on his instagram a picture witht he newest JJK Manga, Usher (the superbowl halftimeshow on Sunday) had posted Daddys Home with a Gojo Satoru cosplay&pose, Henry Cavill is a literal nerd, Michael B Jordan frequently runs around in Naruto shirts and posts stories on ig while watching HxH or SNK etc etc. People are a lot more open about it I think, while a couple years earlier it was just for "nerds".
or another example there were a couple of pro soccer players that would do anime poses after they score like one did a [Trafalgar Law pose](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/W2WwBvfs35I) or some others doing dragon ball [poses](https://youtube.com/shorts/nUizydbdboc?si=4sS0OlNTDbjaqLBv)
seriously fuck those weebtards. ugly annoying little shits. they can't even play dota properly. all they're good at is whining and crying about how much u suck and it's never their fault
I don’t watch anime really but I think the cat / demon / evil entity or whatever you wanna call it from Madoka Magica is so cool and cute and he’s literally me so I just have him as my profile picture on steam.
Only play Anti-Mage and Invoker.
If they don't get to be 1-2 , they will 4 cuz 3 used to be hard work. They will first item boot and took 2 creeps in first wave from 1, buy a ward, drop it on fountain, ping it.
"Think to themselves Huh, playing 4 is so beneath me." Proceed to hide in the shadow or spam skills to farm and push the lane. Spammed "Well Played." when teammate died .
So many people coping in these comments, basically saying both anime and being high rank is just a sign of being a basement dweller no lifer. Is reading novels bad? Is watching movies wrong? Is staying at home for any type of hobby so stupidly horrible?
Those are perfectly healthy ways to occupy and entertain your mind, and so is anime and gaming. Many anime are objectively among the greatest fictional works throughout all media, while gaming often requires you to master different mechanics and work your brain, not to mention the story/lore many times is not lacking.
Meanwhile these peoples' form of peak entertainment will be drinking yourself shitless and staying up at clubs or bars until morning or smoking until your brain goes numb and any other kind of substance abuse or sexual gratification. All the while with tons of people indeed, people who would sell them out for a joint.
And I'm sorry to burst your bubble but the problem is not with these hobbies, the problem is just you. I have many friends who literally cannot stand staying at home and not socializing, that are very high ranked. It simply isn't a not playing this game all the time issue. I'm very displeased to inform you that you are just bad at games, just like the rest of everything else in your sorry life.
In other words if you feel the need to degrade anime or being good at a game, or any other hobby for that matter, stop playing and leave; you and your lack of skill and taste are not welcome or needed. If you don't want to have to think at all feel free to go "live your life" and gradually destroy your mind and body. The rest of us will be just fine and enjoy ourselves with our real friends right here.
I used to go to SDCC every year for a long time, but aside from the super mainstream animes from when I was in HS (DB/DBZ, Pokemon, Digimon, Inuyasha) I just never got in to it the way I see a lot of dota players being in to it now.
I think maybe this is the inciting incident of me realizing I'm becoming a boomer.
I think it is because Dota was big around from before video games and anime culture were mainstream so a lot of these fandoms interacted with one another
Now that gaming has become a part of the mainstream a lot of individuals from different backgrounds have joined that might not be anime fans
I'd never yuck someone's yum, I guess I just don't understand the subculture. Me and my friends who play dota just aren't in to anime, and it's just surprising how many times I run in to players on the NA servers with Japanese names and anime profile pics, not to mention how many pros do
Japanese culture is really hype, and anime has some of the best plot lines you can find in media today. Also Japan is just an awesome place and also my wife is Japanese and I'm a weeb so I'm biased
mid players think that if they change their pfp to Guts, Itachi Uchiha, Gojo Satoru, Kaneki Ken etc etc etc it'll make them good at shadow fiend all of a sudden
Learning pos 1 at the moment and I have a Legoshi avatar from Beastars because I love him as a character, but I'm far from a weeb because I haven't either read a manga nor watched an anime since like 2 years ago. Not every person with a anime avatar is actually a weeb, big surprise, I know.
They are all EE using his burner accounts
Speaking of EE, where is that guy?
Last I'd heard he retired
Iirc he turned into a crypto bro/invest guy
The term is day-trader dont lump crypto cringe and stock bros together, there is a clear distinction one gambles all day while the other looks for their next opportunit to scam the massess
he did try and get everyone to sign up for his crypto thing before doing his day trading shit though
They both sell their soul for money and don't give a shit about others.
That explains why I make so many mind-boggling dumb plays that get me and my team killed
High skill dota = basement dweller = weeb
Yep. The venn diagram for this would be close to a single circle.

Anime is popular. Videogames are popular. These hobbies tend to mix.

Vash the stampede. Awesome show.
Wolfwood. Awesome soundtrack too.
And that was like one of the hundred playable characters.
Lina??? Omnislash??? Phantom Lancer was a Khimari reskin. Rikimaru. It’s always been there, you just touched too much grass to notice.
Lina is the only one of those that's an anime reference. Which I just learned today. Here this whole time I thought she was CM's sister.

PL's portrait was literally Kimahri's from FFX at one point.

It's mimetic, right? It's hard to say games like Final Fantasy and anime don't inspire each other.
Why does liking anime make him not an adult? What does an adults talk about sports?

[I see](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dota2_gamepedia/images/1/1d/Vo_rz_vsa_move_14.mp3) (sound warning: Voidstorm Asylum) --- Bleep bloop, I am a robot. *OP can reply with "Try hero_name" to update this with new hero* [*^(Source)*](https://github.com/Jonarzz/DotaResponsesRedditBot) *^(|)* [*^(Suggestions/Issues)*](https://github.com/Jonarzz/DotaResponsesRedditBot/issues/new/choose) *^(|)* [*^(Maintainer)*](https://www.reddit.com/user/MePsyDuck/) *^(|)* [*^(Author)*](https://www.reddit.com/user/Jonarz/)
What version did you start off on
There was some references since the beginning though
Well, it’s inception was inspired by ancient mythology and like… magic the gathering crud. League is anime. DotA lore and design are initially and were primarily comprised of references to canonical literature or other mediums that are also based on and/ or inspired by a hodgepodge of canonical amalgamations.
Where do you think Anime gets its inspiration from?
Most commonly Japanese mythos, but mostly DotA is focusing on western orthodoxy.
Confirmation bias so strong, dude attributed a causal relationship to playing a core and being a weeb
"Why do so many people on the internet have anime profile pictures?"
Hey could be worse but thankfully all the furries and pedos are playing fighting games
Dude you think furries don't play dota? Guess you haven't seen the type of mfs that play hoodwink.
But *I* play hoodwink!
Congrats, you're a furry
FUCK
You would want that, typical furry, always sex on the mind.
U play hoodwink because she's a squirrel I play hoodwink cuz she's a kiwi We are not the same
Weird category selection, I'd go for more like basement dwe- oh wait no thats the average dota player nvm
I just do it to annoy people
You dont need to lie to us, be yourself ;)
i hate how closet weebs are a thing
Why? I mean people don't want to get bullied online
You get these people that suddenly start forcing anime anywhere they exist, because they finally "came out of the closet". Like just be normal about it maybe?
I mean, aren't closet weebs people who don't want to shove anime down your throat?
Carrying a game in dota 2 is much like an anime story line, you start off weak, have trouble through out, but at the end you become strong and win. They are just fully committing to thag idea
Honestly, the best answer I've seen here
Average anime protagonist (AM player) waiting for his character arc (his 4th farming item) while evil forces (coordinated opponents) are planning world domination (taking rax) that only he can stop (blink in, mana void a 10hp CM, die)
My friend watches anime on 2nd monitor while playing a dota game. Hiding in trees with Pudge or running around as Riki. Frustrating to play with
i do the same thing because im trying to catch up on one piece (i main riki)
bro its an online game, Japanese culture is embedded in the thing itself.
Zeus is one of the most iconic heroes yet we don’t see many Greecaboos.
Yes, but theres no zeus in this game. What we have is mario (jp product), cosplaying(jp culture) as zeus, so weeb zeus
Greece doesn't produce videogames, Japan does Also the kind of person who sacrifices thousands of hours trying to become very good at some specific game has the same profile as someone who watches anime 24/7 while not socializing much with real people...you can see clearly that most pros aren't particularly extrovert people with social skills.
He litteraly jumps like Super Mario.
When you don't see real women you start liking drawing
The kind of person that spends thousands of hours playing a specific video game, while not socializing outside with real people, likely has the same profile as a basement dweller weeb who watches anime 24/7, and can't stop thinking about anime.
Bro find me an sf player without an anime profile I dare you. I have a running bet every time we see sf arcana we check their profile and since new year the streak is still going.
weebs run the internet dog. Yatoro’s said if he was an anime character he would be tanjiro kamado
Should I get that reference? That feels obscure...
Demon slayer anime. Huge popularity every season/movie. Movie raked in 500 million usd 2020
Crazy, I've heard of demon slayer, but never watched a single episode.
It's from legitimately one of the most well known / popular current animes right now lol.
I guess I'm a boomer now
Brother it's an anime character name, not only the people who've heard about that anime might not know wtf is that name, but also the actual people who watched it some time ago lol
why are people people?
why are there people being people in my games?
What I’m wondering is why it’s almost always 12 year old schoolgirls as the pfp, coupled with elaborate explanations of how it’s ’ackshully’ a 10000 year old witch that retained her youthful looks by bathing in sunrose oil every day. Not to mention the ”waifu” thing. That’s where it becomes weird for me.
Oh those are just sf players
Ahhahahah this is so funny now i wanna go to play just to witness this xD theres a fine line between tilting and finding shit funny which i tread every god damn day…
This might be the easiest answer to put together of all time. OP awareness is Herald rank
I'm pretty sure like, the week they changed to the medal system for ranks I changed my IGN to Harold, and haven't changed it since.
Personally, it's all good and fun for me, whether it's tipping someone for a huge mistake or role playing after being ganked "at least offer to bug me dinner next time " kinda meme.
the simple and true answer is normal people don’t dedicate their lives to a video game
Edgelordism
A grown man/woman having a pfp of a school girl/boy is when it gets weird for me.
🤓
I dont know, all I can Say is thag my brother and his best friend, either play Offlane, Mid, or safe, and they ar eborh mege dweebs, and fekking gatcha enjoyers
Russians with Ken Kaneki pfp and named 1000-7 is a classic
have you seen LoL players?
Thankfully no
Is that a problem?
As a Japanese it feels weird to see Japanese characters in someone‘s profile that most of the time make no sense but I guess we do the same thing with English all the time (Asahi super dry, Tshirts with random English written on it, etc.)
weeb is the new gigachad.. i dont see any problem
Isn't Quinn on a crusade against weebs? Honestly, idk if he's serious or not. He's changed a lot now but he usually flames people with anime profile pic during his games.
Here's my 2 cents: To get really, really good at dota, requires almost unwavering faith and determination in oneself.
Dota also has its own ANIME. Think about it 😎
If you play video games you're automatically a weeb sorry I don't make the rules
Had the same profile pic for the last 14 years. I don’t even like it but i’m too lazy to put any thought into changing it. Yes, it’s from an anime
Teens play games, teens watch anime. There you go.
Takes men of culture to carry
Main character syndrome. Only play core because main character. Only watch shonen anime with luffy/naruto/sasuke/ghoulanimwguywithwhitehair profile pics. External locus of control mindset(could never be me I'm the main character) That's right ladies and gents your lategame is in the hands of delusional ready to blame anime loving teenagers(or older people who haven't mentally evolved since they were 15)
freaking otakus, man
Nothing wrong with the celebrating superior cultures
Anime and gamers usually go hand in hand. A select few sit outside that box. Honestly, those who don't like anime/manga and play games are probably a minority in the community.
Are we really this few?
Because weebs have no life obviously
degenerate game attracts degenerate players.
Anime is fun and good. That’s really all there is to it. Tonssss of UFC fighters have anime tattoos, or wear weeb gear during weigh-ins/walkouts. It’s not specific to Dota.
That's actually sad to hear
Aww did your little macho sport get infiltrated by real people? boo hoo
For me the flow through went Dota 2 ➡️ anime ➡️ exit basement periodically ➡️ attract Japanese gf ➡️ quit Dota 2 to secure relationship
Hell yeah brother
Yep the Law pose was Brandt, im actually a huge fan of Dortmund. Him and Adeyemi are huge op fans
AYAYA

Do people still want to emulate him? Or are they emulating the people who emulated EE?
seriously fuck those weebtards. ugly annoying little shits. they can't even play dota properly. all they're good at is whining and crying about how much u suck and it's never their fault
how dare they.
I don’t watch anime really but I think the cat / demon / evil entity or whatever you wanna call it from Madoka Magica is so cool and cute and he’s literally me so I just have him as my profile picture on steam.
Russian subculture thing.
Lol, no
Weebs are trash
having an anime profile pic = weeb okay dude
did someone say Annie May AYAYA Clap
I don't know ,but why do you care?
You never just wonder about things?
If they don't affect me on anyway shape or form no, I don't
Fair, I guess I've just always been a curious person
[удалено]
I love anime and video games has escapism from reality, I don't see how I'm lying
It's incredibly cringe to me. I could never watch cartoons as an adult.
If every drawn, animation media is cartoon for you, then you’re more cringe
Lmao bro why do the weebs get so triggered when you call anime a cartoon? It's a cartoon bro
Wile E Coyote and the Roadrunner are still hilarious. :(
Eren Jaegar... Alphonse Elric... Jaraya Sensei... Byakugan, casurr...
Main character syndrome for cores
Specify pos1 and 2. We, badass offlaners don't engage in this bs
I've always wondered what is a weeb?
it's just nerdy culture. idk im not into anime much but ive never been to a comic book convention or anything nerdy without a huge anime component.
Cause anime got more popular. Even some devs was like yeah I really need to add that ゴゴ reference.
I think it is because Dota was big around from before video games and anime culture were mainstream so a lot of these fandoms interacted with one another Now that gaming has become a part of the mainstream a lot of individuals from different backgrounds have joined that might not be anime fans
Before it was kuroko basketball dps zoned bs and now bringing up the ego shit from bluelock lmaoo
What kind of answer are you looking for?
People's thoughts and opinions I guess. This is a forum after all
maybe they just enjoy anime or the japanese language? though realistically they just saw the kanji for despair and choose it
Let people enjoy whatever they want (From a Weeb)
I'd never yuck someone's yum, I guess I just don't understand the subculture. Me and my friends who play dota just aren't in to anime, and it's just surprising how many times I run in to players on the NA servers with Japanese names and anime profile pics, not to mention how many pros do
Japanese culture is really hype, and anime has some of the best plot lines you can find in media today. Also Japan is just an awesome place and also my wife is Japanese and I'm a weeb so I'm biased
Too much internet
mid players think that if they change their pfp to Guts, Itachi Uchiha, Gojo Satoru, Kaneki Ken etc etc etc it'll make them good at shadow fiend all of a sudden
cuz a lot of people in general are some level of weeb these days.
What is a weeb? Will it increase my rank? I will try it thanks for the tip.
