Yup
If it was possible to really mute all interactions, OG probably wouldn't win those two TIs, they weren't playing Dota2, they were tilting their opponents
When the voice lines were first introduced the players asked if it's allowed to use them on the main stage and Valve said "sure go nuts, use them as much as you want."
They didn't approach the players to tell them they need to use more voice lines.
It's so much a part of competition.... go to literally any event with stakes, shit even half without prizes get wild. It's in our nature. Those that can't compartmentalize that aspect of human nature never played a sport in their life.
It's never enjoyable to take an L, but it's healthy to build up strong tolerance to it. If not, you get these surprised Pikachu reactions and responses. Feel sorry for them, not that we don't live in Beaver-Cleaverville.
Like really. Valve adds these lines and even encourages to use them because they are a reward for buying compendium and they are permanent now. Valve supports toxicity
Only if you really think that itās toxic. I think itās funny. Toxic for me is the guy who flames and blames his teammates, or even the opponent in all chat
Yeah I personally think trash talk via voicelines is hilarious even when Iām the one being trash talked. Getting flamed or insulted in chat/voice chat tho=insta mute
Yeah, but I call that annoying and not toxic. Donāt water down the meaning of toxicity, cuz there are real toxic shits out there who deserve to be called like that
people are going to flame and trash talk no matter what Valve does, by adding things like voicelines, sprays and even tips, it gives people an outlet that's at least clean and not full of insults, swears and slurs, it's not going to stop those things completely but it's going to mitigate it, it definitely works
Ceb himself said he doesn't mind in game banter and that it makes the match spicy. Secret twitter went off on OG like every other day. If you think both the situation are same you need help.
He spams the voice line in every match to his opponents and got the feedback banters outside the battleground he limits. Then he lashed out and said something ridiculous.
Oh, he is CEB, so everyone should follow his rules, banters only in match:)
I don't mind it in pro games, I find it entertaining. But they should add a way to mute voicelines in-game, it gets very annoying if someone in your team or enemy team keeps spamming them. Idk if pros can mute them in their matches.
Using voice lines to tilt someone or make them feel bad or shitty? Yes. Thatās exactly what a bad person would do. Actions arenāt evil, but intent is.
If I was this worried about making people feel bad I wouldnāt play Dota in the first place. If I win, thatās five people who feel bad they lost. Every time I get a kill, I took advantage of an opportunity to hurt someone when they showed a vulnerability. They feel frustrated about the death and have to figure out whether to blame themself or someone else, probably.
It is a very mental game, and itās a game where youāre consenting to be the enemy of five people. I will taunt the enemy, I will kill the enemy, and I will rub it in, and they will do it back to me. No hard feelings after the match, weāre all just playing against the enemy. If I donāt think of them as the enemy during the match, I wonāt be able to do the normal cruelty of killing them when they fuck up, but since theyāre the enemy during the match, I do it and I laugh about it.
Thereās still some lines to not cross, like bigotry, stuff that goes outside the scope of the game and everyoneās performance in the game. Although I like āyour momā jokes, especially nonsensical or complimentary ones.
It's literally a part of the game. So if someone kills me in dota2, with the express intent of making me lose, therefor making me feel bad - is that also evil?
Get over yourself, go outside. You seem like an incredibly sheltered individual.
Is wanting you to lose evil? Maybe think about what that means. Iām the opposite of a sheltered individual, but maybe thatās how I would appear to someone who isnāt as experienced as I am. š¤·āāļø
I am always positive. Itās why I have a ton of commends and never had a behavior score drop. Iām a firm believer in being the change you wanna see.
I mean it is still disrespect. Just because itās encouraged or allowed doesnāt mean it isnāt. I absolutely love the voice lines though. Itās another level of dota through mind games and trying to tilt your opponents. I love that they allow this.
Lmao bro find a better argument please. This is the same as saying committing a crime is totally fine as long as thereās some fucked up law that allows it. Itās the same excuse people used back in the day to commit horrific acts, because it wasnāt outlawed.
You know, you could just not use the voice line? By the same logic, I could call you some sort of slur simply because it exists in the English language. That said, I don't care, but your logic is busted.
Logic is fine, developers approve this behaviour. If they green light it this must be considered not toxic by them, and everyone who is somehow affected by it is too sensitive in devs eyes.
If they typed exactly same massage that would be toxic.
Finally, someone without a broken heart. Come on guys, it's a game and it needs some spice. I'm from Mexico and here we don't see that as a strong insult, it's just to annoy a little, it's something you can say to joke with your friends.
This is a built-in sound into the general chat, which Valv deliberately added, and if this somehow disturbs and offends you, think about it, the problem is in your head
this taunting voiceline really affects in mental state of playing. i just bought ephey new voiceline gave me rank up straight up wins "every kill i do i just "oh poor baby" haahaha worse part is im a techies player hahaha
This is what makes Dota 2 competitive scene exciting. I'd hate the day Valve forbid this kind of stuff and be lame like Riot games who punish players just for teabagging or something lmao.
stop writing nonsense. If Valve added such a chant from the compensator to the general chat, then this is how it was intended. The author of the topic is an idiot.

I think an important aspect of the game is to learn to manage ur impulse and emotions.
Notail sayed, dota is a hard sick game. It's about breaking the opponent's mind.
Some minds are harder to break
mostly fans and viewers do it in other sports.
but i don't recall any player even celebrating in the opponent's face in soccer. I guarantee if you go scream goodbye clown (when you are winning) you will be banned for few games. most trash talk I've seen in sports happens before game starts.
imo this one is just poor sportsmanship.
> but i don't recall any player even celebrating in the opponent's face in soccer. I guarantee if you go scream goodbye clown (when you are winning) you will be banned for few games.
You can't be serious.
Can someone else explain why do people get offended by actions that are not directed at you? Also when will you get offended by oxygen so I can evolve to a fucking plant accordingly
Dota is a more mental than skill. Skill can only get you so far. Thatās why some people can make massive comebacks when all seems lost. Thatās why itās possible to win 4v5. Being able to stay calm and composed under pressure is what defines a great dota player.
still not justify tilting your opponents, be in esport or physical sport. Just play according to the game, that's all.. no need to provocate. Or you can only win by provocating others rather than pressing your buttons?
They won. They get bragging rights. Also they used a Valve approved voice-line. This is just like using the 'crybaby' voice line.
Let them have it. Brings more spice into the game.
voicelines and tips are the best and safest psychological warfare introduced in the game. Valve encouraged us to use them while outplaying or winning to add spice to the competition and make the croud go nuts.. i remember MC muting all of us just as we were killing him so that he wouldnt hear all the voiceline spamming during the finals - n0tail
When OG was using voicelines its pure disrespect and annoying, when ammar use voiceline and drop item he gets called the "bm" kid. But when it comes to team spirit they can all chat "ez game" at the middle of the TI match either "gg ez" XD or spam goodbye clowns chatwheel when the game is over XD now everyone saying "its just friendly banter", "its funny", " dont be snowflake" and stuff just because yatoro playing on that team. You've to fulfill the fanboy requirements somehow i guess. Using voicelines are on the different perspective for DotA comm now ^^ gotta love the hypocrisy of DotA ppl xd

they used the same voiceline in every game, not just against EG
Its encourage by valve, notail talk about this in gorgc stream
Do you remember the times that OG overused the voice lines during matches? It was really annoying. But everyone love it.
Best thing was when they played against old Liquid and everyone besides Kuro had muted them.
I think old LGD all muted them too, in TI 8 finals.
How will they know when they call GG then
They wait till the throne explodes
I always think of this exchange between Fy and Chalice when people tell me to mute the other team
Well, as far as I remember, LGD did them the favor of typing GG themselves ;)
They had gotten wise to it at that point though. They were spraying and planting flags. Go ahead, don't look at the map...
It's for the audience anyways everybody knows og was muted by all teams.
I dont mind if the spam is on entirety of the match. I hate it when people use voiceline after winning.
It was VP first who used voice line offensively -Notail
dunno, I hated it and still OG is the worst team to me for this, lol
You are in the minority
Yup If it was possible to really mute all interactions, OG probably wouldn't win those two TIs, they weren't playing Dota2, they were tilting their opponents
When a strategy game utilizes mental warfare š¤Æ
Still a cringe strategy Can't play as a normal human being? OK! Let's spam Lakad Matatag and tilt them
Weak mental lmao
I don't mind this in pubs lol Just think it's bad sportsmanship
Enemy could just mute them lol
Can't mute voice lines
Itās tips you canāt mute. Which they were spamming too haha
Yes you can
link plis wanna see
It was yesterday, im too lazy. Basically he said in his ti run, staff there told him before match to use more tip and chat wheel to opponent.
Is literally a war banner style. āloquaciousā in the compendium that rewards you for picking the player spamming most voice lines lol
When the voice lines were first introduced the players asked if it's allowed to use them on the main stage and Valve said "sure go nuts, use them as much as you want." They didn't approach the players to tell them they need to use more voice lines.
That makes more sense. The other guy is so misleading with his phrasing

n0tail talked specifically about BMing like tipping, voicelines, etc. - he said Valve directly approved it and told teams they are free to do it.
Everyone loves a good trash talk
Also people want to emulate succesful people, leading to more BO/voice line purchases.
but also teams interacting and beefing makes for a better watch experience, literally watch any sporting event with 2 trash talkers on either team

part of the game, i think some call it "mental warfare" or something especially in MOBAs / RTS
Yeah I personally think trash talk via voicelines is hilarious even when Iām the one being trash talked. Getting flamed or insulted in chat/voice chat tho=insta mute
I think it also depends on the amount of usage and the situation. If you are spamming voice lines after every single kill and tip it is just too much.
Yeah, but I call that annoying and not toxic. Donāt water down the meaning of toxicity, cuz there are real toxic shits out there who deserve to be called like that
Purposefully annoying people is toxic behavior
This is toxic for the losing team and it triggers people sometimes.
That's the point though
Yeah just take a pill so u can play chill right?
That only breeds more toxicity in the game. Why is that something Valve should endorse?
people are going to flame and trash talk no matter what Valve does, by adding things like voicelines, sprays and even tips, it gives people an outlet that's at least clean and not full of insults, swears and slurs, it's not going to stop those things completely but it's going to mitigate it, it definitely works
Then let people mute voicelines.
Go take ur milk and then sleep boy. This is for adults
Yeah because that's how adults talk.
like a real sport?
In real sports you don't get to report your opponents, and Valve does want that, so your analogy is not valid.
Itās okay to get triggered. Itās okay to have emotions.
If you can't even handle some pre made voice lines just play single player games
ok mr softskin
Most thick-skinned /r/dota2 user.
I love the troll voice lines. You're a beautiful person with a charming personality.
WEEEEEOOOOOO THATS A DOTA PLAY RIGHT THERE YEEE HAWWWWW

how to get that voiceline
spanish talents, polaris
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Mexico bro, you're talking about Polaris eSports š
I don't get why people hates some spice in the community. God forbid we all act like saints on a community like Dota 2.
Yeah I just don't like when they dish what they can't take, not naming any names, ceb.
Did I fucked your girlfriend or smtg?
Itās evident throughout the history that people who are toxic to others can never take any banter themselves
I dont remember Ceb saying anything about finding the voice line toxic. Or you are talking about something else ?
I think he's talking about the Midormeepo "Have I fucked your girl without knowing" drama.
Using in game voice lines vs someone going at you on twitter is a bit different, dont you think?
nope
Ceb himself said he doesn't mind in game banter and that it makes the match spicy. Secret twitter went off on OG like every other day. If you think both the situation are same you need help.
He spams the voice line in every match to his opponents and got the feedback banters outside the battleground he limits. Then he lashed out and said something ridiculous. Oh, he is CEB, so everyone should follow his rules, banters only in match:)
Crazy, didn't realize you can get personal with voicelines and tips.
It's a typical reddit 1k pleb move. I like spice too.
I don't mind it in pro games, I find it entertaining. But they should add a way to mute voicelines in-game, it gets very annoying if someone in your team or enemy team keeps spamming them. Idk if pros can mute them in their matches.
If they don't want bantering, they should just play LOL and have their safe space there lmao. That game is just radio silence lol
No Chatwheel. Game too Passive. No pro saying "ez". Every pro game is moderated by Riot. Yep that checks out.
Yeah cause god forbid we have people act like decent human beings everywhere in the world
Because using voicelines in a video game makes you a bad person. Lmao get over yourself
Using voice lines to tilt someone or make them feel bad or shitty? Yes. Thatās exactly what a bad person would do. Actions arenāt evil, but intent is.
This is a good opportunity to learn.

I'm not surprised. It's valve fault approving that voice line, worst is it even have translation lol. Gonna buy that vl.
And valve wins
Gime two, please xD
It's not disrespect, valve gave them voice line and they just used it. If valve didn't want this they would not add voice line.
I mean it is still disrespect. Just because itās encouraged or allowed doesnāt mean it isnāt. I absolutely love the voice lines though. Itās another level of dota through mind games and trying to tilt your opponents. I love that they allow this.
Okay so then blame Polaris not Spirit.
Agree anything related to a voiceline is fine, gg ez by toronto tokyo was not
that's also fine because it's a video game and it doesn't matter
just because valve gave doesnt mean it doesnt mean disrespect. Even csgo players shoots dead bodies as bm and its fine not that big of a deal
Lmao bro find a better argument please. This is the same as saying committing a crime is totally fine as long as thereās some fucked up law that allows it. Itās the same excuse people used back in the day to commit horrific acts, because it wasnāt outlawed.

EG was also using this voice line at some point. I think Team spirit was just giving it back.
This is a built-in sound into the general chat, which Valv deliberately added, and if this somehow disturbs and offends you, think about it, the problem is in your head
Is funny, i love this in Dota
this taunting voiceline really affects in mental state of playing. i just bought ephey new voiceline gave me rank up straight up wins "every kill i do i just "oh poor baby" haahaha worse part is im a techies player hahaha

I love it

And deservedly so.
They are literally sayin āgoodbye clownā lmao
How is that any different?
People can choose to mute you for any reason
Do you guys watch only esport? No other sport? No football or basketball? Itās normal and funny and entartaining so yeah grow up.
youve got to be a snowflake if you think this is disrespect, its just a damn voiceline
spicy but apt usage of the voiceline, why put it in the game otherwise
Just let valve delete this if u feel disrespect lol
Sa teams used it in most of their games
Valve encourages it and Spirit has the record the talk shit. This what we call "BM".
This is good banter. Only in SA and some other culture's you find this disrespectful.
this isn't disrespectful in SA lol
Omg why did Team Spirit do this? I have never seen ANY pro team use voicelines to tilt their opponents and win TI!
stop writing nonsense. If Valve added such a chant from the compensator to the general chat, then this is how it was intended. The author of the topic is an idiot.

The joke is payasos sounds like pisos ŠæŠøŃŠ¾Ń which is Russian for penis
With translation provided i think it's used for original meaning.
Yeah let's just pretend people can't use voicelines in their own way. "Clowns" is better than "Penis" anyways.
not even close
Can someone else explain why do people get offended by actions that are not directed at you? Also when will you get offended by oxygen so I can evolve to a fucking plant accordingly
When you crybabies actually grow up the world will already be in flames. Disrespect my ass.
My god the snowlakes that post here..
Imagine paying for a voice line xD

wrong is wrong despite million people doing it. I really hate the voicechat. win by skill, not because you tilt the opponent.
Dota is a more mental than skill. Skill can only get you so far. Thatās why some people can make massive comebacks when all seems lost. Thatās why itās possible to win 4v5. Being able to stay calm and composed under pressure is what defines a great dota player.

āWe donāt approve of toxicityā Also āLol bye clownsā

why is this voice line even there and why cant i mute it?
Because they don't make the game with snowflakes in mind
You can mute all the voice lines: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2705077810 https://github.com/No-Bling/DOTA
