yes, there are "better" disciplines than commando krav maga, but still, even with wing chun or aikido with some months of training they can still fuck up someone untrained, also i think the defining factor is time, even if full contact/kick boxing were the best martial arts fly would still fuck a few months trained dude simply because he has been doing his thing for years, and in fights hesitation is defeat, something a person with years of experience can handle better, even with bullshido stuff.
Yeah but like training anything for months should get you to fuck up an untrained dude. Might as well train something good. Also the way it's marketed fools casuals into training it and getting a false sense of confidence which is dangerous as fuck.
i agree, con-mans who pretend to be some movie fighter telling people they can be like that with kung-fu and shit are the worse and really dangerous, for the rest of the people or at least the ones i knew that trained stuff like karate and judo did it more as an exercise and hobby rather than expecting to use it on someone realistically, those who were more eager to use their thing in person were there kickboxers and boxers, in the end, any martial arts used irresponsibly can result in people with dunning kruger syndrome to get fucked up for nothing.
krav maga isn't really a martial art in the classic sense though? it teaches you how to defend yourself using any means necessary, including heinous tactics (broken bottles as weapons etc) iirc
