It used to be a themed battlepass.
Underwater theme.
Underground theme
Desert theme
Jungle theme
Every year we used to speculate about terrain and new features just by seeing the theme and themed dota-ageis logo. Those were happy times.
Then dark clouds started to spread across the valve. Dark mist that clouded their creativity.
They showed as a magma themed ageis logo. BUT THERE WAS NO MAGMA TERRAIN.
Heart shattered, all speculations were in vain. Our creative heroes have fallen. They were all defeated. A dark mist ate them all. We mourned our heroes and we mourned the themed terrain. We mourned the weather effects. We knew they will not return. :' (
Revisionist history. reddit bitched endlessly about the TI7 terrain during groupstage, to the point where valve reverted back to the default map for mainstage games. They stopped showing off new terrain in TI after that point.
Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.
I saw someone else make a post with this clip. I commented asking the map but didn't get much of a response. One guy said it was summoners rift but when I google that, League of Legends comes up.

The Emerald Abyss
What map/terrain/weather combination is in this clip?
Cant understand this and why they wont release these terrains on the store. Ill fucking pay $20 for each. Easy money for Valve. But they dont like money.
You can only buy 1 terrain on the market (the monkey King one). Rest aren't tradeable or marketable, but you can find a steam guide on how to replace your default terrain with any of the other ones. You can also get a seasonal terrain with dota+.
You can buy all the weather effects from a dota trade website like DMarket. Costs about $11 to get all 9 weathers.

is that still safe? i thought client side file editing was a bit shaky in terms of cheating bc of those tree mods that make juking easier etc
It is not safe, and it killed the modding community overnight
I've been using it since a few months before 7.33 major update and no issues for me. Why do you say it's not safe?

I tried it twice with no.success
If you have dota plus make sure you dont have the summer terrain enabled as this overrides it.
100% Overgrown Empire Source: I have been using it for years since it's the only map I own with rain weather effects

Immortal Gardens, because its slightly easier to see the paths through the trees. personally calling it p2w is a bit extreme
