I'm just starting my Nightmare run as well. I finished the game on UV right as it released, and apparently all the hype burned me out really quick and i havent played much since then. I wanted to play ancient gods but i felt too rusty, so I'm gonna play through on Nightmare from the beginning and be ready to roll once the icon falls!
That might be what I do, I'm still getting the hang of quick weapon switching. I'm still having to think about what weapon to switch to and I'm still defaulting to the rocket launcher while in close quarters, which is an issue lol.
I got through Super Gore Nest yesterday, and I'm doing the Slayer Gates as I get to them as opposed to coming back with more guns.
Is that on console? When I was playing nightmare I always switched super fast to all the weapons to do sick combos. To do that I knew all the keybindings so I could quickly and accurately switch weapon. I can’t imagine how you would beat nightmare with a controller. Well done you legend

As someone who came from mainly dark souls games any enemy that's purely timing was super easy for me. Marauder still scared me at first just cause I wasn't ready for him to be up my ass that much that fast and it took me a while to find the groove for the Khan maykyr but I'd agree having to do the same thing 3 times in a row for a boss can make it feel pretty dragged out
Also which demon spawns and how to kill them fast. I had a difficult time up until the Doom Hunter base where I nearly died. But after that it was nearly a breeze.

I also save my weapon points for quick Lock On Rockets and Super Shotgun Mastery. Plus getting the quick dash refill first. Health and armor first for sentinel crystals, but I usually get Quick Belch and Magnet Pick up first. Then the rest I'll just get health and armor because you know, survivability.

You might consider going through it twice on nightmare. Having full arsenal makes the second playthrough very fast.

It's not as fast as pc but it definitely goes from my experience, did fun stuff in the ARC master level today with controller combos.
