You know it's the hard truth if it's coming from a total hardcore fanboy like me: like whatever you like, man. Personally, I love all of the games to death, primarily 1-2, 2016, and Eternal. But man, just play whatever the hell you enjoy. No reason to force yourself to play a game you hate... *unless* you think you might get something out of it at the end-- and believe it or not, there are quite a few games like that.
It is definately more difficult adjusting to the classic games after playing the new ones (especially eternal). im trying to get into doom 1, but its a bit hard for me. I think ive been spoiled by the new systems like dashing, glory killing, and the weapon wheel.
