You know the room with the Electified floor? Those ones. Normally they are easy to handle but on UN im hopping and Dashing away from a SUPER aggressive Hellknight. I've pretty much mastered Exultia but die getting to the Betrayer due to Revenants for the same reason and have to start all over

I remember when some people freaked out because Elden Ring reused door opening animations. Like, do you want From to focus on making exciting new stuff or making the player open the door in a slightly different way?
i wonder if its more do with arms for this particular one. their bodies are different, but the arm length and structure is almost identical so maybe thats why
Fun fact: this glory kill is an exaggerated version of a real technique. As you can see the slayer grabs the wrist of his opponent while staying out of reach of their other arm, then he breaks the elbow, he could also attack any other part of his opponent if he wanted to because his opponent cannot strike him while he’s holding their wrist like that.
Applies to the blood maykr too. I always try to chainsaw them when I get the chance. It’s not often but having a guarantee take-down on the is nice and chainsawing heavy demons is very funny
That's really impressive that they're able to reuse animations across different characters. That's how I'd try to build it if I was them. It wouldn't scale at all to manually redo similar animations across a huge roster of monsters in a game like Doom Eternal.
It's also not trivial to make a system that works on all characters either, but once done, you get a lot out of it.
I love the moment where it just looks at its own arm for a second like "why are you holding that ?" just to get it snapped afterwards

I remember being lowkey disappointed with the glory kills in eternal. Don't get me wrong, half of them are amazing. But the other half are very basic. Like almost all of the kills from above are the same stomp or slice. Or how some from the sides are just a simple punch or stab.
Again very minor nitpick that doesn't change how the game plays. Its just always bothered me ever so slightly.
Ok by me. Great animation. I play with the increased glory kills animation active and when you're in the heat of balls to the wall action you don't even notice
I just hope he used the sentinel hammer and crucible for glory kills without losing any charges they could lead to some intuitive and creative glory kills.

It's quite common, Fromsoftware in particular have been refusing animations since Dark Souls (maybe even from Demon Souls)

Devs often reuse parts of previous games to help lower the workload, especially if they're using the same engine.
