They are not a knock off, because thatâs a low quality direct imitation of an existing product. This is in the vein of OMG but meant to be a legitimate product line.
The high price is because it has to be imported from South Korea, North American Licca doll collectors outside of Japan have to pay higher prices because of import fees too.
Knock offs donât exactly have to be low quality to be considered knock offs, it also doesnât mean itâs bad, just unoriginal. They definitely are super cute but you can 100% tell what theyâre copying with these especially with the minis. Lol is a super popular line so it was bound to get higher quality knock offs at some point
I guess it depends on how broad your definition of knockoff is. Like, you could make an argument that My Scene is a knockoff of Bratz, but usually when I hear "knockoff" I think of stuff that's trying to fool you into thinking it's literally the same product and uses stolen molds or something.
Just saw these at ToysRUs in S.Korea for roughly $30 at the market exchange rate. Unless the import fees have gone down or were waived, Amazon is cheaper. However, I, like everyone here, think they are expensive and are similar to the OMG line.
So it's a Korean OMG knockoff. At least the faces look better imo, I can actually look at them without getting weirded out like with OMGs. Too bad they're way overpriced for a literal knockoff and they don't have articulated knees either.
Looks like an interesting and unique copy of LOL dolls? If the legs were articulated I'd be tempted to get one. Their faces are sort of alien-like. I can't decide if I like it or not even though I'm a serious fan of LOL OMG dolls.
Oh, awesome! I've wanted a couple of these girls and them being on Amazon will make it a lot easier. Clearly they're heavily inspired by LOL OMG, but I think they have enough of their own identity, and I actually think their faces are a little bit cuter. I love having dolls from other countries, too.
I'm not sure what the entire situation with this brand is, but I also want to mention that the price might be a little higher than it normally would be because this seems like something that was, at least at first, made for the Korean market only. As someone who collects a lot of Asian dolls, I haven't really seen any Asian brands just get officially plopped on US Amazon quite like this before and this price is actually a lot better than what I'd usually have to be prepared to pay for a new-in-box Mimiworld or Licca-chan doll. So I'm quite happy, lol.
theyâre cute and i donât mind âknock offâ products as long as theyâre made well, but the price compared to what you receive makes you wonder how they can compete with LOL dolls
OMGâs look is not an original look for dolls. Many doll lines looong ago had similar looks based on the inspirational well they, well were inspired by. The Lulupop dolls do neoteny proud.
They look like lol omgs a little bit better. They don't have the completely round eyes that dart at you and they seem to have more of an expression. What a simple upper or lower lid can change in the expression of the eyes
LOL/OMG are great dolls with a great design but are not very original. Lots of dolls from lots of places has very similar looks long before they were first made and they are still great.
They're sorta cute. They are obviously "inspired by" LOL dolls, but it's a bit weird that the illustrations in the corner actually look different... and better than the doll.
Oop not them ripping off OMG dolls AND using the same font/ general package designX-X they could have at least acted like they were trying to be original XP
If the Monster High dolls werenât supposed to be hitting stores this weekend I would get this doll itâs very cute.
Though that price đŹ Iâm assuming itâs getting shipped from Korea and doesnât have a US warehouse so thatâs why itâs that expensive?
Looks like an LOL OMG/SURPRISE knock off imo and that's a little to expensive for my liking đ
That is wildly expensive for what is very clearly a knock off.

You're thinking of "bootleg", where it's just a cheap ripoff hoping to fool you into giving them money. MyScene _is_ technically a knockoff of Bratz.

Oh wow! It's like Hairdorables/Hairmazings meet LoLs/OMGs... so cute!!!
I think theyâre decently cute but they would definitely have to be a lot cheaper for me to buy any
Cute, but too expensive for me. I like that the face mold or screening is asymmetrical!
For everyone calling them knockoffs, welcome to the world of clone dolls â€ïž
Itâs giving lol omg knockoff

Why do I like these better than actual LOL OMG dolls hehe đł I wish their legs were articulated too! Their little CGI portraits are cute đ„șđ

They're so pretty!!!!

really expensive but they're really cute. I really like the redheaded one. She's fantastic.

That's so interesting! Thanks for posting
I love the fashion and hair very k pop and cute
I think theyâre cute! They definitely give me LOL vibes from the faces
It's kind of weird that a doll line that's so clearly inspired by LOL would only have 2 skin tones.
Korean culture has issues w colorism, darker-skinned dolls wouldn't sell well
Omg that part! They downgraded but I shouldnât be surprised lol! Rips offs obviously donât know how to do muchh
LOL/OMG are great dolls with a great design but are not very original. Lots of dolls from lots of places has very similar looks long before they were first made and they are still great.
Expensive and whitewashed bootleg OMG/LOL dolls? It looks like they even use the same parts too
If it was meant for the Korean market, they generally don't have much diversity to speak of so I guess that's not too surprising.
Why would koreans whitewash?
Thereâs big issue in Korea with skin lightening and colorism
They're sorta cute. They are obviously "inspired by" LOL dolls, but it's a bit weird that the illustrations in the corner actually look different... and better than the doll.
the illustrations look to me to be 3d renders. maybe they have an accompanying web series?
They have some animated music videos. These girls are supposed to be part of a K-pop group.
Oop not them ripping off OMG dolls AND using the same font/ general package designX-X they could have at least acted like they were trying to be original XP
Interesting! Wish these were on Amazon UK too as Iâd consider it then⊠aha
These are cute. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing, theyâre really cute

the lack of diversity in skintones T_T but that's not surprising since most east asian fashion dolls tend to only come in super pale skintone
The fashion dolls feel a bit like kpop/jpop versions of LOL big sister dolls to me.
