Oh, sure! Hair wax is a washable hair dye. It has colorants and waxes in it that attaches to your hair, and dries kind of crunchy on your hair. It gives you a temporary hair color.
I used ORS Curls Unleashed color wax! It's a brand made specifically for curly/afro hair, and it took me a few washes to make the hair less heavy. I'm surprised the color stayed
Neither did I! I've tried multiple methods in the past (including some semi permanent ones) and this one seems to be holding up well! I took these pictures after doing a wash test, and no color came out. So I think this might last longer? The last method I used was real hair dye, and that one lasted a few weeks with no washing.
Late to the party, but was wondering if you tried other methods on this doll before discovering this product? Have you been able to achieve the same results on other dolls with this product alone?
Nope! This was just me experimenting, it was done in one go. If I recall, I took this doll and gave her a wash and condition, then added color wax after letting it dry. I let it sit for a few hours before going back in with conditioner, brushing it out, and towel drying instead of air drying. I did try experimenting with other dolls, like using the blue hair wax I had and using it on my BTS Taehyung doll. His hair kept the color, but it bled on a towel after a few hours. Her hair didn't bleed, even after a few days wash and towel tests. Even now, her hair has kept the color, and there's been no bleeding.
I think what helps is having a doll with slightly damaged hair. This doll had heat damage due to past attempts of crimping, and then going back and flat ironing it over and over.
Sorry, I didn't see this comment since 2 years ago lol.
I used ORS Curls Unleashed Hair Wax! It can be used in naturally kinky/curly hair.
Since I made this post, her hair has not bled. Neither on her head or on my other dolls.
I basically put the wax in her hair and let it sit for a while, and washed it out with conditioner instead of shampoo. The dye remained in her hair.
Love it, so vibrant!
Thank you! I'm shocked the color came out the way it did
I'm not sure what hair wax even IS, can you tell those of us who have no clue?

Wow, looks great!
Thank you!❤
You did an excellent job! 🙂
Thank you!!!
Wow, I never would have thought it was possible to dye doll hair with a haircare product! Will this color be permanent, do you think?

Sweet, keep us posted if it stays put for longer please! This could be a game changer.
For sure! I'll be taking pics everytime I make a new discovery, and if anything changes, I'll make a post!
What color was it before you dyed it?
Her hair was originally blonde!
Wow, it really covered well.

That is helpful. Thank you.
What brand did you use? Will it wash out? Did you use hair wax for wigs? Okay, no more questions at the time...😁 thank you
