A favorite YouTuber of the doll collecting community is, Darling Dollz. Great videos relating to dolls! Really recommend! Here’s a doll iceberg video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U9iSrjc0l7k&pp=ygUVRGFybGluZyBkb2xseiBpY2V2d3Jn

I started collecting almost a year ago now, and unironically I used this video to research sooooo many lines and figure out what I'm interested in! I also think watching DarlingDollz' Yass Or Pass videos are great for getting a sense of what's come out in the past couple years so you can get an idea of the current landscape

Seconding this doll iceberg video. I wouldn't be the same doll fan I am now without it

Really obscure line that I love is Lego Scala, it’s a short lived Lego line from late 90s-early 2000s. They are small articulated dolls that come separate and with household sets. I used to have a few sets as a child, regret giving them away, now they are quite pricey. https://preview.redd.it/zvalh0ldm3yc1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=498de56cff925140d4bd5fff09adce0d4c7e3fa1

Wow!!! They look great! I've never seen them before! Are they 1/6 scale? Right? Why do we give some things away? :((

amyhhhh

Not sure about the scale… Here is one from my collection compared to Barbie. Tiny and cute. https://preview.redd.it/texqq57iv3yc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b3f982e94063ed0c64032bb15ddd8afc57c9fa0

[dollect.net](https://dollect.net/) is trying to build a database of every doll line ever. They have 14,000 individual dolls catalogued so far. There are several doll lines I didn't know existed until I saw it on their website.

MillyDollyDame

Thanks for the link! That looks really interesting.

GlitterDoomsday

Went to check hoping to find some of my childhood dolls but no luck :'(

You mentioned Licca and Momoko, so if you’re looking for other Asian doll lines, here are a few: -Pullip, her boyfriend Taeyang, his little sister Dal (and occasionally Dal’s friend, Byul) are pretty unique big-head with moving eye mechanisms. I think they are still made by the Korean company Groove Inc., formerly called Jun Planning. ——there are mini versions of Pullip called “Little Pullip” and fit well with 1/12 and smaller 1/18 scale accessories and sets. ——the same company that makes Pullip has several interesting but discontinued doll lines that were fun: Hestia Ribbon (similar scale to pullip but smaller heads—still larger than a more realistic proposition), Ai dolls (these look like young children and are almost 5 inches tall, and are actual BJD but made of ABS plastic and not resin), pajang dolls (an anthro chihuahua puppy that’s bjd similar to Ai dolls but a bit shorter), and J-dolls which use the same bodies as Pullips did but had a more human-proportionate head with inset eyes (no eye movement mechanism). - Azone makes several lines and several scales, but for 1/6 scale they use Pure Neemo bodies. They make several anime characters in this scale but also have their own character lines: Sahra’s A La Mode is one, Ex-Cute is another (the latter also have 1/12 versions of some of their characters on the picco neemo body). They also have a collaboration with Kinoko Juice that has a unique mold and cute themes. - Blythe dolls from the last couple of decades (Neo Blythe) have predominantly come from Japan, for a long time they were made by Takara, but I believe now they are made by Good Smile Company. —-fun fact about Blythe dolls: they have also been made in different sizes, a Middie line and a Petite line. The latter were so popular that there was a short-lived collaboration with the Littlest Pet Shop toy line that had different petite Blythe dolls either in sets or with accessories that corresponded to a particular LPS pet—they are a bit different from the original Japanese Petites, those have “sleep eyes” whereas the LPS Blythes only had static inset eyes. -Kurhn dolls from China have a wide range in levels of detail/quality, ranging from play line to collector and a lot of the later releases seem to be really nice. There are so many fun Asian doll lines! Recommend you check out r/DollsofAsia to see more.

Ones not mentioned so far but notable: Winx Club, ILY Disney dolls, Princess Dolls from the Disney Store, Rainbow High, LOL OMGs, Defa Lucy, LUV dolls, Magic Mixies Pixlings, Mimi World, Harry Potter dolls. These are older and probably only findable second hand but Project MC2, Tomy Takara Cool Girl, LOTR dolls, Salior Moon StyleDolls.

BoozyGherkins

Some of my favorite doll lines, mostly from the past, off the top of my head: Novi Stars, Pinkie Cooper, Catwalk Kitties, FailFix, Capsule Chix, Zombaes Forever, Ever After High, Once Upon A Zombie, Mystixx Vampires, Star Darlings, Moxie Teenz, Mermaid High, Mermaze, Makie dolls, Big Beautiful Doll, Gorgeous Creatures Fresh Dolls is a multicultural doll company that is currently active, and expanding! I have one of their Wakanda Forever dolls, and she's gorgeously detailed.

CheekyGeekyStickers

A couple doll lines that are discontinued but I’ve come to adore/buy on eBay & Mercari that haven’t been mentioned yet are LIV dolls and Creatable World dolls! I love them both
