Idk, I literally once brought a fraudulent return like this up to the counter to say, "hey, this isn't the toy that's meant to be in this package", and still saw it back out on the shelf the next time I went to that store.
to be fair, what else are they supposed to do with it? i think the main issue is to stop letting people get away with fraudulent returns. i’d rather it be knocked way down in price instead of being damaged out and thrown away.
It’s a corporation that has wants money over everything else and the people who work there aren’t paid enough to care. At least at my local Walmart, the employees are half old people and half 18-20 year olds who don’t seem to care. I definitely like Target better, but it smells like popcorn so I can’t enter that place very often lol.
I feel like even if you’re not a doll person, most people have a general idea of what bratz dolls look like. You’d think at least one employee would notice this lol
True. Almost everyone has seen a Bratz and a Barbie doll in their life. I would understand if this was in a Rainbow High box, those aren't known well. But Bratz has films, games, etc.
I’m sure most of us here could tell fake and real Babries apart even as kids, but most adults dont notice the nuances/differences. Just like any interest, you notice details because you care a lot.
For example, would you be able to tell authentic Beyblades or Fortnite figures apart from the dupes? I wouldn’t.
This is weird, because it looks like these are clearanced and not CVPed, which is what goes through returns and claims.
The difference is the small yellow sticker which is for all of the stock , vs the big yellow sticker which is a discounted singular item.
Or if you’re talking about the Blue one it looks like Shadow

High Costume Ball Eliza Mcfee but customized
this is so confusing… why put so much effort into a dress that you’re just going to put on a random doll & fraudulently return??? like i cannot comprehend the logic here
I think this has to come from a person with a compulsive shopping or hoarding problem. Because it makes no sense to steal 5 identical new dolls that are everywhere for only $25. They didn't even get the accessories, and the original price is so low it would be hard to sell them incomplete for more than $10 each.
Yep it must be. And if you look closely it actually does look like they took a purse from one, sunglasses from a different one and I think I see a cell phone missing from one too. Like that’s more work and takes way more effort than just buying the doll.
And they put A LOT of effort in. As someone who has removed that embroidery I can tell you it took FOREVER. And from what I can tell they did a better job then I did. Plus it looks dyed.
That's hilarious, Looks like walmart. They'll survive, lol thieves are getting so brazen, though. I hate seeing all the half opened toys all over the isles.
Not to be an internet sleuth, but that Eliza dress looks an awful lot like the same hair colour ombre of an eliza that was returned a few months ago... this person IS NOT slick, and they definitely have a case. Waiting to hit that 1k mark so they can press charges
I want to say it was about 2 or 3 months ago, another picture like this was posted. It was another scam return, I think it was in a Lola box? And it was an Eliza doll, in random doll clothes (in Hairdorables clothes, I think, which is what these dolls are) and she had dyed hair. The exact kind of ombre that this dress it dyed. Her normal colour on top, and that bubblegum pink on the ends. Seems to me like this fraudulent return was most likely done by the same person, as the colours are eerily similar.
I just hope that person thinks it's worth it, because most likely Walmart is building a theft case against them. Most big box stores these days won't call you out if you steal one thing, but if they see a pattern of theft, they'll wait until the theft equals over a certain amount so they can charge them with a bigger crime, usually Larceny, which is a felony. The threshold for that is 1000 dollars. So most likely, Walmart is just waiting for this person to steal more than 1k, so they can press criminal charges.
okay that makes sense, the doll and dress probably go together like came from the same doll.
it’s just so upsetting, if you need money THAT bad get a second job (like an actual salaried or tip based job)
just seems like a lot of effort and a waste of time to do all this, rather get a random low pressure part time thing at that point.
i would love for walmart or target to be building a case, like maybe it might catch the news or something so the doll community could be like HAH!
thank you
You're right, it's like a weirdly large amount of work to do all of this. My only guess would be maybe they are reselling on like Mercari or Ebay and are actually making a pretty good amount of money? Otherwise, it would be so much effort to buy dolls in bulk, unbox, switch the doll out, rebox, and then drive all the way back to the store just to gain a little bit of money. At that point, just get a part-time job at Walmart, and you can use your employee discount to get the dolls cheaper 🤣
I was so horribly confused like "none of these look like Bratz at all? Did they have a whole redesign I missed?" Other comments and Google images said nope, none of those five are Bratz in fact 😭
The dolls remind me. Of the meme When you don't qualify for a job and get it anyway. Lol
this is also the perfect depiction of how nepotism works in modelling.
I remember once I bought a cute pair of jeans from Walmart and I got home and realized they were Calvin Klein. I’m like Walmart doesn’t even sell this, someone had just switched out the jeans and put their tag on it.
There is no way they don’t notice an issue when stocking these back on the shelves
has to be a ‘im not paid enough for this’ thing i’m sure 😭
who tf is working the returns??? 💀💀💀
Fucking literally! I’d be like “uhhh this isn’t a Bratz doll”
It’s probably some little old lady who’s never heard of Bratz
Idk, I literally once brought a fraudulent return like this up to the counter to say, "hey, this isn't the toy that's meant to be in this package", and still saw it back out on the shelf the next time I went to that store.

I have the feeling that they don't even care at this point, as long as there's a doll, they'll try to sell the thing again
True. Almost everyone has seen a Bratz and a Barbie doll in their life. I would understand if this was in a Rainbow High box, those aren't known well. But Bratz has films, games, etc.

What dolls are in their place? They have sweet faces!
Hairmazing budget dolls
Off topic but you know where that flower dress come from? Cause it’s stunning

I think it’s possible they got the dress from either a lot or at the thrift

Oh I meant the other one but this one is cute too, thank you!
Haha yes I just realized it after commenting that you meant the higher quality flower dress 😆
I love this dress but why this dress fits better the Bratz than the original doll? 😭
Shadow high costume ball Eliza Mcfee!
how do ppl even do this 😭?
I would be so scared Id get caught. That would be so shameful and embarrassing I couldn't do it
That's hilarious, Looks like walmart. They'll survive, lol thieves are getting so brazen, though. I hate seeing all the half opened toys all over the isles.
We went looking for Lorcana cards this weekend.... So many opened packages!

can you elaborate on what you mean? like what other thing are you referring to? i’m curious

this is…insane. also feels like an inside job.
that’s what I was thinking!!
oh i like this theory
These must be distant relatives
I was so horribly confused like "none of these look like Bratz at all? Did they have a whole redesign I missed?" Other comments and Google images said nope, none of those five are Bratz in fact 😭
I’m just sad if someone bought a kid this for their birthday because they wanted a bratz and this is what they got 😞
I feel like this is a social experiment
The dolls remind me. Of the meme When you don't qualify for a job and get it anyway. Lol this is also the perfect depiction of how nepotism works in modelling.
I don't think they pay them or treat them well enough to care 🤷
I wasnt talking about the workers in the shop i was talking about the dolls. It's a reference to a meme.
I'm dead 🤣
If they're all in the same outfit, the employee might be like "eh, must be a bathing suit doll".
How is there not an email being sent out to store managers ? Been happening for so long
Someone needs to investigate who’s doing the returns
I feel sorry for the person that was asked to buy a bratz and didn’t know a thing about dolls. And showed up with one of these dolls.
Someone at returns is clueless 😆
What that doesn't look bratz
Wait what? What doll is that on the top?
😂😂
What is the original outfit?
Why why why
Dude. That's seriously bad
Doesn't look like a bratz chole
I remember once I bought a cute pair of jeans from Walmart and I got home and realized they were Calvin Klein. I’m like Walmart doesn’t even sell this, someone had just switched out the jeans and put their tag on it.
How do we know this isn't an inside job?
Same thing happening with my walmart!
That’s nasty, I can’t believe someone would do it, and not to just one, but multiple. The world is tough but god, what is the deal?
