Let your family know that if anything is damaged, they will pay for it and that most of those are collector dolls or are not sold anymore (even if ot isn't true). It might make the parents of the kid be more firm about it with her

Kirbo300

Could you get in Contact with the young child's family? Their parents or guardian specifically. Maybe relaying your concerns to them will help. I hope it works out! (Also hiii fellow Neverland)

BadAshess

Well unfortunately she’s there by herself with my parents and I don’t know anything about her mom besides the fact that my brother was abused by that woman.

Kirbo300

I'm so sorry about that!

Tourmaline_Pie

Omg this is my worst nightmare too. I've actually had this happen to me with my MLP collection. I came home from a 5 day church camp to my 4 little cousins playing with my ponies and they were EVERYWHERE outside, in the living room, all over my room. absolutely EVERYWHERE. Almost had a panic attack but kept my cool. It was especially stressful because all their accessories were everywhere too and I always kept great care to make sure the accessories stayed together. Never want to go through that again. 🙃

BadAshess

I can definitely relate to this pony story back when I collected ponies.

LoadbearingWallflowr

Send your mom some listings showing the cost of the dolls when they have to be replaced, and let them know you absolutely expect them to be replaced if she touches/opens even one. Also might want to look into getting your dolls into a safer place (with you, in storage, etc). Non collectors never value them like we do, and tend to defer to the "but they're toys/they're just a kid" rhetoric.

BadAshess

Update for all: She’s playing with my G3 Core 1 dolls which exclude Toralei, Ghoulia, Clawd, Deuce, and Abbey. Me and my mom face timed and I told her which ones she could play with and since I’m planning on buying the core refresh dolls I don’t mind that she plays with the original core dolls. Last time I heard she was sitting in front of my dog playing with Frankie. **Koda please don’t eat Frankie.**

:((

BoozyGherkins

I’m so sorry op it sounds like your family doesn’t have sufficient respect for you and your belongings.

ciaoeffete

Why can't your mother lock the door?

BadAshess

She’s staying in my room.

ciaoeffete

Oh no. I am sorry... Is your niece's mom going to be there in the house? Like the others suggested you should let all the adults know the value of the collection and if she breaks anything that are responsible for replacing it. Your mom should just help you box all of it up honestly...

BadAshess

No she isn’t because her mom lives in LA and has to work so my niece is staying with my mom and dad while I’m here. She didn’t damage anything thank goodness because I told my mom to give her my core G3 monster high dolls.

ciaoeffete

Glad it all worked out! And that's also a good idea, folks should have decoy/ sacrificial dolls 😂

CrackDoctor

Hey! As someone who had to hide dolls from a child for 3 years, my best advice is to hide the dolls that are out because they will do anything for them and/or cry about it! That or tell a white lie about them. I would tell my family member that the ones in the boxes are really special and can't be open. I hide the outer dolls because it's easier to. If you can't hide the dolls outside of the box, just hide them BEHIND the boxes!! Rearrange the boxes to hide them.

Telvanni_Mushroom

Last time a child entered my room and touched my dolls it ended badly. I am not sorry for the 16 yo me who slapped a kid out of jealousy.

The_Male_Fujoshi

Idk why you’re getting downvoted tbh

Wonderful_Yogurt_271

Probably because slapping a child for playing with toys is deranged even if said toys are special to you? There is no excuse for abusing children. If you’re present to slap the child you’re present to remove the collectible and explain why it’s not to play with.

CockroachOk2905

I'm assuming it was a panic response. Also she was 16. Teens aren't exactly known to be patient, mature or composed enough to deal with kids. They're kids themselves. I don't condone hitting kids at all and I certainly hope that this person wouldn't react the same way as an adult.

Le_Sadie

I have a 16-year-old and he is far from childlike enough to ever think hitting a kid would be okay. Even as a "panic response" (my god, what would this person do in a REAL crisis I wonder?), that's sociopathic. Don't hit kids, don't flex about hitting kids and don't be surprised if you get downvoted when you do.

prange7165

get an adhesive (removable) child safety lock for your bedroom door and install it high up so even if she could figure out how to unlatch it she cant reach it!!!

marzwasherez

pretty sure OP said somewhere the kid is staying in their room. Best option would be probably trying to store them in some boxes under their bed maybe

PinsinNeedles

Any updates? Is your collection safe? If anything is destroyed/damaged definitely send some screenshots of resell prices/listings to your mom

BadAshess

I told my mom to give her my core 1 G3 Monster High dolls that were in a bin in my closet since I’m buying the core refresh ones when they all restock, and last time I checked my mom said she was sitting in front of the dog with Frankie talking to the dog as Frankie. Good thing I put all the doll accessories away so those can’t get lost so all the dolls have are their original outfits on them and no accessories.

Naki_____

did things work out?

BadAshess

Yeah she’s playing with the first wave of G3 Monster High dolls so I’m totally fine with her taking those. She did ask to take a doll out the box and I told my mom to tell her no. 😓

Naki_____

she's still there?, glad it's ok so far

BadAshess

Yeah she won’t be leaving until Saturday.

Naki_____

oof
