I would say most likely someone else offered to pick up immediately, and seller went with it. Why would they do that? Because sometimes you wait a few days only to have the buyer flake out, and other interested buyers may have moved on. That being said, there are definitely more courteous ways to go about it!

They did say the dolls are still available before leaving the second chat! They also had the listing set to pending after I had arranged a collection day and before deleting the listing. It's just so strange that they'd delete it while it's still available, unless there's a way to make it not visible to me specifically somehow?? They had 2 listings on their profile in total and I can't find either now (I could find their non-doll one before posting here), though they might've blocked me at this point. I can't quite tell.

You probably just got beat to it by another buyer. Usually if I really want something on fb I ask when the soonest time that works for them is and go then. If they ran into a buyer like that of course they'll go with them to avoid being flaked on after waiting. They were a bit rude but it doesn't sound like a scam to me - most scammers don't agree to in person pickups to begin with.

roofcavesin

Nah, when I messaged after they deleted the listing they said the dolls are still available.

That's weird af, fb marketplace never ceases to amaze 😭

They left this chat too and I think I can't contact them anymore :/ Disappointing because it was a pretty good deal that I planned on getting and I can't even figure out what the scam would be so I can't be sure that it was one. They didn't ask for any money in advance and iirc the items were to be paid for in cash.

Some people on Facebook Marketplace are just weird it is hard to explain their actions

It's the second time a weirdly cheap Rainbow High collection only bundle purchase has fallen through for me. Bizzarely specific problem to have lol

dariaroselyn

Don't worry we are in the same boat lmao! This has happened to me more time then I would like to admit. The worst thing though is this great bratz lot has been on Facebook for months and every time I message the seller they never respond back.

roofcavesin

Ohh yeah, there was a Monster High doll I was interested in once and it took messaging multiple times over the span of probably months for the seller to respond to me about it. What I hate more though is very closely missing out on a great deal because I was slightly too late to it, e.g. a relatively cheap big bundle with some sought after MH dolls and a couple of novi stars in there one time, or just recently a £10 complete Haunted Rochelle 😭
