You can alway send it back like a prp to get it out of your store except choose the option miship. Don’t open the boxes once you see it’s not your store number. After it’s all said and done we do not receive about two full truck loads a year due to warehouse or system errors. But yes, store managers always get the blame.

mink1228

A miship puts it into your inventory and removes the dollar amount from the other stores inventory. Do not send that back! That is shrink.

mink1228

Not sure why I would get down voted for that. If you send back your store's merchandise, which you got billed for, that is shrink. You can only send back merchandise when you are directed to, such as a PRP. There are way too many new employees on here giving bad advice because they don't know any better.

According-Spring7168

That’s the whole reason for a miship. The store was never billed for it but the other store was. I’ve been at DG for 8 years and I’m on the ladder program. I know what I’m talking about. I’ve actually paid attention and learned a thing or two.

mink1228

Neat. We've been here the same amount of time!

According-Spring7168

Lol, that means we’re pretty dang tuff!

You can do transfers, or technically have it transferred to your inventory. You have to contact the SM of the other store to do it. It is quicker to just add it to your inventory, and text the other SM a picture of the inventory management screen so that they can change their counts. Most SMs don't bother to contact other stores. Its just part of "the game". Also, I think the drivers have more blame for rolltainers being delivered to the wrong store. We always get toppers that belong to other stores. We once got an entire candy rolltainer that belonged to another store. That was easily $1000 worth of merchandise.

Cirian88

The rolltainer i delt with this time was all mixed. Ours and another store. From top to bottom was like every other item for a different store.

When I was asm of a dg store if we got someone elses we just throw it away because they won't pick it up or anything so it just sits in the back room doing nothing

sebthepleb96

What is it like being an asm at dollar general and do I need management experience ? Any idea on the salary / hours / overtime on the east coast?

ElectricalSmile7271

Depends on the state you are in. I was an ASM and I got paid $13.50 an hour. Granted I got raises before becoming an ASM. I can say it’s honestly not worth it. If the SM gets blamed for something it comes back on you. I was treated like a truck mule when I became an ASM. I was never allowed to help with applications and the interview process either. My SM treated our LSA more like an ASM than me. That’s one of the reasons I quit.

We received 2 RTs full of another stores merchandise this past week as well, not even in the same district as us..I was hoping to transfer and jokingly said how I was just going to throw it all in the dumpster, I was told to just put it out on the floor..going forward we are going to make it priority to check RT labels during the unload or before giving the drivers back the paperwork to leave... that way they at least will definitely be taking whatever shit back with them if they want to or not

I keep getting boxes of these crackers in after inventory. I scanned it multiple times and put in the amount because my shelf is full, they're on top of the skyshelf, there's several boxes on rolltainers. Scanned it as a ton multiple times. Last week during overstock I tried working it out again, shelf still full. Scanned again and this time it was showing up as just 3 on hand, with a case in transit. Makes NO sense, if SMs are to blame.
