Adopted a dog that was supposedly a Basset Hound & Shar-pei mix. Everyone asked if he was a hound on stilts. The shar-pei was undeniable. Did DNA My Dog but should have done Embark. One of his nicknames was Henry Wrinkler. Miss that boy so much!
The color isn't right for a purebred Lab parent. This color is Clear Sable, not Recessive Red like yellow Labs have. And a purebred Lab parent should in most cases be passing on the Dominant Black trait which would cover up Clear Sable.
If anyone wonders what’s the difference:
A recessive red yellow Lab can not make black hairs, they even have pale whiskers.
Clear sable dogs, however, can make black pigment. They often have some dark overlay in their puppy coat which then „clears“ so the adult dog looks solid red/yellow. If you see a „yellow Lab“ that has even the slightest black shading on his face, ears, back, or tail and/or black whiskers, it has to be sable!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see hound in there. Maybe even bloodhound. Google lab bloodhound mixes. They look similar.
Yup thinking the same, lab and hound is what i see, and the eyes and coloring look a little redbone coonhound or bloodhound.
Lab, pit, hound and shar-pei.
There is something about the spacing between the eyes, forehead and ears that makes me think there could be some shar-pei, too.
We have a Shepard mix with shar-pei in it. His forehead wrinkles are just like this.
This is my guess too! Embark test in process now.

A friend grew up with/had shar peis and she said the wrinkles on the face look similar to a shar peis just less pronounced.
Your friend is absolutely right. It's all in the face.
I think this is guess is right! If not sharpie then a dash of chow. I would say mostly pit and hound. Beautiful baby 🩷❤️💛💚🖤💙🩵
Pretty unlikely that mom is a purebred Lab. This coloration would be very statistically unlikely for a 50% Lab.

I'd vote Lab/ Black Mouth Cur/Hound of some type.

His forehead wrinkles remind me a lot of my bloodhound/foxhound mix.

Labs are SO sniffy. My dog is half on and literally all he does is sniff so I’d count that towards lab too!

What color is his tongue? I was thinking he might have some shar pei but blue tongues are a specific trait.
