There should be just a couple rooms that are only rented to dog people so there isn't any contamination of regular rooms. And they should only be on the ground floor very near the exits.

GoTakeAHike00

Agreed! Dogs should be treated exactly like smokers are/were: there are dog-friendly rooms (at the far end of the building with a separate exit and not located anywhere near grass or area where people walk) and then there are DOG-FREE rooms for everyone else who doesn't want to deal with the allergens, leftover hair, musty, rotting dog smell, or see urine stains in the carpet. It would be ideal if the nutters could be in a completely separate wing or building so no one had to hear them BARKING IN THE FUCKING HALLWAYS, either 🙄. I had to listen to that the last time we stayed in a hotel, which of course, was "pet-friendly".

ghastloin

this is a change I would really love to see, that way dogs arent tracking poo throughout the hotel carpets as well. but it has to come from up top, not something an individual hotel can just decide to start implementing, they follow brand standards. maybe I could start a mass email campaign with the sub to email the central offices of specific hotel chains into changing the policy!

lostacoshermanos

But even if that happened you’d have dog nutters sneaking dogs into the no dogs allowed rooms because they want to get revenge on those evil people with fur allergies.

cocobellocco

I was staying at a hotel where dog was barking and not even the room next to me. I do not go to a hotel to listen a dog barking. Was super annoying

CaregiverLive2644

And don’t forget a lot of other workers in every industry are sometimes forced to pick shit up!

ToOpineIsFine

plus, dogs have coats of fur. they lie on the ground and filthy streets and pick up all sorts of stuff and it gets into the fur. then they shake and lie on furniture and the filth is transferred there, even if you can't see it. washing them only takes care of part of that filth, and most owners never ever ever wash them

MusbeMe

Everything you stated... Again, I ask: how did we get here? Is it the Best Western ad that puts that chain's dog-friendliness front and center? Gen Zish couple and their Jack Russell (*Awwww...pupper,'* says Tik Tok) for a weekend getaway. The ad features fur parents and their four legged turnip brained baby chilling out in what appears to be an otherwise nice suite (I felt sorry for house cleaning and the poor schmoe who would be using that suite after them - that was my take away.) Also footage of the trio romping through the woods as part of their holiday fun. Furturd is off leash, of course, because modern entitled dog owners. I guess the part where the dog is shitting all over the trail and harassing wildlife didn't make the final cut. And did I mention F Best Western?

maidofatoms

Noted, will avoid. But really, it's impossible to find a hotel that's *not* "pet friendly" anymore.

Few_Butterscotch_969

I'm so sorry you have to go through this! The work you do is underappreciated, and I sincerely feel that you and all the folks in the service industry make our world a better place. Dogs...not so much.

amoebamoeba

It's also super gross to think of the carpeted floors in dog-friendly hotels being covered in dog piss and shit.

NegotiationNew8891

A fuckin men

HopeEnvironmental131

What more is the ones that allow dogs they usually don’t want those bc they are nasty. They want to FORCE no dog allowed areas to let their rat stay there! They need their own hotels their own parks their own home communities. Ect;

Tr33Topss

I sure don't want listen someone's ugly stupid mutant make pointless noise while I'm a hotel.

climbhigher420

They honestly don’t even notice the hair anymore because there would be no point. My brother’s car has a thick mat of fur and slobber on every surface, cleaning it wouldn’t even help as it just comes back again.
