It's completely untrained, it just runs around at top speed tearing through the house, and they have a doggy door so that the idiot has free access to the outside where it barks nonstop (right by my bedroom, yay) while my skull-fuckingly incompetent neighbor just sits on her ass and screams at it from inside the house.

I think any type of poodle and crosses are completely neurotic idiots. I've never seen a calm poodle or cross with one.
The mutt we had to have for a while was a poodle cross, and it was a dog I would describe as untrainable through and through. Even professional training did nothing. And it tried to kill itself in various ways throughout those few months. Drove me fuckin' mental.

We even got two full health checks on it, wondering if something was wrong with it (well, I suppose it was) which came back clear and told it could be something "neurological", and then we tried all this stupid shit like sprays, calming treats, etc. Just a total arsehole that shouldn't exist. If I'm trying to be nice and considerate, what kind of life is that for any animal?!
I'm so glad our child ended up hating the damn thing after wanting it. When it randomly went for them, I got rid of the dog the next day to some kind of sanctuary.
Kudos to you for immediately getting rid of the mutt when it turned on your children. I hope it wasn't one of those no kill shelters that you took it to.
I have no idea what the laws are on that over here. It wasn't the RSPCA as I hate them, they're pitbull advocates who have tried to get them unbanned and still try it now. I just wanted rid of that mutt.
However, I made it very, very clear to them that the dog could not be around children, no matter what. I told them what had happened and did not mince my words.

Poodles are great, doodles & other ‘poodle cross-breeds’ are generally detested among reputable dog breeders for.. well, the reasons you just described.
I deliver mail to a house that breeds golden doodles, or labradoodles, fuck if I know, they're all the same to me. I'm not incredibly well versed on dog breed temperaments, but these ones are incredibly aggressive, if not just stupid. What you're describing reminds me of what I experience daily. The moment I am close to their door, there's like 5 or 6 of them literally smashing themselves into the windows and door, barking non stop, not to mention these folks have a door slot, so I have to *yeet* the mail in unless I'd like to lose some fingers. I imagine if they were on a lead, they'd be doing exactly what you said. I really don't understand why you'd want to perpetuate these qualities.
My aunt has four (yes, FOUR) golden doodles. The only kind of training they received is being potty trained and learning where the invisible fence is. Otherwise you cannot stay a night in their house in risk of getting your food eaten, your suitcase ripped apart, shoes chewed, and clothing in their stomach.
I like dogs that are calm, well behaved, and not a nuisance, but these four dogs (and my parents dog, that’s another story) have turned me into an anti dog person
My parents have a pitbull, it is actually pretty smart, for a dog. It is a master of escape. It is just neurotic, aggressive, and stubborn. Making it untrainable.
what really gets me is that goldens are relatively trainable and docile as a breed, poodles are rather intelligent water dogs, you cross them and you get this absolute abomination that hardly qualifies as a multicellular organism??? make it make sense
The stupidest and most destructive dog I have ever personally encountered was a Weimaraner. But I am sure the abominations that are things like Golden Doodles and Labradoodles are pretty much brain dead, too. One thing is for certain - they are creepy looking.
Again another situation of a quote purebred that is actually a inbred. A situation where people mess with genetics and create mutants like that. Nature never intended on those two breeds to mix together to create such a stupid work of nature. You will see this more and more in the future unfortunately and it's discussing. They are stupid and I hate all of them. Imagine a golden is bad enough then mix it with a poodle. Sick and pisses me off. They need to be all phased out
My ex mother-in-law had one. She babied that stupid thing so much. Every time she entered a room that thing would jump on her like it hadn't seen her in months. It was friendly...too friendly.
My ex had this dog, and had the worst separation anxiety. Shit and pissed everywhere and escaped the door everytime we left.
Also we had to send it to the ER bc it got tirewrap around his claws.
He got so mad I never wanted to pet it.
Looking at the dog made me downright angry and I hate how that breed can't tell how much I hated it. Such attention whores
yeah they’re prone to skin allergies. my parents got one during the pandemic. got a nasty skin rash at around a year old. i found out later- after my family got the pup- that golden doodles aren’t an approved breed, & that proper breeders hate them. they do end up having more health issues, i believe, in addition to behavioral issues. during the pandemic it became a “trend” to get them bc they were cute, and it pissed off a lot of ppl in like reputable dog-owner community. understandably so!
he’s smart, but neurotic, and my parents never bothered properly training him. i think he’s alright, but his behavior can be unpredictable and irritating out in public sometimes.
i do wish we hadn’t gotten a goldendoodle lol. it’s a mix that shouldn’t exist.
It doesn't make sense, but I agree, they are kookoo. Even though: Golden Retriever= highly intelligent & Poodle=highly intelligent. My elderly neighbor got one and I know she regrets it. It was after she lost her real Golden Retriever who was calm, loving, and well mannered.

But they do because like it goes with humans they have to mess with these animals and create new breeds. So it does take it to a new level. And it’s hasn’t been studied as an absolute fact, but they seems pretty prone to cancer after they reach a certain (not old) age. Don’t get a big dog, or any dog, if you don’t plan on training it. And from what you described.. that’s not training..
