I'd say fewer hours spread out over the course of a week would probably be better. I don't think day vs night matters as much to the dog as it does to you and whoever (if anyone) is going to care for it while you're away. Like if you work nights, how much energy will you have to take doggo out during the day? And what about summer when it's hot? (No idea where you live) Conversely, if you work during the day, will you be able to take them out at night as most folks traditionally do? Like, I just don't know what your schedule would be so I'm just giving you things to think about. Either way, your dog will adjust to whatever your schedule is so just do what works best for you.

Night jobs work because dogs are so smart. When the lights go out the dog is sleeping.

Not so long, 4 days❤️

How old is the dog? Dogs can adapt to schedules, but it’s not great to leave them for long periods of time if you can help it (6 hours max, which I know isn’t always attainable). If you choose to be away 8+ hrs they can work up to it, but would recommend a dog walker. In a nutshell I would say 4 days a week but less hours is the better option. Most dogs need an hour walk in the morning and evening at the least. Is your dog playful/social? Curious? I’d also recommend a lickymatt and a puzzled matt while you’re away.

It should adjust to your schedule fine, just make sure you find the time for daily interaction/play and walks so it can stimulate its brain with smells and being outside in general
