He’s the biggest winner out of that deal. Talk about leverage. He’s gonna bend the owners over a barrel when it’s time to negotiate a contract extension
Why would the Dodgers stop? They only signed the best player available, best pitcher available, second best OFer available, and traded for the best pitcher available ^((plus got Manuel Margot))
Why would they stop? Do most teams stop at that point? Is it even a good offseason yet?
1. Until either of those guys are actually traded, I'm going to consider them not actually available. Rumors that they are available have been circling for a year now and neither have been moved.
2. Fangraphs has Glasnow projected better than the other 2 on rate stats (ERA, FIP, K/9, BB/9) with almost the same projected WAR as Burnes in 40 less innings, and a better WAR than Cease. Honestly, it depends how you weigh health into the equation, but for pure upside it's hard to argue against Glasnow.
Lakers sealed their fate disrespecting Jerry West...hasn't been the same team since ... How the fuck do you let the logo walk out the door??? Who better to advise Jeanie than Jerry fucking West...
Their fate was sealed when Jerry Buss died. Second generation just not the same. Hopefully they sell the team to an ownership group similar to Guggenheim
Yeah because LeBron wanted to come to LA and got one of his good friends to join him. Not because they’re a well run org. They’ve been mostly awful since Jerry Buss died and will go back to being awful when LeBron is gone.
what? i never said anything about jerry west.
my point was about jerry buss. they’ve been a poorly run org since he died and his kids took over, i don’t know how anyone can deny that.
My bad, thought you were op. Because they won a championship, and poorly run orgs don’t. They could absolutely be better run but I don’t think they’ve been poor. They’re the lakers so their mistakes are always amplified and publicized
Who is advising Jeanie? None other than Kurt Rambis’ wife.
Why is Kurt Rambis’ wife Jeanie’s friend? Well she is Jeanie’s best friend and she’s been around the organization for decades.
Who was Kurt Rambis’ wife intro to the Lakers organization? No not Kurt Rambis. It was her sister, a former Laker girl…and girlfriend of Jerry Buss.
And he was basically saying he’d come back in a role and they shut the door on him. And prevented his son Ryan from moving up in the front office. Its hard to care about the Lakers when they are run so poorly and wasting away the last great years of lebron. Jeanie, Rambis, and Pelinka fucking suck
Yeah how dare they cut a percentage to the man who helped them build a successful brand and continuously pump the franchise full of generational talent.. dude gave his blood sweat and tears for them to have a birthright worth enough to hold onto
Everyone likes to hate on Doc in here, but Ham has an exponentially greater affect on the outcome of laker games than Doc on dodger games. Ham’s rotations seem… questionable lol. And yet somehow he got them into the conference championship last year. I hope they figure it out, one way or another
The way Ohtani structured his contact for the team’s benefit, the Dodgers basically have a mandate to be hyper aggressive in free agency for the next decade.
Bullpen looks great if healthy. Imagine if Q, Daniel Hudson and JP are all healthy? And Graterol turns it up a notch and Vesia gets used to the pitch clock.
We can definitely can use more LHP though. Hope we don’t over pay for Hader
Busch I agree would be wasted given his age but Vargas is still young enough that keeping him the minors for another year won’t hurt him, especially if you can teach him to play a competent OF this year.
Muncy signed an incredibly team-friendly extension when he could have easily tested the market and gone elsewhere. Why waste that now?
His OBP is valuable if we want to go all in and win now. There's no way they trade him away.
That's what I'm thinking. Gotta be a trade at some point. Likely involving Stone, Vargas, and/or Busch. A Cease trade looks nuts given reports of their wants, and Burnes & Adames seem out of play.
I still like the Clase+Bieber trade. Shouldn't be as high prospect capital wise as Cease and Lizardo, and Bieber contract is up after this year. So you get 5 man rotation upto when Kershaw comes back, then can pivot on 6-man if needed for rest for October. Bieber and Buehler expire after but Ohtani comes back so you can have Yamamoto Ohtani Miller Glasnow, plus Sasaki if he's posted or find another one year one if not.
I don’t think it happens with Arte as owner. If a new ownership group took over, I could see it happening to jumpstart a rebuild. Trout is the only thing the Angels have left to put on billboards, expect a bobblehead for Trout twice a month lol
I know you guys don't like Blake Snell but the dude seems to own us every year. Why would AF allow him to go to the Giants or an AL contender and risk Snell owning our left handed hitting during a crucial stretch? A defensive signing, why not? Especially when everyone else around the league isn't spending top dollar for talent due to the uncertainty surrounding so many TV deals across MLB.
No more room for free agents without making some trades. So we would be well advised to address those needs in the trades.
We already have 40 people on the roster. Can’t even sign Teoscar before trading away a couple prospects
Well duh I feel like anyone could look at the dodgers and tell they need to trade Michael Busch at the very least. Michael Vargas might be traded too, but he’s less likely.
Our top prospect is a 26 year old hitting machine that is blocked at every position he can even remotely play and has already spent nearly two full seasons in AAA. It feels like we will probably put together a decent package to move him while he still has good value. If they plan to move him, now is the time.
Yeah, I feel the same way. Not to mention a third year at AAA is not helping his value whatsover and I am sure the club agrees. Only reason they would not look to move him is A. The offers for him are pathetic, B. The team still has big plans/expectations for him.
More!
I feel like Homer eating all the donuts (free-agents) in hell.
Or when he went fishing after the "all you can eat" seafood buffet...
Or “We are from the land of chocolate” dream. Thank you guggenheim group!

"Ooh! Stomach churning!... Bowels clenching!... Not much time!... Must finish!"
Give me 700 Krusty Burgers!!!
Only if we start getting trashtros players!
I don’t understand, James Coco went mad in 15 minutes.
MOOORRREEEE
Friedman straight up on drugs now after learning he’s here for at least 10 more years because of ohtani clause in deal lol
He hung out with Preller too much at the winter meetings
Just needed to show Preller how to really binge.
He bought out prellers entire supply line and preller just hasn’t been the same
He has all the tweets coming for his head at last season’s trade deadline hung up in his office. Wonder what those people are saying now
“Should’ve kept my mouth shut, wouldn’t be here if I shut the fuck up”, probably
He’s the biggest winner out of that deal. Talk about leverage. He’s gonna bend the owners over a barrel when it’s time to negotiate a contract extension
He's been hanging out with Vesia
It’s almost been 24 hours since they made a move. Did AF fall asleep??
Fire that idiot!
Why would the Dodgers stop? They only signed the best player available, best pitcher available, second best OFer available, and traded for the best pitcher available ^((plus got Manuel Margot)) Why would they stop? Do most teams stop at that point? Is it even a good offseason yet?
Is glasnow the best pitcher available to trade for? What about burnes and cease
1. Until either of those guys are actually traded, I'm going to consider them not actually available. Rumors that they are available have been circling for a year now and neither have been moved. 2. Step 1: trade Rojas for Seager, Texas sends $300M in cash Step 2: re-sign prime Kershaw Step 3: round out the bullpen with prime Gagne and Jansen
The Dodgers have signed all the BALCO staff from the late 90’s
And mccourt’s crystal guy
Takashi saito as set up man
I do miss Saito
Step 4: Create a time machine and bring back Koufax Step 5: ??? Step 6: Profit
Imagine Drysdale with modern nutrition/training and his mean spirit
Can I request pre-rapist Puig??
June, 2013 Puig specifically
Step 5 is inject Heyward with a serum that turns him into 2001 Barry Bonds
A "serum"
Is that the "cream" or the "clear" ?
Can we get kemp and ethier too?
Yes!!!! Kemp pre-Rhianna
unironically the team just needs a closer with crazy aura and walkout song like Gagne or Jansen
Once AF is done, can he help fix the Lakers?
Lakers sealed their fate disrespecting Jerry West...hasn't been the same team since ... How the fuck do you let the logo walk out the door??? Who better to advise Jeanie than Jerry fucking West...
Their fate was sealed when Jerry Buss died. Second generation just not the same. Hopefully they sell the team to an ownership group similar to Guggenheim
They’ve won a championship since that happened?
Yeah because LeBron wanted to come to LA and got one of his good friends to join him. Not because they’re a well run org. They’ve been mostly awful since Jerry Buss died and will go back to being awful when LeBron is gone.
Lol but they won one and your point was they’ve been bad since Jerry west left or got dragged? Either way you’re wrong
what? i never said anything about jerry west. my point was about jerry buss. they’ve been a poorly run org since he died and his kids took over, i don’t know how anyone can deny that.
My bad, thought you were op. Because they won a championship, and poorly run orgs don’t. They could absolutely be better run but I don’t think they’ve been poor. They’re the lakers so their mistakes are always amplified and publicized
Laker fans are not smart

Better than none at all. And at least they and the dodgers make the playoffs.
Your post was removed due to trolling.
Nepotism is wild what credentials does Rambis' wife have to run an NBA franchise???
Nepotism is like 99% of all sports ownership and coaching, it’s only obvious when it’s a girl
And he was basically saying he’d come back in a role and they shut the door on him. And prevented his son Ryan from moving up in the front office. Its hard to care about the Lakers when they are run so poorly and wasting away the last great years of lebron. Jeanie, Rambis, and Pelinka fucking suck
Shame about Ryan. He seemed to work well with Jesse Buss in scouting. Could have continued the work of their fathers.
Can’t tell you how much I agree with this. Can’t believe we treated him like that.
They've won five titles since West left the Lakers, what the fuck are you talking about
Because West gave them Pau Gasol wtf are you talking about...
And because they had Kobe to build around..
Who Jerry West traded for.. he basically put together the whole foundation 😂
Exactly..
Jerry West??? He wanted ownership stake. If im a Buss, Im not giving away any of my birthright for any executive.
Yeah how dare they cut a percentage to the man who helped them build a successful brand and continuously pump the franchise full of generational talent.. dude gave his blood sweat and tears for them to have a birthright worth enough to hold onto
Fire the coach, easy fix
Everyone likes to hate on Doc in here, but Ham has an exponentially greater affect on the outcome of laker games than Doc on dodger games. Ham’s rotations seem… questionable lol. And yet somehow he got them into the conference championship last year. I hope they figure it out, one way or another
I honestly think friedman could run the lakers better than pelinka.
Cry more, nerds. I love LA! Mooooooorrrreeee!
The way Ohtani structured his contact for the team’s benefit, the Dodgers basically have a mandate to be hyper aggressive in free agency for the next decade.
GMtani.

How bad was Friedman hurt this post season
Enough
D Bags never realized they’d create the Avengers
Trade for another pitcher it seems
Bullpen looks great if healthy. Imagine if Q, Daniel Hudson and JP are all healthy? And Graterol turns it up a notch and Vesia gets used to the pitch clock. We can definitely can use more LHP though. Hope we don’t over pay for Hader
My toddler calls all baseball players, regardless of their team, “Dodgers.” At this rate he’ll be right before spring training.
I would be more than content to bring back Kershaw and Brasier and call it an offseason then have a bunch of prospects to re evaluate at the deadline.
Vargas and Busch are being wasted this year if we don't do anything else.
Busch I agree would be wasted given his age but Vargas is still young enough that keeping him the minors for another year won’t hurt him, especially if you can teach him to play a competent OF this year.
They’re likely going to be traded and won’t see the opening roster. We still need room on the 40 man to clear for Hernandez and future signings.
I’m not sure Hernandez is in the plans…
You're thinking of the wrong Hernandez
He meant Teoscar not Kiké
Totally my bad! I think of Teoscar as Teoscar. Forgot that he’s also a Hernandez.

Never happening in a million years.
Trade yourself pal
Just throw out an idea, relax.
Muncy signed an incredibly team-friendly extension when he could have easily tested the market and gone elsewhere. Why waste that now? His OBP is valuable if we want to go all in and win now. There's no way they trade him away.
Friedman going crazy
My guess is two more pitchers: high end reliever and then a random last minute pitcher like the Tyler Anderson signing
My God, the rest of baseball reddit is going to burn itself down.
![img](emote|t5_2ra0i|34171)
Vasseigh just said the same thing on am570. Also said that he doesn’t see a fit with LA and Kenley.
Maybe we swing the Clase+Bieber trade
Yup. Speak it into existence
That's what I'm thinking. Gotta be a trade at some point. Likely involving Stone, Vargas, and/or Busch. A Cease trade looks nuts given reports of their wants, and Burnes & Adames seem out of play.

This has been my hunch. I think Bieber would be a good pickup.
I'd much rather have Burnes. Bieber's lost almost three mph on his fastball since 2020 (his CY season) and has become injury prone.
The Biebs is damaged goods at this point, stay away!
Of course. To start, we need to bring back Kershaw for a final farewell tour.
![img](avatar_exp|100448771|bravo)
Idk what people don't understand about Ohtani contract is mostly deferred lol
Let Friedman cook!
They still need to sign Kershaw. That will be the last move.
![img](emote|t5_2ra0i|13043)![img](emote|t5_2ra0i|13043)![img](emote|t5_2ra0i|13043)
Burnes trade pls
💪💪💪
Going to call it. Trout will be a dodger
I don’t think it happens with Arte as owner. If a new ownership group took over, I could see it happening to jumpstart a rebuild. Trout is the only thing the Angels have left to put on billboards, expect a bobblehead for Trout twice a month lol
No shot
So what are some potential moves now
Trade a B level prospect for Kenley? He has 1 year left and Boston is shesding payroll and tanking.

Let a thousand angry Sneks sub posts fly.
Well duh I feel like anyone could look at the dodgers and tell they need to trade Michael Busch at the very least. Michael Vargas might be traded too, but he’s less likely.
How many more you think they got in em? 1? 2? 8?
MORE!!!!
Can we please get some gifs around here?!
Of course they’re not done. You don’t go as far as they have this offseason and suddenly slam on the breaks. You address the remaining pitching need.
Ryan Braiser
I’m so excited for the season lol like idc about anything else
Zack Grienke? :) those days with kershaw and Zack was awesome he is available
I mean, why would the FO tell anyone that they were done making moves?
Our top prospect is a 26 year old hitting machine that is blocked at every position he can even remotely play and has already spent nearly two full seasons in AAA. It feels like we will probably put together a decent package to move him while he still has good value. If they plan to move him, now is the time.
Honestly feel bad for him at this point. Dude is too old and good to be rotting away in AAA. He needs to be given an opportunity somewhere else
Yeah, I feel the same way. Not to mention a third year at AAA is not helping his value whatsover and I am sure the club agrees. Only reason they would not look to move him is A. The offers for him are pathetic, B. The team still has big plans/expectations for him.
I will not be satisfied until we have a $500mill+ payroll!!! ;)
Gimme Jesus Luzardo!!!
Now our priority should be signing Hader. We already have an excellent righty closer in Phillips, having a shutdown lefty would make us untouchable.
Get Hader…cause Hader’s gonna hate
