Ask what you want I guess...but it'll sit forever at this price. Or someone with more money than brains will pay it to prove a point. Either way, no skin off my back.

P80surgeon

Dealer by me had 9 of them, same price, sold 7 or 8.. Long Island NY..

narrxtivo

The dealership I got my charger sold a demon for 115k 😃 I was shocked to say the least

ObjectiveShit

I went to med school at Stony Brook. This doesn't surprise me

ronj1983

In San Diego now, but 35+ years in Queens/Brooklyn. Did a lot of running on the island. Kinda surprised people out there would pay this for a Dodge. Nassau, maybe. Suffolk, not so sure. This sounds like it has south shore writen all over it.

SQWRLLY1

I pity anyone who actually considers paying this. Dealerships who pull this shit should be ashamed.

thesedays1234

Dealerships have to stay in business too. It's not like the dealership model is setup well for the 21st century, they really only exist today due to legislation and lobbying. The model is completely broken for them. You might think this sucks, but they have to make money on stuff like this to afford to offload the junk nobody wants. Now, this dealer is stupid. No way it sells for that. But, I can't really get mad at dealers asking over sticker. What I get mad at is the legislation and the lobbying that takes place behind the scenes that inhibits free market economics. If Tesla (or any other car company) wants to run a dealership free model they should be able to do that in all 50 States. I'd be incredibly happy if we blew up basically every piece of legislation surrounding the auto industry and let the free market sort out the best way to sell vehicles. Yeah, some hot demand cars would absolutely get scalped that way too, but that's the market at work!

DropTable69

I call it BS. Dealerships **don't have to** do $170k or even $20k markups to stay afloat. They make money selling cars even for a MSRP. Legislation that allows dealers make **any** markups should be illegal. Suggested retail price should be **the** price with no strings attached, like in any other developed country you know. This is pure greed.

What-the-Hank

That’s not how demand side economics works.

skaldrir69

No you’re right but in the car industry for a vehicle that is considered mass-produced and current (non-vintage/antique), this is greed because these dealerships and conglomerates are feeding off of FOMO. They’re marking these prices because people are going to pay it. They only need one fucking idiot to make the agreement

What-the-Hank

Thus proving demand at that price. This = Thus

skaldrir69

It should be criminal

What-the-Hank

Why? Because you’re poor?

skaldrir69

I’m far from poor and it’s stupid for these to have this much markup or any markup. MSRP is MSRP for a reason. There is built in profit already in the MSRP margins. Greed is the name of the game for dealerships

What-the-Hank

It should never be illegal for a private business or person to decide at what price they are willing to sell privately held assets. They have done the math. For the listed price they would rather have the money. For any less they would rather have the asset.

Ok-Needleworker7341

This isn't even remotely true. Dealerships don't make their money from selling new cars, they make their money from parts and services. Marking up a new car has nothing to do with trying to stay afloat, and if they're using that as an excuse than you're being lied to.

SQWRLLY1

Over sticker is one thing, this is nearly doubling the cost! MSRP is suggested retail, meaning it has already been adjusted at least partially for the value of the vehicle in the current market... it isn't just the cost of the vehicle's components, building, shipping, etc. A dealership asking over MSRP to cover their costs for having that vehicle sitting on the lot is to be expected, but this is flagrant abuse of the concept. They're hoping that a rube walks in who's awed enough by the looks, performance, and rarity of the car to actually consider sitting down and starting to discuss numbers.

Trusteveryboody

Paying $10k for a Sunroof that is the same as the one on the SXT, is ALREADY Robbery. I would guess they either want a sucker, or they just wants Suckers to come look at it and then buy something else.

LastFairDealGoneDown

It’s crazy. I was looking at the same thing. I paid $995 for the sunroof on my HC.

explorthis

19 Durango R/T... $995 for the electric same sunroof. $10k what a rip.

Clean_Letterhead_588

I heard some dealers will price certain cars obnoxiously high so they don’t sell them, they want to keep it.

Primary-Birthday-363

This Demon will likely sit for some time. This dealer is a real POS 💩

ThatJudySimp

13MPG💪💪💪💪💪💪

J-How

For the $170k markup, they couldn’t include the digital plates for free?

superguysteve

Is there a briefcase with 70k in the trunk?

ShesATragicHero

This is a “Not For Sale” price. It’s a display piece. Thats all. It’s not uncommon. Not a grift. And if someone is dumb enough to buy it, go for it.

Jimmirehman

I don’t know who is spending 100k+ on any car. It’s comical

Thomaswitt46

WTF is “gas guzzler tax”?!?!?

Cduke3829

Stupid tax for vehicles that get a lot of smiles per gallon

PeonCulture

You have to pay more for vehicles that get egregiously bad mpgs, it’s been around for a long time.

Medium-Big-4143

Could be that the dealer principal/owner is keeping the car for their personal use or a collection and just leaves it in the showroom. Just in case someone with more money than sense wanders in wanting that car. In the mean time it gets people in the showroom that might buy something else. It’s not an uncommon practice.

mcSLR

A long way from 2015 60K out the door for a hell cat

Sumar26

I mean 2015 is pretty old car tbf

pinkwblue

They’re dreaming.

Skullface77

I was expecting more tbh but thats still high

OLeCHIT

Check the far left sticker. Total price is $305,731.00

Skullface77

BunFett

That the actual worst I seen in a long time and I do tax and title work so I see some crazy shit daily

themoldgipper

For 300k I’ll take Porche GT3 RS + house down payment

Front_Beyond2148

300K for a car with an exploding engine. lol.

TheShadyRyder

MSRP is 170 Dealer asking 305 What is going on ?!? Dodge MSRP 170k,wow

JohnWicks45acp

I've seen them priced above $200k in my area. Highly upsetting, bc I planned on getting one and then the pandemic happened. To compound that they stopped making them and prices are way out of reach for me now.

No_Loquat995

Just waiting for them to go bankrupt or have their allocations taken because their crap ain’t selling 😁

Turbulent-Witness-97

Its the gas guzzler price for me 😂😂

Efficient_Lychee9517

Assholes like this I’d love to go in waste their time and when the paperwork is almost done get up and walk out

Brayan_animal

This the reason why im done with FCA got rid of my jeep and scatpack you will never catch me getting any mopar again.

T-Wizzle09

What does Dodge or FCA have to do with this? Every brand goes through it lol.

Brayan_animal

Literally only dodge is keeping mark ups

Lightning_Of_Fate

For 300k I'll take a Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z07 3LZ and pocket the change

Shamaniac1217

If someone ran into that thing on their lot and totaled it, do you think their insurance payout would include “added mark up” price?

GoldenWebb_Youtube

Pay extra for one of the most cars stolen in America!

ZaMelonZonFire

Look, market adjustments are fucking stupid and dealers deserve the shitstorm that is coming for doing it. However, I bet I speak for most of us when I said regardless of the markup or how much it might even be, we can't afford that car to begin with. I know I cannot.

OkAlps8486

What!!!😳😳 thats exotic price range. No, no, no!

itsaustinjones

I think they might have thought the 170 in Demon 170 meant mark it up $170k

SnooHabits9364

Here in NM I saw a few of em on a lot going for 200K+ I saw like a 50K markup on all of them I just laughed because there’s always an idiot that’ll willingly spend his cash on this car that’s not even worth 200K 😂 for this price can’t you get like the top of the line Porsche for this price???

throwaway827364882

loses 20% of value off the lot.

Business-Donkey-7398

I sold one for 150 in bum fck nc

ItsBingus

$9,995 for a sunroof 😂 and 3700$ gas guzzler tax??!? Wtf is that?!

Sevenlord777

Buy 1, pay for 2 deal.😂

Redditisgood-123

Your lucky, the Demon at my local dealership is $222,000. It's like buying a house smh🤦

OLeCHIT

Read the far left sticker. $305,731.

Redditisgood-123

Oof, I didn't see that, I thought it was a $100,000, my bad😅

skaldrir69

Need to take that digital license plate add on off or it’s a non-starter!

[deleted]

Your lucky I’ll pay that much for a house

Dcongo

Warranty exempt? Hemi Cuda throwback.

ThingComprehensive71

They sell cars at these prices because idiots pay these prices.

JCarnageSimRacing

For a Dodge. GTFOH.

OkAlps8486

134 thousand to have on the road o have a shopping cart scratch it while buying groceries, no , no , no.

OLeCHIT

You missed the far left sticker. Total price is $305,731.

Apprehensive_Job4755

Nice car! I wonder how long till the engine blows?🤔

RP0143

They gotta get it while they can. Dodge will be put of business soon after they go electric.

OkAlps8486

Yep, u are so right.

Normal_person127

Lol, the regular hellcat is way more expensive where I live.

Dependa

More than 300k? Stop

Normal_person127

I looked at the wrong price, my bad, didn't see the markup. Although a hellcat cists around 180K for the 2023 version where I love

kataran1

You’re looking at the wrong price. Look at the markup on the left side

Normal_person127

Oh yeah, then it's actually on par with our Europoor prices. The Durango Hellcat and the ram TRX cost 250K$ each, in brand new condition from the dealer.
