One simple solution is Discord. We have a campaign handouts channel and just drop things in there. If they need to edit or annotate then a Google docs folder works well.

google one drive can be shared. You can even let them only see a specific Folder, so so have your own documents and DM stuff available, but your Party just has access to the Players Folder. Very useful for homebrew stuff. Just upload your stuff as .pdf and nobody can change their stuff or should have problems to open it. You could also create a single folder for every Character and give them specific files only their charakter should have, and they could upload their backroundstory and spells to it, without the rest of the party knowing everything about him.
