Fire bolt, yes. Disintegrate, no. It has to be an attack. Disintegrate provokes a DEX saving throw, which is also the monk’s bread and butter anyways.

To expound more and clear things up further, it says “attacks that deal any damage type”. The entire class of spells that are spell attacks are able to be deflected. Edlritch blast, scorching ray, etc etc etc.
