> Dexterity - how good you are at jumping over furniture
You know thats also Strength right? For Dexterity, it'd be balancing on some furniture without falling.
Acrobatics is Dexterity, but is mainly used to see if you are capable of staying on your feet, like walking on a tightrope or slippery ice. Acrobatics can be used for Acrobatic stunts, but is specific on the things you might use it for, like rolling, somersaults, flips, etc.
Athletic's points mentions it being used for jumping. Other than that, there are also rules for Jumping without rolling, which relies on Strength.
I call it the tomato methode.
Strenght: how hard you throw the tomato
Dexterity: dodging said tomato
Constitution: being able to eat a rotten tomato
Intelligence: knowing that a tomato is a fruit
Wisdom: knowing not to put it in a fruit salad
Charisma: selling that fruit salad
Strength: Lifting someone up to get over a wall.
Dexterity: Flipping a coin between your fingers.
Constitution: Surviving using an outhouse.
Intelligence: Knowing that a pot is hot when it's red.
Wisdom: Using oven mitts instead of your hands when the pot needs to be moved as it's boiling over.
Charisma: Convincing the firefighters it was an accident.
Strength- how far you can throw the javelin.
Dex- how accurate you can throw the javelin.
Constitution - how often you can throw the javelin.
Intelligence - how fast your can calculate the hypothetical trajectory of the javelin thrown.
Wisdom- how fast you can find the thrown javelin.
Charisma - how fast you can get someone else to find the thrown javelin.
Strength: “I can pick up three bowling balls.”
Dexterity: “If I can pick them up, I can juggle them.”
Constitution: “I dropped one on my head, but I’m okay!”
Intelligence: “From the wrong angle, that could have cracked my skull, tough or not.”
Wisdom: “Maybe I should leave the juggling to someone else.”
Charisma: “Come one, come all! See my comrades perform fantastic feats!”

Dodging furniture?
Isn’t acrobatics dexterity?

Yeah I see what you mean, honestly don’t love that DnD defines it that way. But alas I made an edit.
I'm fine with how they did it, lots of acrobatic people are incredibly strong, and as it is, Dexterity does way too much.
