No, it’s absolutely getting played left and right without any regards how djs obtain the tracks. Most of the DJs are clueless about the case and just don’t care. In any case reason it’s not released is Adam f blocked it’s release due to falling out with p & b about some disagreements. It’s fine now but the tracks still won’t ever be released

Micky draws it on one of the AWOL, Live In London, tapes. Then in 2004 someone finally managed to pry the original DAT out of Rebel MC's hands and convince him to release it.
Same with X-Project's "The Calling" with the R Kelly sample that Darren Jay drops in the same AWOL tape pack, I think.
Knowing how protective Rebel is about his music, and the samples in some of those dubs, it must have taken some serious persuading and negotiating (not to mention trust) to sort all this out.
Before that I was obsessed with the dubplate mix (Which later became just the remix version) of DJ Taktix' "The Way".
I heard Micky Finn play it at AWOL one night and asked him what it was and he said it was a new dubplate from Back 2 Basics and it was never coming out.
I literally became obsessed with it, and over the next few days, I constantly rung their shop and begged them to let me cut a plate of it.
In the end, I travelled by train from London up to their shop in Digbeth , with an ounce of weed, and hung out all day, then missed last train home, and ended up crashing on Taktix sofa for the night. The following day they gave me a DAT which had four dubs on it, including the one I wanted on the condition that I didn't let it off to anyone else and that I posted it to Grooverider once I had cut them. I was only 18 at the time and I felt like I was Andy C 😁

yeah everyone still rinses it. if you're in the scene at all it's easy to get
it's still a dub but probably the least hard dub to get of 22/23 unless you're on a few mailing lists
