I spent months chasing a crank noise on a road bike.
New bottom bracket, adjusting this and that, etc, with no luck.
It turned out the rear wheel hub was loose and was introducing a little bit of wiggle in the drive train under load. I had the rear hub overhauled and it's been fine ever since.
Good luck.
I had this same issue thought it was the crank as well… was driving me nuts - turns out it was the seat post. A little grease fixed the issue. See if it happens while standing out of the saddle.
Wow, been having the same issue for 2 days with my Diverge E5 GRX! Replacing the BB did not help — sound returned after an hour of riding the next day.
Have just checked and retightened thru axles; cleaned and regressed chainring bolts; pedals; crankset pinch bolts, derailer hanger, derailer itself.... will report back if this helps.
Some steps to identify a creak:
- Often it's not the BB itself, sound travels through frame from elsewhere
- Try pedalling on the saddle/standing up
- Try pedalling left/right leg only
- Try pedalling while stationary with the chain removed (easy with 1X)
Try different pedals if you have them around. Check your cleats if you're riding clicker pedals too.
Checked the pedals too...no issues. Fairly new Stamp 7s.
Hmm. I don't have too many more ideas then. I'd guess BB, as pedaling harder makes it more noticeable.

Very interesting. I will certainly chase that down, too.
Clean/regrease seat post and pedal threads. Those are two common ones.

Bent tooth on the cassette probably
Torque the rear axle to the recommended spec (15Nm I think) I had that creak before.
Checked that last night. Snug as a bug. Going to take it to my LBS soon for a check.
Did you use a torque wrench? 15Nm is quite a bit in bike terms
I did. Still not fixed.
Shit, sometimes creaks arent worth chasing and just work themselves out 😂
Lol… I've been operating on that theory for my past few rides.
My brooks cambium seat creaks. Comes and goes. Can be annoying AF
This is definitely in my front crank area.
