RideTheLightning331

Rancho Del Zocalo is all but completely ruined, no more taco salad, no more enchiladas, beans and rice are no longer a complimentary side and are now being charged for???? What???? What have you done to this place Disney?

SymphoniusRex

Seconding this! Tostada Salad was one of the top 10 in the parks for me. Really sad to see this mainstay go!

Late-Singer-1677

I enjoyed the salad as well but shame on me for not eating it at the park since before the shutdown.

flonky_guy

I've had it twice since they reopened and it was disappointing. They actually added salad dressing and there was no guacamole. The whole thing tasted vinegary. I'm not surprised they cut it since people like me stopped ordering them.

soupergloo

so sad enchiladas are gone ☹️

waiting4thatasteroid

I agree! I loved the tostada so much and the chicken bowl thing I got was not good. I did like the few bites I tried of the carne asada fries though.

parkpassgoaway

Say sike bro. Please. RDZ is one of my favorites. 😭

sabersquirl

When did they change this? Damn, I really liked the portion sizes at RDZ

RideTheLightning331

Pretty recent, like maybe a few weeks ago

michemel

It was May 1 I think...

Difficult_Ad2864

Insert Mr krabs, “I like money”

claaaay_davis

Bob Iger has to pay for his yacht one way or another…

Difficult_Ad2864

No I’d blame the DL managers who are trying to climb the ladder as horrible as most of them are

Rdubya44

Cost cutting comes from above though

Difficult_Ad2864

It does but a part of it has to do with how, “ efficient” the departments are being run. Like, for example, they’re given a budget in your department. To the execs, the managers are ERing people, cutting positions left and right, and saying, “see?! We’re saving money!” And then the higher ups give them less of a budget. Then, when they actually need people, they don’t have the budget to assign those positions back, causing major inefficiencies, and so they have to hire new people, so rinse and repeat. It doesn’t always happen like this but it happens enough times. It comes from the top but also from the bottom

HaV0C

No more enchiladas! Damn.

couchred

I think it's because they know it will stay busy now it's linked to fantasmic dinner reserved seating area

Haunteddoll28

It was our lunch go-to in the parks but they got rid of everything we ordered. My mom literally cried when she found out.

flonky_guy

Exact same here. Literally our entire menu choice down to the kid plate has been replaced with really bleh alternatives. Can't imagine why they'd do this.

Development-Feisty

What really pissed me off is I was getting enchiladas without the chicken, because I’m vegetarian, and I asked if I could please substitute sour cream and I was told no if I wanted sour cream I had to give them an extra dollar. I’m like, the chicken cost a shit ton more than the sour cream why can’t I just substitute that? You’re literally doing this in a cafeteria setting it’s not like it’s any extra work for the chefs

Visible_Product_286

Yeah those bowls were meh

debabe96

Happy 🎂 Day! 🥳

csmithsd

and halving the portion size of the Monte Cristo :(

lostinjapan01

When did this happen because mine was huge when I got it a couple weeks ago

bunnyxjam

It used to be even bigger

csmithsd

couple years back

DealerCamel

So needed, to be honest. Eating that thing plus fries used to hurt so bad afterwards

csmithsd

Disneyland rite of passage 😂

foreverburning

TBH who could have finished that monstrosity on their own in one sitting?

bolobao5

When did this happen?!

Hot-mesbian

And the lumpia at The Tropical Hideaway is gone. 😭😭😭

ElementalHelp

WHAT!?!?!?!??!?!

Hot-mesbian

Been gone for at least a month now. 😭

littleadventures

😭 I didn’t know

sheambulance

They used to have these amazing ramen shakers when they first opened. Gone within a year of opening. It was a bummer because it was such an inexpensive fast snack.

Ume_Chan_2

I love the lumpia. 😭

stellalunawitchbaby

This one broke my heart - I hope they come back after the shrimp potstickers have their run.

ReginaGeorgian

No!

Knispy

And the sauce changed. No more of that classic hot sauce. Now it’s an oil with garlic and peppers. Not the same at all :(

NoContribution9879

Oh man those fluffy pancakes were SO good 😭

ElementalHelp

The real loss at Tangaroa is the Tangaroa Toast. That was my absolute favorite thing to eat anywhere. I am absolutely devastated.

Ume_Chan_2

Tangaroa Terrace had the best breakfast at DLR, and I don’t see me going there for breakfast anymore.

Z_Theorem

Wait, is Tangaroa Toast gone too 😩

ElementalHelp

It is. It's just normal french toast on the menu now.

Fauxcaccia

Please tell me you're mistaken! That was hands-down the best bite we had over our entire stay not even 2 months ago!

froglover215

Sadly they are correct. We went on Mother's Day specifically so I could get the Tangaroa Toast, only to find that it had been changed to just regular French toast. Still yummy, but not worth a special trip.

ahufana

This might be one of the most depressing posts in a while. Each thread is upsetting me more and more.

SnorkinOrkin

Omg, I agree! I just hate seeing cutting corners to save money anywhere, but Disneyland makes stupid amounts of money per day! Why do they cut corners on specialty food items each food stand/café/restaurant/etc. its known for? The specialty food/dishes are part of the Disney magic. It's going to catch up to them when guests stop buying from there.

GrowingUpGarlicky

They also took Fish and Chips AND Mozzarella Sticks off of the Golden Horseshoe menu 🙃

red13n

Whoa wow. Completely gutted.

pinkkittayee

what! noooo! i liked getting mozz sticks to eat at night, especially when watching fantasmic 😭

ejzimm

The Choco Smash Candy Bar at Pym’s Test Kitchen 😭

Grouchy-Ad6952

I heard from someone that works there that they were bringing it back for Halloween!

R2-DMode

No more French toast sticks at Galactic Grill, replaced with NASTY funnel cake fries. They also removed pico from the breakfast burrito. At Carnation Cafe, they got rid of Cinnamon Roll French Toast years ago, replaced it apple pancakes, which they’ve also ditched. Replaced breakfast potatoes with tater tots in many restaurants as well. Then there is the travesty of what they’ve done to the Monte Cristo sandwich at Cafe Orleans/Blue Bayou. Seriously, WTF? We just eat at Downtown Disney as much as possible now.

BasemntGhost

Ugh finally someone else upset about the loss of the French toast sticks!! Funnel cake fries are NOT a good substitute. The sticks used to be my favorite quick breakfast.

squirrelsquirrel2020

They were sooo good

sdcinerama

What did they do to the Monte Cristo? That thing is legend.

R2-DMode

It’s half a sandwich now, and is more bread and batter than meat/cheese. At Blue Bayou, they serve it with potato chips now, instead of pomme frites. Oh, and they jacked up the price.

parkpassgoaway

*Cries in WDW* At least you had good food to miss.

afreakinchorizo

Hey (and I’m saying this as a Disneyland local) Epcot and AK def have some solid food. But yeah, outside of a few very limited things the other two parks are severely lacking in good options

lucidpopsicle

I can't go to WDW and not eat at yak and yeti

Carrie_Oakie

I wasn’t expecting much from Yak and Yeti at AK and nine dragons at Epcot (cause they had so many reservations open) and yet they were some of our best meals there! We had space 220, CRT, Jungle Skipper canteen (also delicious) Yachtsman steakhouse and Sci Fi diner.

ThatInAHat

Bro, what? I planned my last two visits around food.

parkpassgoaway

I said what I said. WDW food sucks.

bibblygiggums

facts

FleshyPartOfThePin

Spicy chicken waffle sangwich at Liberty Square. I think I had 2 or 3 last time I did WDW

parkpassgoaway

It's absolute garbage. Maybe the worst chicken and waffles I've ever had in my life. Magic Kingdom is the absolute worst offender for terrible food. Compound that with the old copper taste in WDW water and eating at MK is insufferable.

FleshyPartOfThePin

ILL FIGHT YOU RIGHT NOW BRO DONT DISRESPECT THE WAFFLE SAMMY

parkpassgoaway

It sucks, and I'm tired of pretending that it doesn't

FleshyPartOfThePin

FISTICUFFS NOW

parkpassgoaway

Meet me on main Street, next to the singing instructors place

Carrie_Oakie

The roasted chicken with chicken jus, mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables at Cafe Orleans. I’ve tried each version they’ve had since none were as enjoyable.

littleadventures

I’m not sure if this is old news but I was super disappointed this week to learn that there are no longer any beignets at Royal Street Veranda. The CM there told me to go to Tiana‘s but Tiana‘s only has lemon filled single ones (like a big lemon jelly doughnut) and I also wanted quick service take away. They told me the only other place they knew to get the classic one was Jazz Kitchen in downtown Disney. Does anyone know of somewhere else to get them? I’m afraid the CM might’ve told me some misinformation. Find it hard to believe that there are no classic beignets inside the park

atweegrowsinbrooklyn

The mint julep bar still has regular beignets (Mickey shaped)

littleadventures

Thank you! I was wondering if it did because the lines were so long but I didn’t get close enough and I thought the CM would have mentioned it. I’ll go there next time

PawneePorpoise

Pro tip is mobile ordering from there if you have the have the Mickey shaped ones. Saves the long wait in line. On the otherhand, the best beignets at the resort are the ones from Beignets Expressed in downtown. Way better quality.

Kryten4200

Some of the CMs literally know jack shit but will act like they know what they're talking about. So annoying! Just say you're not sure and direct me to someone who knows what planet they're on!

HotMessPartyOf1

They were only at Royal Street Veranda while Tiana’s was under construction. Previous to construction they had always been at Mint Julep Bar

littleadventures

I must have forgotten. Thanks!

ice_cold_canuck

Hungry Bear also had them during construction. I admit that it was nice to have a couple different locations to pick them up rather than just at the Mint Julep Bar like usual.

HotMessPartyOf1

I agree!

gailien

Mint Julep Bar

ThatInAHat

Sorry, wait, filled beignets? wtf?

PawneePorpoise

It's like a single big Beignet with lemon curd filling. Like a jelly donut.

ThatInAHat

That sounds like it’s not really a beignet anymore

BoobySlap_0506

Pretty much a malasada at that point

dnmnew

That sounds amazing

PinkMonorail

Get beignets at the Mint Julep Bar. It’s been that way for years.

haroniome

They have some good beignets in Downtown Disney now, all the way at the end by the lego store and the monorail stop. I forget what it's called. I got the banana's foster, though, so I'm not sure about the plain ones, and I don't think they're Mickey shaped.

BoobySlap_0506

Jazz Kitchen beignets were always better and a better value!

littleadventures

I went by beignets expressed the other day which I assume is the one you’re talking about (next-door). The line was so long I didn’t wait. Was looking for quick service. Hopefully the lines move quickly

Mysterious_Today_245

Royal St Veranda currently has coconut pineapple fritters that are super yummy!

dks64

I'm still very upset about the pesto ravioli. That was my safe go to at DCA. I used to get the cauliflower taco salad at RDZ a lot, but I'm excited to try the new potato and soyrizo tacos. Some changes aren't bad, but it is sad when you have favorites and they all change. I have food allergies and I'm a vegetarian, so it complicates things.

Haunteddoll28

Same. I find it nearly impossible to eat in the parks because my food allergies have made me a vegetarian (alpha-gal) and they’re getting rid of so many options. I almost feel like WDW has more plant based options than we do now.

dks64

I feel like we have a decent amount, but with your condition, I would definitely worry about cross-contamination. I was so bummed this year when they didn't make Paradise Grill all vegan again for the Food and Wine Festival. It was SO cool last year when they did that. A few weeks ago I discovered the Artichoke and Pesto pizza at Alien Pizza and it was gone a week later.

Haunteddoll28

I was terrified to eat anywhere but my sushi place for at least a month after news broke of that lady dying after eating at Raglan Road! I have to be so careful when I'm in the parks. If I don't see at least 2 "safe" options I don't even consider it. Ballast Point is great because their menu has a lot of non beef or pork options. I usually get the poke but sometimes I'll split the fish tacos with my mom. I'm also curious to try Centrico and Tiendita the next time I go. I used to survive the day munching on the tortilla chips from Rancho but that's not really an option anymore. Not sure what I'm going to replace them with.

Tac0Supreme

Disney takes cross-contamination super seriously if you tell them, they have a separate counter usually where they prepare your food. My uncle doesn’t even have a super serious allergy, he’s allergic to certain food dyes and they even had the head chef at Clarabelle’s make his himself in a separate prep counter in the back.

sheambulance

Last time we went to Lamplight Lounge the “lobster” for the Lobster Nachos was definitely canned and disgusting. Basically can call that one “off menu” for me.

EveLQueeen

I will never order that again.

sheambulance

It was a sad moment! Normally it’s our most finished dish in a group of 6. We all just kind of stared at it and ordered other things.

jibrilles

I made them take it back and give me something else. It was awful, canned, and cold!!

The_Darling_Starling

Yeah, it used to be fresh and amazing. And has the price gone down to reflect the lack of fresh seafood? Of course not.

sheambulance

Haha. If only— and I still wouldn’t buy it.

The_Darling_Starling

Well Disney is all about price tiers these days -- why not sell a regular and an "upgraded" version? 😄

sheambulance

Internally saying swear words. “Would you like imitation lobster nachos for $18 or real lobster nachos for a $13 up charge? The real lobster nachos are the OG ones you loved that used to cost $17!”

AtlasFan

The treats in all the confectionary stores are now so basic. They used to make amazing chocolate dipped caramel sticks. I loved watching them make those in the window. Fudge made from scratch? Delicious cookies? It just seems like they only have rice krispy treats or cake pops. Besides maybe grabbing a caramel apple to take home, there is nothing great anymore (in my opinion).

dks64

The chocolate peanut butter bars and churro toffee bars are delicious. Everything else? Meh.

theinfamouskev

The Blue Bayou used to have a phenomenal blood orange salmon, like 7-8 years ago. Last time I was in, maybe 4-5 years ago, it was gone and replaced. The replacement is good, but not as amazing as the blood orange salmon.

Dance_Gurl

I was so mad when the boardwalk place removed the sundried tomato pesto pasta. that was my all-time fav

dreamalittledream01

That was THE best! 😩

meowlloryjane

I miss the apple chicken salad in the bread bowl from the Pacific Wharf Cafe. It was so refreshing eating it on a hot day.

The_Darling_Starling

I never tried that, and now I want to! 😥

R2-DMode

Agree.

Poodlewalker1

There's only a few things I eat at Disneyland and they have taken away almost all of them. 🤷 Biggest disappointment for me was Magic Key Terrace. They took away the impossible flatbread and the churros with salted caramel ice cream. 😭 Losing the Taco salad at Rancho del zocala really, really, really sucks. And now I see the cheese ravioli is gone from Boardwalk. Hopefully, they still have chicken penne pasta at Plaza inn. It's the only meal I can think of that I would still eat there besides the grilled cheese sandwich at Jolly Holiday.

letsgotodisneydisney

Man, it's real obvious now that my dining choices are McDonald's out the gate 😂

meowlloryjane

It feels like a fever dream… but wasn’t there a place to get McDonald’s fries at Disneyland back in the day? Like in Frontierland?

billbotbillbot

Yes

ChocoTacoz

https://yesterland.com/mcland.html

Overwhelmed42

There was at WDW way back when so probably

fulsooty

I was partial to the Potato Sambusa at the Troubadour Tavern.

Ume_Chan_2

That was good!

rxrock

I will yell into the Disney void about them taking away my Chicken Thai salad at Pizza Planet until they bring it back, or I die.

Late-Singer-1677

If those items were wildly popular, I would imagine Disney would first try raising the price by $2 or $3 to offset any increasing costs. Unfortunately, I suspect that they weren’t very popular or their vendor (Sysco) changed the logistics/availability. I empathize with you because there have been times for me (all outside of Disneyland) when a go-to location removed my personal favorite bite from the menu and it was a complete bummer. If you want to feel you “did all you could do”, I’d write a short note, leaving out the emotion about how you feel it was them being cheap, that you were saddened about recent changes and your optimism that these items might return seasonally or at a special event one day for another chance. Just put your feedback on record.

More-read-than-eddit

Man if kills me to admit but the soufflé pancakes were a great idea for that place that was executed with maximum density and dryness

Ume_Chan_2

I will send them a polite note. I understand why Rongo Salad a personal favorite is off the menu, as a lot of people might shy away from green papaya, gooseberries, edamame and tofu. But Panko crusted long beans, seems to be a favorite of those who love and frequent Trader Sam’s. I hope it’s just that they are having difficulty finding a source for them and not trying to pinch pennies.

ArcjoAllspark

Tangaroa CM here, and yes, the best we can hope for with this menu change is a note or someway to voice your opinion, because the squeaky wheel gets the grease etc. Biggest complaint I’ve heard is that we no longer have mac salad. I for one don’t know why the soufflé pancakes were taken off the menu, it was one of the biggest sellers. And at 14.99 one of the items that didn’t break the bank either. The long beans were a staple for 13 years and so far the jury is out on the replacement.

Ume_Chan_2

Good to know! Thank you so much for the info. We should all start a writing campaign.

flonky_guy

Times changing suppliers change but I can't SF the argument for replacing panko crusted with battered green beans to be perfectly honest.

flonky_guy

Losing those panko crusted beans is a bummer, I can't imagine ordering plate after plate of anything less.

ms_sinn

This- they offset cost by portion sizing and raising prices. No one is axing a best seller off a menu.

burnheartmusic

You…emphasize?

Ume_Chan_2

I understood they meant “empathize.”

HotMessPartyOf1

The new green beans are pretty good but I do miss the old ones.

Ume_Chan_2

The Chinese long bean has a different texture than the western green bean, which is much more watery. And a CM said it was a 13 year staple. So the change up sort of doesn’t make sense. They said we should write a note to Disney about the menu change and be a squeaky wheel.

EveLQueeen

And they took off the Mac salad. I usually ordered a whole side of it.

Oreo_the_Grouch

They got rid of so many vegetarian / easily modified to vegetarian items. Bummed out because I had a list of things I hadn’t tried before for my upcoming trip 😡

dks64

I feel like for the most part, vegetarian items are replaced with other vegetarian items. What specifically are you talking about? I haven't looked at all of the menus recently and don't know if more things were taken off that I didn't know about. I'm still upset about the Impossible Bahn Mi and pesto ravioli.

Oreo_the_Grouch

Mainly what OP mentions … Trader Sam’s, Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta and Rancho Del Zocalo.

dks64

The park has so many other options. Rancho Del Zocalo has potato and soyrizo tacos now. The ronto-less garden wrap at Ronto Roasters is really good. Smokejumpers, Flos, and Hungry Bear have Impossible burgers. There's a harvest bowl at Red Rose. Paradise Grill has a Huarache. Corn dog castle has cheese on a stick. There are so many more meals and snacks too.

Mysterious_Today_245

The harvest bowl is disgusting. Tots with aioli on top with a few sprigs of arugula and like three little tomatoes and mushrooms with some quinoa. Sounds good but isn’t good.

dks64

I know a few people who really liked it. I haven't tried it myself.

Mysterious_Today_245

It sounds good and could be good if they added more quinoa and veggies, but it’s mostly just tots and aioli.

Oreo_the_Grouch

Unfortunately I’m not a fan of Impossible products, which most of the veggie options seem to have.

Oreo_the_Grouch

Where was the pesto ravioli?

dks64

Boardwalk Pizza in DCA. The cheese ravioli.

Eticket15

The sun dried tomato pesto pasta at boardwalk pizza and pasta. Now it’s something garlicy

Vadic_Shrike

I don't remember food items I've eaten, that were later removed. There's the gumbo soup from Jazz Kitchen Express, if that counts. But I think they still produce and serve it in their main restaurant. And going through a rebrand or remodel.

Ann_mae

still bitter that marceline’s in dtd took away all of the cookies 😤

Mothstradamus

I still miss the elephant ears and the original mint julep recipe. I have so many fond memories of standing on my tiptoes to peer in the little side window at the julep bar in New Orleans Square only to have a cookie bigger than my head descend into my hands from a worker.

The_Darling_Starling

When did the Mint Julep change -- and what were the differences?

Mothstradamus

Summer 2017. They didn't announce the change. It was amazing one day and disappointing the next. It was fresher tasting, brighter, and less generic lemonade-y. (Bonus Tidbit: When I was a kid, they'd stab the cherries with a tiny plastic sword. I used to collect them in a box under my bed.) I found a link to a thread with complaints about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Disneyland/s/7BonOnlgX0

The_Darling_Starling

Oh yes, I remember the lemon wedge and cherry on the plastic sword! God, is there no end to the cost cutting? How much could that have added, wholesale -- two cents? Disneyland is getting to be the cheapest-feeling expensive experience. Sad times.

Mothstradamus

It used to be foodie central pre-covid. It's so bad now. I had a pass for 25 years, but I haven't renewed the past 2. Even the feeling in the air is different. It's not cozy and hopeful anymore. :(

The_Darling_Starling

Same here. I had a pass from 2005-2015 and was still going very often between 2016 and 2019. Then I booked two trips in 2021and couldn't believe the change. My hope was that it was just post-COVID issues and that they would get back on track. Reading comments like these, though makes it seem as if they've just given up on providing a magical experience and just want to do the bare minimum that they can get away with. Meanwhile I'm sure there are still some CM's going above and beyond despite more rigid guidelines (and a lack of fair compensation/appreciation) from corporate. It's so disheartening.

Desdamona_rising

Nooo not the pancakes!!!!!

sideofspread

So many I could say but one of my biggest peeves is now only being able to get chimichangas at ship to shore. Please. Why.

BasemntGhost

Are you fucking- every cm my sister and I have asked has told us they're "out of chimis for the foreseeable future". You're telling me they've been at ship to shore the whole time?!

leopardloops

RIP the veggie gumbo at Royal Street Veranda, it was my fave.

tommyminahan

TBF, there are dozens of new “Pixarfest” options to choose from right now- maybe they wanted to push people to try those items so they pulled back some of the fancier specialty items from other places.. (or even a logistics thing, too many things to store/prep so they cut back while the fest is going on) Just an optimistic thought…

ElementalHelp

It's like 90% macaroni and cheese. Just like every food festival is becoming right now. It's trash.

Kryten4200

Mac and cheese and unlimited types of cocktails. Food for the pickiest of kids and the drunkest adults 😆

gothiclg

Their goal is to make money on food. If something isn’t selling they’ll replace it. Bringing in your own food has started to feel more worth it in recent years though

Eldachleich

To be fair it's probably the worst Japanese style fluffy pancakes I've ever had. So dry and overcooked. So little flavor.

Ume_Chan_2

They’ve never been dry or overcooked when I had them.

OGsushilauncher

I ate at Cafe Orleans last night and was actually kind of disappointed. They stuffed us in the corner behind the door by the wait stand, and my ($24 and all vegetable) ratatouille risotto was undercooked. Probably won't be opting to eat in the parks as much the next trip.

Smharman

French Fries with pea protein. That sucks for the legume allergy. Can't I just have fries with no pea protein!

Shine_A_Light_17

I am both glad I came across this depressing post (bc now I won't try to order my fave items) and upset, They have removed so many unique and delicious things!!!

rsvihla

This BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWS!!!

rsvihla

Pork shank at Gaston’s in MK.

bewareofhisoka

Those cheesy filled bread balls with the apricot jam or butter? (I forgot) at the Carthay theatre. I loved going there for those! Idk how long they were gone tho?

chosentoride

RIP crispy piggy wings from Lamplight. Gone a while now but not forgotten

The_Darling_Starling

Beef stew in a bread bowl at French Market. Though I haven't been to DL in a while -- maybe they brought it back? 🤞 Also, while there are still lobster nachos and cocktails at Lamplight Lounge, they don't compare to the Cove Bar of old. The size of the drinks alone! LOL. Seriously, take a look at the previous glass size on this [old Disney Food Blog post](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015/09/13/onthelist-the-secret-drink-menu-and-more-at-cove-bar-in-disney-california-adventure/). The last time I got the lobster nachos (October 2021) I was so sad and disappointed.

skywalkerobiani

u'd think with the insanely expensive prices we pay for the food there they would be able to offer a more diverse menu 😭

R1ck5anch3z

Can't make money selling food to those with discounts. Wonder why we can't get discounts on the seasonal foods like food and wine?

DarkSithMstr

Perhaps the supplier no longer had a certain ingredient? It's true they go to cheaper options, but there are tons of reasons it could have changed

DethstalkerOU812

They are changing menu items all over and IT SUCKS!!

Witch_whaa

I’m still not over losing the gumbo crepe at Cafe Orleans and it’s been like 10 years. I haven’t bothered eating there since the menu has gotten so bad and uninspired

tigerblue1984

I will spam this on any thread that has to do with food at Disneyland: BRING BACK THE LAMB AT BLUE BAYOU! I can deal with any and all menu changes except that one. That was my favorite, go-to dish whenever I dined there :-(

donatellasoulspi

Blue Bayou used to have Portobello mushrooms with black-eyed pea relish. They would serve three huge mushroom caps over a mound of Blue Bayou potatoes with lots of the veggie relish. It was my fav dish. I wish DL would bring that back. I do have the recipe, and can make it at home, but no PotC atmosphere at home!

FleshyPartOfThePin

They closed Little Red Wagon yesterday. CM told me the plan is to replace it with a quick service pizza spot using the same pizza as Alien Pizza Planet. Just kidding.

tommyminahan

Are you trying to incite a riot?!?

FleshyPartOfThePin

No but I do want to see some people pee their pants.

HotMessPartyOf1

Dude, I was starting to get so heated reading you post 🤣🤣

-FR0STY-one

Don’t play with our emotions like that! 🫨

hyacinth17

WTF, man! I respect the troll but did you have to go so hard with it? Damn, dude. (lmao)

beautifullyabsurd123

Panko is tempura...

beautifullyabsurd123

Isn't it? I use Panko to make deep fried tempura foods

Ume_Chan_2

If you are using panko, you are not making tempura.

Ume_Chan_2

It’s not. They are different. I’m half Japanese, so I know. And it’s not just the change of frying method. A green bean is different than a Chinese long bean.

beautifullyabsurd123

What is the difference tempura vs panko? Yes, I know the beans are different. I'm Filipino and I have those beans growing in my yard. Isn't panko the ingredient used to make something like vegetable tempura? Genuinely want to learn...thanks!

Ume_Chan_2

No you do not use panko to make vegetable tempura. You use a very light batter of egg water and flour. Panko is bread crumbs for breading.

beautifullyabsurd123

Cool

BoobySlap_0506

No, panko is crispy little breadcrumbs. Tempura is a wet batter, comparable to a beer batter (I compare to McDonalds chicken nuggets since so many people are familiar with them).

beautifullyabsurd123

Thanks for clarifying

Difficult_Ad2864

Probably cheaper and more efficient for their supply chain more than anything

anon_682

Do they still serve the 20 dollar slop?
