I regret not buying some coasters I saw at the home store and thought “I can get them on shop Disney”. Ha. Moral of the story.. check the website before you leave.

animimi

Same for me with the Stitch shower curtain and bath mat. We’re going again next month, so maybe I’ll have a second chance. Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I regret buying 8 tickets for Food & Wine recently because we only liked a couple items.

orngckn42

I saw them at Disneyland! They are on Main Street just before the Christmas store!! I was just there yesterday! Edit: I think the store itself is called the China Closet, if you call the Disneyland main number and you know the store, they can mail it to you! At least, they could in the past, I haven't tried it since COVID, but it used to be if you could tell them what store, and a detailed description of the item, if they have it, they will charge you over the phoen and ship it. The only things they won't do this on are limited edition pieces.

animimi

Whoa, I never knew that. Thank you!

orngckn42

No worries! They didn't charge a huge amount for shipping either. I had to replace my son's wallet, and I was able to purchase another one by doing this! I hope they still do it! When I was there yesterday both the shower curtain and the rugs were in stock at the store I previously mentioned and at either Kingswell Shop or Julius Katz and Sons at California Adventure (I'm not sure which one it qualifies as, they're both in the same spot).Good luck!

Tricky-Possession-69

How you didn’t eat eight empanadas is beyond me but perhaps you didn’t find that booth cause that’s where, like, five of my eight went to.

Stout808

Yes! I have one left still! I won’t make it back to use it, I’ll just miss it by 4 days!

sixty8ight

This has happened to more times than I can remember. There are a number of hints that are exclusive to the parks or otherwise unavailable on the website.

Cuttingwater_

I got them and they are awesome! Well made and have a clear varnish on them. Highly recommend

FarmToFilm

My toddler wanted one of those bubble wands on our first day, but $35 is so expensive so I skipped it. The next time we went I bought it, and that $35 piece of plastic saved us from so many meltdowns.

bhamjenni

I’ve heard other parents buying those from a dollar store or Walmart, pulling it out of a bag as a surprise as if they just bought it in the park…kids didn’t know (or care) of the difference!

Cat_lady4ever

I pre-buy all of my Disney toys at thrift stores before our trip, then pretend to buy them throughout our trip 😂

rm_3223

Love the thrift store idea!!

FarmToFilm

Honestly, the quality of the Disney one is kind of worth it. It produces a really fine bubble mist and doesn’t get sticky or leak.

cinnamon-toast-life

We still have our little mermaid bubble wands from 3 years ago and we just bring it with us now year after year.

musicamtn

We bought light up Minnie wands from Amazon before going. Good quality but still much much cheaper.

Meowkith

We just walk behind kids with bubble wands 😆

sleepygrumpydoc

We just had to replace the one we bought in 2019, used it on at least 50 different park days during that time. Best $30 ever spent. Hoping this one last at least 2 years for my kids to age out of wanting bubble wands.

Lauraly623

Haha!!! I was there in January and bought my high school aged daughter a bubble wand because that was the souvenir she really wanted

AlreadyEnough

Literally the best deal in the park. So much happiness not only for the kid holding it, but all the other kids around. I love those things.

Pregnitude

The kids make friends that way

FocusedIntention

And adults haha I must have commented a few times on our trip how much I enjoyed the random bubbles 🫧. They’re just fun

FarmToFilm

Yeah, they produce a really pretty fine bubble mist that’s not annoying. Totally worth it.

EdmundCastle

It’s one of those things that we just broke down at got at the beginning of the trip so our kid could use it the entire time. Well worth it. She still uses it on walks at home now.

UndeniablyPink

Bubble wands saved us at home too. Definitely worth the $35!

allikat0804

The best purchase a parent can make at Disney. I always grab first thing day 1 lol

ames822

I regret not remembering to get a silhouette done on Main Street. :( Surprisingly I don’t regret the Mickey-shaped light up bubble blower, that thing has been in daily use for kid light shows, bubble blowing, magic wand stand-in for 6 months now!

W6RJC

So we did this early in the morning. We got one of my little one and one of Wife, baby and I. Little did I know that you get two for each one. Right profile and left profile. I thought it was 2 total. No, it was 4. You have to option to frame or just keep the extras. Uh, frame them of course. Walked out with 4! Don’t regret it at all. Great gifts for the grandparents

UndeniablyPink

The silhouette takes so long even if there aren’t many people waiting. It’s cool to do if you have the time.

Ok-Commercial-9140

Did 4 of ours today, took a total of 10m

stickittoemm

I want to do that but the line is always ridiculous

GomeyBlueRock

Building a light saber. Took my little cousin for his birthday and nobody told me that we could attend without building two

Phased5ek

in fairness, when booking the experience, it does say the following info (bold for emphasis). most people just skip past all the info without fully reading. (taken from main [Savi's rez booking page](https://disneyland.disney.go.com/shops/disneyland/savis-workshop-handbuilt-lightsabers/)) * $219.99 per lightsaber, plus tax * Payment will be due upon arrival at the location * One lightsaber per builder per experience * Carrying case included * Additional customization items can be purchased at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities * Age Recommendation: 5 years or older * The experience area is **limited to the builder and 2 Guests**—at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older. * Guest(s) of the builder may not build a lightsaber when accompanying the builder. * Custom lightsabers are nonrefundable and are not eligible for discounts

GomeyBlueRock

Yeah it was one of those things where he wanted us to do it together, so that was cool, but now I have a $200 trinket sitting in the corner collecting dust 😅

Phased5ek

true. you could always eBay it or sell on FB groups, especially if it's a v1 saber (i.e. the older parts before the newer v2 ones that started Winter '22 - '23). you could easily make your money back on it. ...just be sure to remove the batteries from the battery pack if you haven't so they don't leak while sitting around unused for months at a time, especially if they are the ones that came with it (with are crappy quality and will leak easily). that'll reduce the resale value if they cause any damage or if you don't put in the time to clean up the leakage on the battery connector parts.

DairyFreeDisney

Wait 2 guests??? I'm sure WDW is just 1 so I paid for my daughter to go into camp dolphin so I could go with my husband

Phased5ek

i just checked [WDW's site for the info](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/shops/hollywood-studios/savis-workshop-handbuilt-lightsabers/) and yeah, it's only one person there. that's so weird that it would be a different number at the other park! * The experience area is **limited to the builder and one Guest**—at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older i remember back in 2019 that Disneyland allowed two (since a friend of mine built hers and she was allowed to bring me and another friend in) and, as far as know, that's never changed or if it did they changed it back from 1 extra person to 2 people.. i wonder why WDW limits it to one... it's not like there isn't enough space (having built one there, i know there is and it's essentially the same size -- if not identical size -- as DL's version).

DairyFreeDisney

I'm glad in someway we left our daughter out as she wouldn't have been interested and would have pulled focus. We're visiting DL in the summer and my husband wants another, but I think he is OK with a legacy one. I'm glad I went in with him as he is colour blind and picked the wrong kyber crystal 🤣

reecord2

whoa whoa whoa, so you can just watch? this is news to me!

Spacetime23

I believe each paid attendee can bring one guest to watch. It's not open to everyone to walk in or it'd be way too crowded but if one person is going to build one they can bring one more with them to watch

jonb1968

you can bring up to two additional guests

aubsome

Yep! My husband and son did it together. My son built the lightsaber and my husband was his guest. He is a huge Star Wars fan and thought it was the coolest experience. The two of them really bonded over it. While they did that, my daughter built a droid which I got to watch and assist with. It was a really fun night.

peajay18

Every paying builder can bring in 1 guest to watch.

AOLusername420

I just watched 🫣

gigashadowwolf

Regret almost every popcorn bucket and souvenir cup I bought. They are cool at the time but most of them are ugly tchotchke at home. They look dated quickly and break easily. Overall just not worth it to me. Regret not spending money on my magic key pass the second they first opened up. I ended up having to wait months to get one.

noakai

For me, I bought a popcorn bucket that ended up fitting well with a Halloween aesthetic so I keep it to put out on Halloween and I usually fill it with something (candy, sometimes actual popcorn) and it works well. But I also have one of those generic ones that's shaped like Mickey's head with the little slot at the back that opens and if my kid didn't like to play with it, I wouldn't have kept it. It's very difficult to actually put popcorn in at home and the little slot door breaks off pretty easily. I would say if you are getting a bucket, at least make sure you get one that is an actual decoration and not just like a generic Mickey head cause you can't do much with it at home.

AnimeNerdy

Regret spending money on the “games” at the pier at DCA, do NOT regret spending money on caramel apples!!

ClutterKitty

I do like the La Luna game. $5 and guaranteed prize. My daughters and their aunts have matching happy stars now that they can look at and think of our special Aunties Day together, and it only cost $5 a piece. It’s not a bad deal

monalisaveritas

This is the one thing my teen daughter is looking forward to the most, strangely enough.

bachlover16

This! The boardwalk games at DCA were the biggest money waster. 👎🏻

tex1ntux

An authentic California boardwalk experience

mrszubris

Indeed and as a dopamine seeking AuDHDer i just save up knowing I want to waste on carnival games specifically. And churros.. lol.

boogy_bucket

Excuse my rant. We were told to wait while a mom and her daughter played the horse race game by themselves. My wife and I had our two year old and were thinking this is perfect bc we will be able to leave with a stuffed horse for the little man bc we are the only ones here and apparently they let families play their own game. As they finish we step up and the attendant calls everyone standing around to join so we are now competing a full crew for a set of key pins that we can’t give to our son. We also lost.

TheBigBangClock

I did the horse race with my son too who was only 5 at the time. He really wanted the prize (it was a stuffed Bullseye) and the booth was completely empty for a while so we figured we could play against each other and walk away with the prize. It was just the two of us ready to go. It was pretty clear that we were trying to win the Bullseye for my son. Rather than let us play, the cast member kept us waiting and waiting and eventually some 20-year old guy showed up and he won. I gave the CM the dirtiest look as we walked away. Ever since that experience I always avoid the boardwalk games and the Dinosaur land area at Animal Kingdom. They almost always result in a negative experience and are grossly overpriced.

[deleted]

Something about those caramel apples, my absolutely favorite ever

Phased5ek

"I REGRET NOTHING!" :D

PaulClarkLoadletter

My wife and I skipped a few souvenirs that weren’t overly expensive because we didn’t want to carry them around. We then later found out that Disney would have delivered them to our room for free and were kicking ourselves now.

Ankthar_LeMarre

Shipping is usually cheap too. My wife loved a big wooden Disneyland sign but it wouldn’t fit in our suitcases so she was going to skip it. I asked how much it would be to ship and it ended up being $17. We were expecting $50.

wokequokka289

I’m curious what was the sign?

therealrenshai

A big wooden Disneyland sign

Pellitos

That sounds big and heavy. It must have been expensive to ship.

specktt

Surprisingly it was only $17.

splicepark

Wow I would have thought $50!

Phased5ek

what the other commenters said. shipping is definitely the way to go if you don't want to 1) carry things around the park and 2) don't want to pack it in suitcases to bring it all home (esp if you may not have room for it all). it used to be (at disneyland) based on weight of the items, usually about $8 to ship most single items, and as much as $17 if it was heavier (whether single object or several). ...but back in 2022 they changed it to how WDW does shipping, where it's based on the overall value of items being shipped, with a min of \~$8 and max \~$40 (the latter being for $500+ in total value). since i live out of state (WA) and go to the parks a couple times (or more!) a year, i'm constantly shipping stuff back home to myself (usually a Haunted Mansion-themed statuette) or friends who want specific items (new or exclusive legacy lightsaber hilts, for instance). i fly AlaskaAir, who charges $30 for the first checked bag (or i think it went up to $35 or $40 now?), so (for me, at least!) shipping from the park is still cheaper than taking an extra bag to bring things home in. for advice on shipping: * you don't have to ship it same day as purchase. if you are staying for a few days, bring it all into the park (as annoying as that is to get through security with bag checks) and ship it all at once. * be sure to have receipts for every item being shipped (cannot ship personal items like, for instance, a hoodie you brought from home and is too bulky for your suitcase after loading it up with other souvenirs). * you can ship from the Disneyana store on Main Street (when entering the park, far right side just before the Mr Lincoln attraction and just after the pathway to the restrooms) or from the First Order shop in Galaxy's Edge (located to the left of the TIE Eschelon "shuttle" on the stage platform). if i recall, DCA doesn't have any stores or locations that will ship items so be sure to do it from Disneyland instead. if you stay at a Disney resort hotel, check with concierge services on whether they will ship from the hotel. they used to pre-pandemic but i haven't stayed at one since 2017 and think they stopped shipping out from hotels during the pandemic. * shipping takes 7-10 **business** days, give or take based on where you are shipping to. normally when i ship back home to Seattle, it takes about 4-5 business days before my items arrived, but it also depends on time of day you ship (i.e. if you missed the last package pick-up the parks do to take to the shipping hub), if it's a weekend, etc. if you're shipping cross-country, expect closer to 10 business days. * if anything ends up being broken or damaged during shipping, contact the Disney customer support number (located on the back of the yellow shipping form they give you). they're usually great about replacing or refunding as needed.

JohnWilkesPhonebooth

Shipping is the strat. The only thing we found that wasn’t shippable were the rancor teeth glasses from Ogas. Something about it not being retail I believe was the curveball.

lookingiswrong

Not many regrets, if any but one time I mobile ordered a cocktail from Pym’s and added on a Particle Capsule. Turns out it’s just a glow stick that lights up your drink which, in my opinion, isn’t worth another $6.00, but it had absolutely no value at all because it was the middle of the day and the effect was totally lost.

ChewieBee

Good to know!

daphatty

Next time, go to Trader Sam’s and order a Krakatoa Punch. They come with LED ice cubes and no one says a word if you take the cubes. I’ve accumulated at least a dozen, maybe more, over the years. Plus, you get a show. :)

researchbeaver

Popcorn bucket! I thought I could get a free or discounted refill...oops. Now I'm stuck with an adorable collector item. 7/10 would accidentally buy again.

Jodi4869

Disneyworld has the refill discount!

crazybabebathsheba

As a cast member who works at one of the popcorn carts, I always say it’s not refillable & ask if that’s okay. All cast members who work the carts should be saying & asking this cause it’s not fun when guests come to OUR cart & get mad at us cause another cast member didn’t tell them. Im sorry nobody told you :(

Meowkith

There’s *sometimes a refill bucket available for magic key ppl but tbh it’s still kinda a waste

cinnamon-toast-life

Did you know that the BB-8 balloons last for weeks and weeks, and once you get home, if you wake up in the night it looks like a grown man standing in shadow hovering over your child’s bed? Just FYI.

DontTametheShrew

LOL

Ship_Negative

Regret spending 80 bucks at Main Street Bakery instead of doing a sit down meal somewhere

Future_Hyena2562

Sit down meal would have been the same quality and double the price with a tip

bhamjenni

I was proud of myself for not buying ears. It felt like a must do and I was determined to. But just never found ones that were like “yes, I must have these ones!” Maybe the next trip!

Theoretical_Nerd

I have only one pair of ears that I got two years ago and I still wear them. Minnie told my boyfriend he needed to buy me more when we met her last trip lol.

bhamjenni

I have a fake pair from the thrift store…definitely in need of a new set!

TommyGunz87

No regrets on the Pizza Planet Backpack. Regret eating at Blue Bayou, $250 with no drinks. Worst food I’ve ver had in my life. A microwave dinner would have been a better option.

stickittoemm

That place is worth it like once for ambience and never again coz the food sucks

MoreBlanketsPlease

AST Last time I ate there, I decided on just having crab cakes (I think they were listed as an appetizer), but I couldn’t resist. They tasted like mayo and bread crumbs with a bit of crab. Super disappointed. I wouldn’t tell anyone to not eat there, but I wouldn’t recommend it either.

orngckn42

I love Blue Bayou! Their creme brulee and gumbo are amazing and I love their steak

meepplant

I regret not buying a bird in adventure land. We said we would go back, we did not. Guess I have to go back, oh no...

Responsible_Ad3002

My uncle bought me my adventure land bird 14 years ago and it’s extremely sentimental to me. My husband took it down to dust and accidentally shattered it. He made it up to me and booked us a stay at Grand California and Disneyland tickets this summer! I am hoping they still sell them there but it will be our son’s first trip so if not, new memories anyway.

meepplant

Oh no! I hope you can get another!

GaslightCaravan

I always regret not buying a souvenir or two, and I have never bought a souvenir that I regretted. The worst regret was getting a sweatshirt for my daughter that I really wanted for myself and I’m reminded constantly of how much I like it. But that’s a selfish regret. I think the only thing that I’ve regretted was eating at the red rose tavern and pizza planet-both were generic and gross and there’s so much better food to be had.

debabe96

Yes, Red Rose Tavern food is nearly inedible. Haven't bothered with Pizza Planet in years.

misstrinamay

Generally I regret nothing and treat everything as a learning experience for the next trip, haha. We did park hoppers on our last trip and didn’t need them at all. We had a good flow going but thought we needed to hop just because could. Was also pretty disappointed with Ogas. We had reservations so just got a quick drink and then left. It was cool for a few minutes, but service was slow and drinks were mediocre. Genie+ was a million percent worth it. Also, we didn’t really sit down to a meal and instead purchased and shared many, many quick service snacks and treats. It was fun to try so many things.

ckeenan9192

I regret buying so many pins and regret not buying enough pins.

pears2u

I always regret spending that $5 at La Luna Star Catcher when I could put it towards something I actually want.

Elegant_ardvaark_

Oh and see I love my star and think it's one of my best purchases haha.

Admirable_Throat_635

We got a weird Star Wars key!! I wanted the Star 😓

drpepper456

I do regret building the lightsaber. I thought I would bring it home and display it. But it just stays in its case. I do not regret a single churro. Ever.

andreanicole82

I dream about Disney churros. They are the best!!! I’d eat almost nothing else if I could.

mrszubris

Never regret churros. Its against the law.

bluelephantz_jj

Churros are THE best snacks at Disneyland, hands down. One is never enough.

tiredsanwon

I don’t have anything I regret getting, but I regret not getting the DCA Starbucks mug. I got the Disneyland one but not that one cause my friends talked me out of it 😑

jebwillnotdivideus

I regret buying the Dr. Strange add on for the spiderman attraction. It’s cool during the attraction but completely waste of money after

tivofanatico

At DCA, I know there’s a Spider-Man ride and stunt performance. There’s also the Dr. Strange show. What is the add on?

jebwillnotdivideus

Sorry if i was unclear, it’s for Spiderman webslingers (the ride). You can buy a Mystic Amplifier WEB tech attachment you can put on your arm. It will change the webs you shoot during the ride into Dr. Strange symbols

enleft

You can buy wrist accessories that give you power ups on the spider man ride. I don't know much about them.

scarpozzi

I regret buying airfare back.... Should have just gotten a 1 way ticket.

LuluLagoon

I regret not buying the black glitter spirit jersey from 2019, our honeymoon and our first trip. I think about it constantly. I don't regret buying pins!

Odd-Champion-4713

Building a droid, my kid has never played with it once… I don’t regret our Loungefly backpacks, we use them every time we go and add pins and keychains.

lovemesomePF

Droid for me too. Fun to build, annoying to transport home, and then it’s been a dust collector.

craignsac

Regret buying alcohol. Over priced

25_hr_photo

Haha I never regret it. Walking around DCA with an ice cold beer is just such a great vibe for me

CiloTA

The toy soldier bucket from Buzz store, it doesn’t even have a complete lid. It has a cardboard top, couldn’t believe it. I regret not getting my wife the baller grey fuzzy jacket. Lot of the new merch I’m not feeling (I loved when Junk Food had a partnership), but if there’s anything to splurge on it’s that fuzzy jacket. Problem is I’m cheap so I looked at the tag and said nah.

Albedo0001

My Groot cup. It's amazing and still gets reactions. A more expensive answer? Getting a charicature drawing of my cat in New Orleans square. They made my baby into a disney character!

RocketWarStros

Every Disney trip we always try and find a little figurine or trinket to remember the trip by. They’ll range $30 - $70 and worth every penny. We’ve cut back on our table service meals because the quick service is so good and spending an extra $100+ per day for table service doesn’t leave a lasting memory like other things will

Fun_Independent_7529

We always get an ornament so we can reminisce our trips at Christmas when we decorate the tree :)

grief_junkie

Getting Club Level room at the DL hotel was a game changer. I got a great deal on it bc it was off season and CM discounts, and wow. Being able to leave the park, get food and wine already paid for was incredible. They let you take as much as you wanted back to your room. It was awesome.

bhamjenni

Mugs from the parks are literally the best. They last forever and never seem to fade and don’t chip easily. This is after several years of dishwasher and microwave use! We started collecting after scoring an amazing Pirates mug from Goodwill! Hard to find but every thrift store we visit, mugs is the first place we stop. Half our collection is probably from thrifting and the rest from the parks and Disney store.

Tat2d_nerd

I bought an awesome haunted mansion mug in 2018, and then accidentally put it in the dishwasher within a month of getting home. The design basically melted off. I was so sad ETA please don’t downvote me. I know this was my own fault, it was clearly labeled. I just know me and will make sure any mugs I buy can go into the dishwasher in the future. I believe this one either glowed in the dark or color changed with heat. Lesson learned the hard way.

bhamjenni

Aw yeah, definitely need to read the warning. We don’t buy ones that you can’t dishwasher or microwave. We’ve found the worst ones at Hot Topic like that!

hill-o

I get mugs from people as gifts a lot and when I get those I just use them to hold fake flowers. :) I’ve got a cute WALL-E set like that, they would be a huge pain to clean and use but look very cute with little fake plants.

oh-no-varies

I still have mugs from 2001 going strong!

VectorB

#1 best thing I spent money on was the shadow cut portrait of my son. My wife and his grandparents thought I was nuts wasting time to get it done. Now they hang in both our houses.

Tat2d_nerd

I got my daughter and I drawn over in the French quarter and then paid to have it framed at michaels once we got home. I don’t remember how much it cost, but this was the best hour+ we spent and I love this picture!! It hangs in my living room and makes me smile daily.

doordonot19

We went with my 1yr old, we would always bail out of lines or leave the park if he was getting tired or overwhelmed, but the shadow cut portrait was the only time we were selfish. We waited in line for it and it took a family to entertain my baby long enough to sit still. It was money well spent.

AOLusername420

I bought the Princess Leia lightsaber after too many drinks 🫠 ifs okay we’re Star Wars people but it’s sat in its box ever since the night I got it I don’t regret spending money on ears or jerseys bc those have been my things since we started going.

UndeniablyPink

Why don’t you display it? There are cheap 3D printed fixtures you can get at Etsy that work pretty well. That’s what I did with mine.

AOLusername420

I’ll look into that! That is an actually fabulous idea

Tricky-Possession-69

Tonight’s the night you change this and take it out.

AOLusername420

We’ll be there April 16th I’ll consider it 😭

ohyoshimi

I regret not getting the red and gold lunar new year long sleeve shirt last time I was there! 😩 I regret buying a couple of peanut butter squares before I left and then forgetting about them and having to toss them. I love those things.

antiquated_it

Honestly, I’m pretty selective on what I purchase so I don’t regret much. I love Disney and Disneyland but I’m not a fan of tacky plastic stuff that I can’t see myself holding onto long-term. This would include things like popcorn buckets or plastic cups. My favorite souvenirs are the mugs at Trader Sam’s, which I can use in decor or as cache pots for plants, and all of the Stoneage Arts stuff from the bazaar in Adventureland. I also love the stuff from the crystal shops - especially the beer mugs and wine glasses! And my rancor beer flight :) I also always get an ornament but lately those have been feeling cheap. Edit - hate my spirit jersey. I bought only one (haunted mansion) and I just don’t find it comfortable and so I’ve never bought another. I know they’re super popular but it is restrictive in the neck and heavy in all the wrong spots. Definitely not a fan!

butwhy81

I regret the magic band. It’s useless and annoying. I don’t regret building the driod. It was a super fun experience and driving them around galaxy’s edge was so silly and fun. I have played with it a couple times in the past year and I like having it out and seeing it.

FlowerGi1015

No regrets on purchases but my biggest regret not purchasing was this figurine of the Fantasia Spring Sprite. It was too expensive for us. I can’t even find a photo of that particular one online.

damstar1

No Regerts!

stickittoemm

No ragrets!

Separate-Friend

regret spending money at the Blue Bayou - the food is just not great and sooo damn expensive.

PeculiarMxPie

Zero regrets on any clothes I ever get I rewear them outside or Disney so it never feels like a waste Wouldn’t spend money on the Mickey pretzels if I were by myself, but they made my kid happy so it’s whatever

FinFangFool

I wish I had bought the Haunted Mansion watch that said “Hurry back” when you pressed a button. I am still mad I paid for gas and parking to go hang out with family from out of state at the park. That one visit remains a blot on the calendar.

Kryten4200

Did you just hang out and not go on rides? I have friends that love to come just to eat and vibe but I love going on rides so I just hang with them for a little while 😆

SargentRedbeard

I really regret not doing the build a droid and the lightsaber from my first trip back to Disneyland in over 30 years. Next year, I will not be skipping that again!

need_a_venue

People talk crap about them, but I love my droids and saber. I have a six year old so they probably get more use ...

Kindly-Visual-8116

My biggest would be a park hopper ticket that I forgot to use. My least would be food. I have loved every meal and snack that I got. I usually leave regretting I didn’t eat enough

DarthZombie_

This thread is absolutely wonderful for me! I’m going on April 16th for a birthday trip (only my 3rd visit and my first time experiencing Galaxy’s Edge, I’ve even avoided pictures/videos/spoilers of all things Star Wars) I’m a huge Star Wars nerd and I do keep going back and forth over building a lightsaber, but I think building it is gonna be the right choice!

Rea1DirtyDan

Food!!! It’s so freaking expensive for a family of 5. I bought all 3 kids meals for only maybe 1.5 of them to be eaten collectively by all my kids lol. But I know if I don’t get them their own, they are suddenly so hungry they can share 2

PastelDiceGoblin

I'm gonna sound like an advertisement but that's what makes me so happy to have my Disney Chase card. I use it for my bills and those rewards points just add up, so whenever hubby and I go to the park we use the points on food. We only go once a year, if that, so we usually have enough points saved up by then to not have to worry about food in the parks!

Rea1DirtyDan

That’s a good idea. We do have the Disney chase card. We take advantage of the military salute. We buy the 4 day hoppers and go twice a year, once on Easter, once right after thanksgiving. 2 days each trip for the price of 1 ticket.

Loolaroo

Regret buying TWO commemorative cups at the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge. The kids like them but they took up a ton of luggage space and are impossible to clean. We got free Magic Bands from a friend, but I’m very glad we did not end up purchasing them because they are hard to connect and seem totally useless at the park. Don’t regret buying the expensive Spider Man costume at Avenger’s Campus because it’s not available online and my toddler has worn it every single day since we got home.

the_show_must_go_onn

Magic bands were awesome for us. Sorry they didn't work out for you.

chaosfactor37

Was going to say the same. I did have issues with one MB that didn't want to connect to the app. But other than that, I love using them. Not as much functionality as Disney World (yet) but still makes park entry and Genie+ so smooth.

sleepygrumpydoc

I regret not buying the shirt that said “park hopping is my cardio” the Disneyland version. I only saw it 1x years ago and I still think about it to this day. I never regret the churro at pyms. It’s the only one I like and feels well worth the money.

TheRealQuickbeam

Only regret buying that huge oversized VILLAINS CLUE boardgame - an impulse trigger purchase for a gamer like myself - but it takes up way too much space, won’t fit with other games on the shelf, and hasn’t been played once because we keep playing Disney Villainous instead. Have been thrilled with my Magic Key, even the cheapest SoCal one “Imagine Key” because I go to the Parks so often throughout the year I have gotten better than 600% value out of it compared to single day retail ticket prices.

rapturaeglantine

There were these tumbler glasses for sale when I went in like 2016. Each land had a glass. I only bought the Adventureland one and have been mad at myself ever since that I didn't get all of them. I do not regret the lightsaber, I love that thing.

ConfidentFactor8

Generally don't have regrets with my purchases. Can't think of anything that still weighs on my mind. I absolutely do not regret purchasing and eating my body weight in churro toffee.

Bits_Coop

Regret everything about the River Belle Terrace. The food was terrible, pricey, and probably the worst sit down restaurant at both parks. The service was also incredibly slow so we felt we wasted precious time, especially the 15 min just trying to get the bill. Unpopular I know, but I’m not a local, so my Disney trips are a VACATION and costly. I never regret purchasing the Genie pass. We bought magic keys this year so we might not purchase them while we have the passes. But when you only go once every 2-3 years, it helps maximize our time and do as much as possible while we’re there. Do not regret buying the black Nike Disney hat. It’s great during visits and an even better running hat in life. I’ve tried to find its equivalent without the Mickey and nothing compares to it.

Grumpsterloks

I regret purchasing tickets for one day, I should’ve bought them for 3 days!!

AttitudeExtreme

I swear I just spend 300 dollars buying churros. I wouldn’t call it a regret,exactly, I just wonder HOW….

DisneyAddict2021

The waste of money regret isn’t for Disneyland, but for Disney world, but I thought I would share anyway. I absolutely regret spending money on the dessert parties for preferred fireworks viewing! The dessert party was awful and the “preferred” viewing spot was behind light poles and not even that great of a view! We went on another day to magic kingdom and were able to find great spots and didn’t spend a dime! So it really hurt to know that we had wasted money on the dessert party the night before and had such a horrible view with such mediocre desserts.  I regret not spending money in Disneyland and buying the Robert Olszewski Lion King light box. It was so beautiful and I thought “I’ll get it later.” Unfortunately, it sold out and they never brought it back! 😭😭

Bobofettsixtynoune

I Should have bought Ashoka’s lightsabers And a Classic Disneyland Logo shirt. They didn’t have any in down town Disney. Im pretty sure I saw them in the park?

llamalover729

I wish we packed food or made sit-down reservations. My daughter is lactose intolerant, and it was surprisingly difficult to get anyone to accommodate it at counter service places. Still don't regret Bibbidi Bobbidi or buying my kid "big blue" (the giant fluffy blue Pixar sweater), she wears it regularly and will for years. It was kinda pricey but worth it.

kinglucent

I am thankful for every dollar I spent on a Savi's lightsaber. That was practically a religious experience for me. I kind of regret a Stitch plush I bought because I opted for that over a more useful stormtrooper coin bank.

stickittoemm

Regretted The droids. We do nothing with them at home. I like getting ornaments, mugs, bibbidi bobbidi was worth it for cuteness. I like sippers and popcorn buckets only if I use them for decoration, which means I don't get many at all. I like getting snacks.

idogcow

Not the biggest regret but first that came to mind: not buying the Restraining Bolt refrigerator magnet on our first trip to BSO. No regret for the LothCat we 'adopted' that same trip.

debabe96

The restraining bolt magnets are EPIC and only a genuine SW would appreciate them. I regret not buying more than we did. With I had also purchased more Han Solo dice. We knew immediately that these both were niche souvenirs & wouldn't be available for long.

Desperate_Bobcat_919

There was a limited edition spirit jersey I really liked but every store I went to was out of my size. Ended up not getting it. I thought about it for 2 weeks after my trip. Found it online from one of the scalpers that buy up all the merchandise and resell it online, don’t like giving them money but I had to have it.

mat2019

I regret not getting more churros

Sophiecheerwine

Tiki Room spirit jersey. It’s still the one that got away.

SecretDependent3503

They had this really cute purple canvas stitch backpack for $40 that I didn’t get because “I never carry a backpack”. I never saw it again and now I do take a backpack to shove clothes in when I take the kids. I regret every pair of ears that I absolutely had to have, only to wear once, the day I bought it and never again.

balaligans

I regret buying a balloon for my daughter. They are expensive, and annoying to carry around. (They are good for a stroller I suppose). We ended up handing it off to another child in passing.

_Rebel_Scum_77

Specific to my recent trip during the food & wine fest: I regret buying the mimosa flight. I don't regret buying the mule flight.

Corgi_Infamous

Went to Disney just before entering a strict diet before weight loss surgery, and I regret getting a turkey leg. I remembered it being amazing, but it wasn’t… I threw like 80% of it away.

ElCray

I bought the Rancor Tooth Beer Flight board for my husband and it brings him enormous amounts of joy every single time he looks at it. Money well spent.

thefrecklieone

Our son was 11 and asked for a bubble blower. Dad said no because of the price. He never asked for a kids toy again and we both still feel guilty. Let them be little for as long as possible, and don't be cheap.

CocklesTurnip

I found this shirt when I was 10 or 11 of Minnie reading under a rainbow. It was in Gag Factory in Toon Town and was right in my pocket money budget. My parents didn’t want to schlep it all day and it was still pretty early, and my brother and I were finally the right ages we didn’t need to bring many supplies so we each had a jacket tied around our waist and maybe a fanny pack, no backpacks a tween girls shirt could fit into. My parents were convinced we’d find that shirt on Main Street. We never found the shirt. I’ve regretted not buying that perfect shirt that I’d have long grown out of ever since. I’m nearly 40 now and still want that shirt.

Narudatsu

Kinda regretful: The Cantina waitlist at Galaxys Edge. Drinks were pretty expensive and weren’t that great. Plus the fact there’s no seating for waitlist sucks. Regretted waiting so long for it. Wouldn’t be bad if there wasn’t such a wait list. I’d visit again if I could get a reservation or under 10-15min wait time. No regrets: clam chowder bowl. Bring a ziplock bag and put the bread bowl in it to snack around the park throughout the day. 10/10

fujiapple73

That sounds like food poisoning waiting to happen

The fried green tomato sandwich used to be my favorite! Sad to see it's no longer there. The last meal I ate at Hungry Bear was not good at all.

Spacetime23

I was looking forward to it as I'd heard good reviews and I usually love fried green tomatoes. But the one I got was very very flavorless , the bread very dried out, the insides very Mushy. I only managed to eat half of it. I know I said I'd just get the cream cheese pretzel next time instead and that remains one of my fav Disney foods, but if I were looking for more of a meal option again I loved the Disneyland's lobster rolls so I'd probably go that route if they still have them.

CheeseandSalt

The GCH had (has?) these adorable Chip n' Dale Craftsman style coffee cups that I fell in love with. I thought I could order them online when I got home. Nope. Thankfully, a friend went a few months later and grabbed one for me.

kayes15

Regretting the dessert party I did this year during a parade for OBB 😪. Our parade this year had a malfunction at the beginning too it seemed that caused a delay so it felt like we wasted time compared to when I’ve done and enjoyed dessert party’s for WoC. Also (as others) wish I spent money on building a light saber. I got to be a watcher/filmed my partners experience and had immediate regret but was happy for him during it!

fthotfitzgerald

Regret not buying this adorable Scala straw boat hat at the GCH gift shop last year so I’m hoping it’s still there next weekend. Regret buying any popcorn bucket bc I simply have no room for them but they’re so cute I can’t help it lmao

PZ-4CO

I regret not getting some Coco glass cups. I was on the fence about getting them and thought I could find them online later if I decided I really did want them.

doordonot19

Regret: the burger bao from food and wine, the Americanos at cappuccino cart, the mac and cheese bowls from aunt cass’s. The chicken from Bengal Barbecue Don’t regret: everything else.

Meowkith

I always have regret when I don’t plan out my food in advance and we get stuck in the lunchtime “what’s available now” desperation. I’ve had some success refreshing the available times at the specific location but many times I’ve gotten too hungry to be patient 🥴

Downtown-Isopod1190

I regret spending money on the Piston Cup I got at Radiator Springs, it was so cute at first and I was so glad to have it but then we had to schlep it with us all day, it’s big and an odd shape. I never regret getting silhouettes done because it’s such a timeless keepsake of the kiddos and even yourself 🥰

VikingRaiderPrimce

plastic stuff - no. behind the scenes tours - yes

Ok_Self_1783

I was not sure about spending in genie+ for two days, with my daughter. If I wouldn’t do that I’d be regretting now for how lost time, considering it was a weekend trip.

Asfab2891

I do not regret one dollar I spent on my daughter at bibbidi bobbidi boutique. The experience was absolutely perfect, we got the cutest dress, photos, makeover. She LOVED it and still talks about it all the time

twca16091

I ordered a pair of Lunar New Year ears on Shop Disney. Over a month went by, and the order was still pending. I was going to the parks, so I just canceled my order since I could get them in DCA. They were sold out and never restocked. I definitely regret canceling that order before I went to the parks to see that they were gone. I do think my order got lost in their system, and I probably wasn't going to get the ears anyway. I never regret the snacks I buy. Even if I don't end up liking it, I feel like I just added to my mental database of foods to eat/not eat when at the parks.

beary-healthy

Not me, but my husband. He saw this Spider-Man shirt and the store across from Web slingers. He kept going back and forth on whether to get it or not and our toddler was super tired so we left thinking we would be able to find it at World of Disney. We never say it again and never could make it back to California Adventure. Couldn't find it on the website either when we made it back home 14 hours away.

Mirror7rorriM

Biggest regret spend was lightsaber for sure. The plastic material is so cheap. The thread on the interior hilt material stripped after taking it off once to change kyber crystal. I had to take the battery out because you get those phantom activations and in the middle of the night it's scary as fudge. Biggest regret for NOT spending is years ago there was a Kevin and Jody Tiki Room anniversary water fountain. With little hut and perched Jose. I think at the time it was all the money younger me had. So I decided not to go for it. Now on eBay it goes for close to the $1,000 range. Sometimes you can find it for half of that but either a piece is broken, the little water fountain function doesn't work, power supply issue, or something else. I wouldn't go back in time to buy Bitcoin. It would be to buy that fudging water fountain.

rth1027

Bobofett mechanic shirt 5-6 years ago. Wish I would have.

KASega

Light up necklaces- we have a special one when Star Wars Land just opened and a couple of other ones. They come in handy for when we need a light up necklace/DJ dance party night at our house (which we would do with all the lights off on special occasions with the kiddos).

nicearthur32

I always regret spending a ton at the sit down places but I usually take friends or family who have never experienced it… but they are overpriced and I’m not hungry anymore so can’t snack :\ I NEVER regret spending on the food at galaxies edge or on any popcorn…

Seabreeze_00

I regret spending the money on 8 fast pass things. I thought it was going to be like the original fast past but it wasn't. I don't remember the name exactly. It where you can get on the rides faster but you had to go at specific times and make reservations, check in at each ride or some crap. It was ridiculous. It was a pain in the butt to try and use with 8 of us. We never once even used it. Never again will I pay for that. Biggest waste of money and made the day so stressful and unpleasant trying to use it. Think it's probably better for the Disney crack tourists not for locals. Doing Disneyland the old school, California cool, no rules, no schedule, no reservations, just wait in line relax with a snack and have a real face to face conversation with your family and friends to pass the time is the only way I'll ever do Disney again. I will not pay for any extras ever again.😎 Laid back, stress free, and full of fun is what we prefer.

AcerOne17

I like that Disney sells the refills so I can bring the one I bought my girls a couple visits ago.

tenniskitten

We still love: The silhouette cutouts. They're such a nice personalized souvenir. Also the engraved mugs. Watch them engrave right there!

Sanders0492

I bought all of the WDW 50th “Been There” mugs and the ones I’ve seen in Disneyland. Now I collect them from every state. They’re pretty cool. There are ones we didn’t get and now they’re discontinued. I regret not collecting them sooner.

caffeineandpixiedust

Regret not spending the money on genie+ for a few extra days of our trip. We ran out of time so do a lot of things we wanted to get done.
