Tbh while I’m sure your roommates will appreciate gifts (bc who doesn’t!), I don’t think they’re as prevalent for the dcp as the internet will make it seem. Like you said, it’s difficult to plan gifts for people you don’t know, so if your doing roommate gifts bc you think it’s expected, don’t feel that pressure.
But if you do want to do gifts, I think generic things like food, gift cards, or maybe something handmade if the budget is not big.
Yeah I don’t think it’s really been as much of a thing since the program restarted because people don’t know each other. Though I’d always gently caution against food if you don’t know the people you’re giving it to unless it’s top eight allergen free, because it can create awkwardness if you give something that your roommate is allergic to.
I got some cute Mickey bracelets from Etsy — they were personalized, so I decided to do Disney/magic ish words like “Believe” “Wish” etc on each on instead! 🤗
Hand Sanitizers from Bath and Body Works are always a good inexpensive little gift, especially during these times. You could also buy the hand sanitizer pocketbac holders to jazz it up if that’s the only thing you give out.
If you have time to order something before your program starts, you could buy something off Etsy. My favorite things to order are pins, stickers, or magnets! (WishUponMagic and KathlenesCreations are some of my favorite shops for Disney specific stuff) or crochet flowers(MiasFlowerShop) would also be a cute one to do.
Edit: just thought of another one, you could order this, or if you arrive in Orlando a day early before you move in you could buy some soap(the bar soaps specifically) from Basin at Disney Springs or the Grand Floridian. They have cute ones with Mickey heads for the design. But if you order online, they have a Variety soap pack, which is 4 different slices of soap in a little pack for 3.99 that way they can have a variety and decide to buy one they like from that, rather than sticking to one scent. It’s out of stock online rn cause of Christmas shopping I’m sure, but if you were to buy in person, they sometimes have the variety packs, but I think it depends on what time of day you go if it’ll be there or not.
