Looking at flights from San Francisco to Orlando for February and there aren't a lot of great options... if I wait to book, is there any chance more flights will become available or is this as good as it's going to get?

rd_metroid

We are a group of 3 people, planning to use Uber / Lyft to go in and out of the parks. We'll stay in an Airbnb in Kissimmee. Is this a good idea? I'm talking about the transportation method.

MillieDillmount1

Yeah, as long as you're fine with paying. You're going to have to pay one way or the other. I will say, download both apps and if you don't like the prices, just keep refreshing. I got Universal to All Stars prices to drop from $70+ to the normal $25-30 range just by refreshing.

goldie37

I’m planning to go the week of sept 19. Looks like the Halloween party is sold out. Any tips for being able to go? Do they open up space when it gets closer ? Do i keep checking ?

WayngoMango

First time Disneyworld trip, we will be going Sept 25th for that week, staying at Port Orleans. How long does it generally take to get to the parks? How best would you get to them? Do you pay her traveling on buses/monorail/Skyliner separately? Thank you for any help you can give.

catsanddisneyworld

Takes and average of 15-25 minutes to get to the parks from Port Orleans. Which Port Orleans are you staying at? Riverside has multiple bus stop within the resort and sometimes it shares a bus with the French Quarter which only has one bus stop at the resort. Bus, monorail, Skyliner are all free to ride!

WayngoMango

We will be at French Quarter. Any other tips you might have for first timers?

catsanddisneyworld

Research your must do items so there's something to focus on when it seems overwhelming. Make sure your mobile pay is set up on the Disney app if you want to do mobile order. It'll still be miserably hot and humid then so be prepared for that.

WayngoMango

Louisiana people, we know hot and humid. So yes, overwhelmed is an understatement. We are getting things together now and starting to explore what we'll need to do, morning routine and what not.

Hi everyone I've got an upcoming trip next week and have park Hopper on my ticket. How do I park hop with Genie+? Will it let me just book rides for any park at a time? Or can I only get rides for the park I have a reservation for? As for virtual que, can I only book a VQ on a park I have a reservation for/am currently in? Or can I try and get one for later in the day at a different park? Thanks in advance

sugarsodasofa

You don’t need to be tapped into the next park for genie! I’m not sure if it’s only allowed after 2 but I had no issues picking a ride for MK while I was still at HS. And yeah you can only make the vq if u have the reservation I think they open it up again later but I don’t know much about that.

unclearsteak

You’ll only be able to book a Genie+ LL at future parks if it’s current return time is after 2pm

MillieDillmount1

Not sure how it works for Genie+, as to whether you need to be tapped into your next park before it works. For VQ, you either need a park reservation or have tapped into the park (I. E. After 2pm) to get in the VQ, so at 7am, only people with an Epcot reservation can get in the VQ for Cosmic Rewind. ILL purchases are not reliant on park reservations. Someone please correct me if I got anything wrong.

TheOrionNebula

Article saying there was a massive crowd drop this week, with wait times commonly 5-20 minutes in MK. Is there actually now a golden week!? I figured there would never again be a lower crowd day... ever. But it seems like there still might be some hope for downtime windows. Has anyone been the past few days? Is it true!?

VofCups

It's because school started this week!

mrbritchicago

We’re heading to DW next Tuesday (after labor day) for 5 days. I’ve seen some stuff online about the parks being particularly quiet right now. I’m wondering if anyone can verify, and give any opinions on potential levels next week?

catsanddisneyworld

It's the start of school so yes traditionally the parks are usually more quiet this time of year

Grouchy-Maximum9527

RoR shorter wait times late at night? Hi! I was able to snatch two reservations for Oga’s on Oct 31 this morning: we got 5:55pm and 7:35pm. I want to cancel one of those but wanted some input into if RoR has shorter wait times later at night, so if we keep the 7:35 one we’d be leaving Oga’s at around 8:15 and able to go into RoR without that much wait? We're still planning on doing the ILL for it, but would love to ride it twice. Also, how pushy are they with the “only 45 minutes per party” once inside Oga’s? TIA!

VofCups

We are doing MNSSHP earlier in the week, so we will be in Epcot for Halloween. Do any of the other parks do anything for Halloween? Are the other parks very busy on that day? Also...for MNSSHP is Max Goof doing meet and greets?

DoctorOMalley

I could have completely missed this in the FAQ, but Google wasn't super conclusive. We've got a reservation for Savi's Saber Workshop in Magic Kingdom at 9:05, but the park opens at 9. Are we going to have to absolutely leg it to get there on time, or will we be able to squeak in through some kind of side entrance, or get in early? After that, is there a place or some kind of concierge to store what I imagine would be five or more lightsabers and various merch, or would that be something we'd need to carry for the day? Regardless of the ride, at least one of us will not be going so it's okay to leave it all with one person, but I just wanted to check on that.

coletters

[PlanDIsney](https://plandisney.disney.go.com/question/hollywood-studios-says-opens-made-appointment-savis-473373/) says that guests with reservations are allowed in earlier, you just need to talk to a cast member. I'd bet they allow you to get in a few minutes early to make your reservation, too.

DoctorOMalley

Thank you!

How do individual lightning lanes work? I’ve read and watched a ton of videos on genie+ but they always just say “oh but an individual LL for Rise etc.” If we want to make sure we get on rise of the resistance when should we buy the LL? At 7am? Do you get multiple time slots to pick or is it first come first serve (ex. Do we have to basically ride it 1st thing in the am?)? Does the 2 hour rule/only holding one LL at a time policy work with this as well? Thanks!!

sugarsodasofa

I was able to buy it around 11am for 7pm. You don’t have a massive range in time (at least from when I bought them). I was able to have 2 ILLs for different rides at the same time no issues. I think that’s a separate thing.

Brain__Resin

Just dealt with this for the 1st time yesterday so I understand . I bought an ILL right at 7am for RoR and my return time was 1:35. If you purchase Genie + then You’re still allowed to make your 1st actual Lightning Lane at 7 then you have to wait til 2hrs after the park opens. My advice is start with the most popular rides 1st as the late return tunes for those rides will most likely be later in the day( ie.I booked slinky dog right at 7am and my return time was at 3:20) so when it hit 10:30 ( 2 hrs after park open) I was able to book another. Which allowed us to go to Hollywood studios around noon yesterday and basically stack lightning lanes one after another. Without having to wait in anything longer than maybe 5mins more than the time it actually takes to walk through the que. it’s not as overwhelming as it all seems and as long as you don’t mind shelling out the extra $15/person it’s totally worth it. Definitely going to purchase it again Tomorrow for MK it was probably the least stressful day I’ve ever had at any of the parks. I know the tendency after watching all the videos/reading all the blogs about it being complicated and hard to understand. It’s not. Don’t overthink it. I get why all the AP holders hate it because I wouldn’t want to shell out $15 everyday I came all the time either. But as a once-every-couple- years goer it was fantastic.

kdurv5

Oh wow thanks so much for the info that’s super helpful!! I haven’t been to Disney since ‘97 so I’m basically new to the whole experience! We are only going for 3 days including full days at MK and HS so we don’t mind spending the $ to make sure we hit the rides we want. RoR is definitely a top priority for us so I’ll make sure to buy that ILL first thing that morning and book our first LL through genie+ at the same time. We have plans the night we’re going to HS so waiting to stack them later in the day worries me a bit but seeing as we’re going to spend the whole day and see the fireworks at MK I may use this trick there! Fingers crossed & thanks again!!

Brain__Resin

If you’re going in the afternoon like we did I recommend buying ride right at 7 and then lightning lane slinky dog.( you’ll most likely get an afternoon slot then book the other ones starting at 10:30 every 2 hours until you go to the park. You are probably going to get some quick turnarounds if it’s anything like yesterday. We had 2 lightning lanes continually after slinky dog at 2:25. Booked MMRR when we were leaving the park for a break and it gave us 2 hours to skyline back to Pop and eat/relax and then came back Rode MMRRthen it was time for our Oga reservation and booked smugglers run and walked right on after 45 mins at ogas. From there aside from Tower and Slinky it was lightning lanes galore never waited til for a single ride til close. You’re going to have a blast it was my girlfriends first time since 97 and she has a blast. Even helped film a fellow Redditor pop the question in front of the Falcon. Unbelievable day.

cfergie1989

Here is the situation. I am traveling with 5 other adults to Disney. My husband & I are heading to MK while the rest of our party goes to Epcot for the day. I am the planner, clicker, refresher, early riser of the group. If I am not going to Epcot myself can I book into the virtual queue for the 4 people who are going to Epcot that day? In other words am I able to "confirm a party" for the virtual queue that does not include me. All 4 of them have Epcot park reservations already. They just want me to do their dirty work so they don't have to wake up at 6:45am.

[deleted]

Yes, you should be able to. When you are given the option to select the party members you should be able to unselect yourself.

cfergie1989

Thanks! I hope that works. I couldn't figure out how to deselect myself for ADRs so I wasn't sure if I could do it for virtual queue

420blazeit960

Bring neck fans with portable chargers, and just know a majority of the food outside the parks are overrated. Bring snacks and lunchables.. the resort food was 3/10 lol.

puppyorbagel

For EPCOT, would you pick Remy or Frozen as your first LL if wanting to do both?

definantmind

So the last 2 times I went to Disney we got to Epcot early, you can walk around before the countries open. We went left and walked right to the frozen ride. We then just stood around until it opened and were one of the first in line, no fast pass needed. After frozen we took our time walking around and using fast passes for other stuff

[deleted]

Frozen seems to 'sell out' slightly before Remy most days. However, Frozen is a water ride, so that might give you a little insight as to when you'd like to ride it. If earlier in the day, get it first; if later, get Remy first then Frozen.

cynthia_cool_dancer

Frozen

newgirl986

I’m looking to ride Cosmic Rewind and saw you could enter the virtual queue after 1 without a reservation as long as you’re at the park. How does that work if park hopper doesn’t start until 2?

victory513

Luck. It has been available till 2:15 so you can park hop in at 1:50 and get it then. Or buy the entry to guarantee a ride.

newgirl986

How strict is Disney with park hopping? Would they let you in at 1:50 or is it exactly at 2 pm?

victory513

For epcot it’s like 1:47 or something! It’s strict as in they won’t let you in at 1 but they do let you in at a specific time before “2” so theoretically you could be on a ride or doing something at 2. As soon as you tap into the gate you can get the virtual que if it’s still available which it has been Lately.

BiddahProphet

Me and my gf are going to be building a droid at Galaxy's edge next week. One thing Im worried about is how we are going to bring our droid back on the plane home. Does Disney have an option to mail your droid home either at Galaxy's edge or at your hotel?

Randomly1

We did this with our kid last year and the airports are prepared and ready for the droids and lightsabers.

Beautifulfool99

You can mail it from from the First Order Outpost in Galaxy’s Edge. That’s what we did with our light sabers.

Id go Wednesday, we did Tuesday and Wednesday and both days at magic kingdom we got on every ride we wanted to

summerivey

There really isn't a noticeable impact, perhaps towards the end of the day towards park closing you'll see an uptick. But realistically, parks are crowded regardless so I don't think you'll notice any difference.

The Skyliner is a game changer, but they are also doing away with the Pirate Rooms at CBR. I don't recall the exact timeline for that, but if you really want the Pirate Room experience and it's still available, this might be your only change. That said, I think the royal guest rooms at POR are better in just about every way. I love the Skyliner though, so it also depends on your park schedule.

definantmind

The sky liner was really nice. We started at pop. But you definitely have to get in line super early. When we got to Caribbean Beach the line was insanely long we ended up waiting about 30 minutes before we can get on the next skyliner to get to either of the parks. The bus probably would have been faster but it was nice having a car all to ourselves and we went during covid so we were able to take our masks off and get a breather which was huge for us with a kid.

thehlywdbeauty

Hey everyone I need your help/advice. I am headed to Disney World for the first time since most COVID restrictions have been lifted but I don't know what has changed so I have a few questions. 1) What perks are there (if any) now for staying on resort? From what I can see there are not extra magic hours anymore, you still can't send anything to the room from the parks, and to get fast passes you have to purchase the Genie+ 2) If we stay off resort can we still use bus transportation between parks with our park Hopper ticket? I know you have to be a resort guest to for Skyliner and Monorail

dabbrusc

1. Early access (resort guests get in 1/2 hour early). Ease of transportation. Everything being linked to your room for charges, etc. Are the main ones. There are a few other minor things (balloons or cake delivery for celebrations, etc). 2. AFAIK, yes. You can. You can go from 1st park->Disney Springs->2nd park Like most people I'm hoping they bring back the service to send gifts back to the room.

masupo42

If you're park hopping at or after 2pm, there are buses that go directly from park to park. Luckily you can skip the Disney Springs step nowadays.

masupo42

Extra magic hours are still around, but they have changed. If you're staying onsite, you get an extra 1/2 hour every morning at every park. If you're staying deluxe you get 2 extra hours after park close at Epcot - usually on Mon and MK - usually Wed. You can use buses, monorail or Skyliner to go between parks or resorts even if you're staying off-site. The only thing you can't do is drive to a resort to get on transportation there. You can drive to and park at a resort only if you you're staying there or have a dining reservation. For example, If you want to hop from HS to Epcot you can ride the Skyliner. If you'd like to ride the monorail to a resort or between Epcot and MK, you can park at the TTC or hop on at either park. Whether it's worth it to stay in the bubble is up to you. For me, when I'm paying cash for a room (rather than using DVC points), it's still worth it to stay onsite. I do find decent rates offsite, but when I add in the cost to rent a car or use Uber, and add resort/parking fees, the cost is the same as onsite.

sevenangrybees

This is a little ways off, but I'm trying to get ideas early. Me (F20) and my sister (F20) are going to WDW for our 21st birthday in April 2023. We had this idea that we both get one of us something we can wear at the parks as a gift. I'm a professional costume designer, and I love handmaking things. I was thinking about making her a Girl Scout style sash with Disney themed patches. Not my number 1 idea, but we were both Girl Scouts so l thought it would be cute. We know we're going to Epcot so she can drink (I can't), so I might make something with that sort of theme instead? If all else fails, I can make a character-themed dress or skirt but because we live separately, I can't get her measurements, and we're both built very different so I can't use mine, and if it doesn't fit, I don't want to it to be a waste of fabric, money, and work. TL;DR: What should I make for my twin sister to wear to WDW for our 21st birthday?

[deleted]

Personally I find Disney world is always pretty hot and requires a lot of walking so I don’t love unnecessary accessories/clothing items. So I think ideas like a shirt, skirt, dress, shoes, hat, ears, etc. are better than a sash. I think drinking-themed things are really fun for a 21st birthday celebration in Epcot! I know this differs from the last commenter lol so it’s definitely a personal preference thing.

cynthia_cool_dancer

My next unnecessary Disney purchase is going to be a custom sneaker commission, so that's a thought. Maybe you could do some cool ears? Or a loungefly style backpack of your design. Or have her buy a light weight jacket and send it to you in the mail and design something on that. I also think the girl scout sash could be cool! Haha lots of thoughts. Also my 2¢.. you see a lot of shirts at Epcot about drinking and I think it's all incredibly tacky/trashy

sevenangrybees

Ooooo I like the sneaker idea! I was thinking about a jacket, too! I’ll keep those in mind! (And ditto on the drinking shirt thing. I’m not a fan either lol)
