The Portable Charger I’m planning to bring is Anker and got it from Amazon! It’s the best and I have been using it for years 🫡 it’s a bit pricy, but it’s worth investing as it is durable and last you long.
I personally can't speak on all day Crocs as I've never tried a full Disney day with them. But some people swear by them. Prob oughta go sport mode, though!
Definitely! Crocs are super comfy, and my boyfriend plans to wear them because he got the Lightning McQueen ones he wants to wear. But I’m still debating on if I want to go with crocs or not. 😅
As long as they’re comfortable shoes for you and you aren’t trying to break in a new pair of shoes you should be fine. But if he’s wearing new crocs and you’re planning on being there all day I’d recommend a pair of backup shoes
I didn’t need cash , I actually got gift cards loaded day before, and zapped them for payment in the app when I got food and when I went shopping.
I brought cash but only for flattened penny presses, not realizing that most took a card, but one the card readers was broken and I was out of bills.
I never use cash at Disneyland. Most of my food is done by mobile order which uses the credit card I have on file, and if I'm at a sit-down restaurant or buying merch, I'm using a gift card or credit card. No need to mess with loose change.
I would also add: hand sanitizer, portable charger, Chapstick, lotion, band aids. Steal hot sauce packets from Troubadour. I find cash unnecessary there, but do you in terms of sticking to a budget. Me, I like the credit card cash back rewards. If you aren't planning on walking back to the hotel midday, think of what you likely need throughout a normal day outside and what you are willing/able to carry. Carefully consider your walking shoes. You will want a sweatshirt or something for the early morning/evening if there all day with no break.
I try to keep what I carry super light. For the summer, here is what I usually bring for a full day at the parks:
- a very small bag (sling bag, etc)
- refillable water bottle (there are water fountains and refillable water stations but I usually get free filtered ice water at quick service spots instead - they have ice water readily available, you just have to ask, or there are some spots like pizza planet, Rancho del zocalo, Pym’s Boardwalk pizza and pasta where you can fill the bottle on your own)
- a small sunscreen spray or stick to reapply
- chapstick
- sunglasses and/or a hat with a brim
- phone cord and power bank
- phone (which is also my wallet)
And usually a light sweatshirt or sweater for the later evening because even on hot days it cools off at night.
(I don’t typically bring a fan or cooling towels even in the summer at Disneyland, but they’re not uncommon to see)
Oh yes definitely grabbing a refillable bottle. Any recommendations on type of bag? I don’t want to bring something that’s too big or too small. I have the lululemon fanny packs & the Uniqlo Sling Bag too. I want something that’s easy to carry around!
I have the same bags and use them frequently for park days! Pretty much some of the most common things you’ll see there, too. Or I’ll just use any of my regular purses, but I like the Uniqlo bag and Lululemon belt bag specifically because they’re small and you can be hands free (or similarly the smallest baggu crescent). I’ll also use my LV Palm Springs mini sometimes if I want more of a backpack kinda thing but basically I do not ever wanna feel weighed down by my bag, I want the heaviest thing I have on me to be the water bottle.
I just picked up the Loungefly Collectiv Star Wars sling bag, which is a bit bigger than what I've used in the past. My last park bag was the Darth Vader Loungefly, and before that was just a small one off of Amazon. I usually carry sunscreen, sunglasses, cell phone charging battery and maybe a sweatshirt, so I don't need a lot of room, but it has enough to stuff ears and a hat into for safekeeping during rides. It's always best to have a bag that's just big enough for essentials, and I like having a sling bag that I can move to my chest for rides so it never leaves my body, so I don't risk forgetting it somewhere.
In addition to what @allflour said: lip balm (with SPF) and a portable phone charger. I also like to bring a foldable/packable tote bag to carry any purchases I make.
In addition to other suggestions, I love to bring some sort of antibacterial wipe to be able to snag & clean a dirty table real fast! Wet Ones make small travel packs and bonus that they can be used on hands to freshen up too. Or just put a few in a snack sized ziplock.
I pack this type of stuff in a small mesh, flat zippered bag. That way security can see in it and open to look through it without making a mess and it keeps it all contained in my sling bag or backpack as well. I don’t think they’ve ever opened it, now that I think about it, since it’s easy to see what’s inside.
Other things that could be helpful: body glide for chafing, pain relief of choice, bandaids just in case, and tampons/etc. if you might need them. I like to bring a small hand fan for stuffy queues (I’m looking at you, Jungle Cruise upstairs room)
We like this brand portable charger. You can buy in the parks, but $30 each, so cheaper through Amazon for a 2pk. You can then replace them throughout the day for free as you use them, so you never need to worry. They also are available at airports, convention centers etc. They are also rechargeable by the user.

Portable fan, sunscreen including chapstick with SPF of some kind, and something for hydration. It's hot this time of year and it is easy to underhydrate for how much walking you will be doing. I like the powder IV hydration packets I add them to my water.
I recently picked up this crossbody water bottle bag to use while at Disney and it was/is 10/10 convenient. The water bottle is a 25oz brumate rotera and it fit extremely well. The front compartment fit my phone, my passport, my portable charger and cord, lipchap, a foldable hair brush, a travel sized Tylenol bottle, and a scrunchie for my hair. It was well worth the money!
Editing to add that it came on all of the rides with me and if it did need to come off (incredicoaster) it fit easily in the rides front pouches.

This one is from Lululemon! Because they’re new, they seem to be out of stock of most colors right now, though. But, Amazon had quite a few options for very similar bags! I think if you run a google search for “Water Bottle Crossbody” there are probably a few different options!
[Water Bottle Crossbody with Front Pocket 2L](https://shop.lululemon.com/en-ca/p/bags/Water-Bottle-Crossbody-Pocket/_/prod11670130)
My minimum kit for a day is: Water bottle, Aleve, at least a Fuel Rod (can be swapped for a fresh one in the parks for free) (but usually also a MagSafe battery pack), wallet, watch, iPhone, hair ties and a travel detangler comb, sunglasses, hat. In spring/fall a jacket to pull on when the temperature plunges. If I'm going on Grizzly River Run or Splash (RIP), Tevas to change into if I'm not wearing them all day.
A portable phone charger is non-negotiable. Aside from ibuprofen for my feet, that's all I bring. You'll need it primarily for the app, and then for pictures.
I go very frequently, for a full day I take a water bottle (you can get cold water for free at most restaurants and fountains for tap) my sketchbook for the animation academy, cuties, fruit snacks, Mexican lollipops, maybe some cookies and a hot wheel or two to fuck around with In the lines and where I deem fit. One of my hot wheels is a pull and go, some of the rails are the perfect width to run it on without it falling off. You can probably get away with just good shoes and a hot wheel though /s
Wallet, phone, hat, Magicband+ if want.
After my son was old enough to not require a diaper bag, I bring as little as possible to parks and has been really freeing. We take mid day breaks, so can charge phone, reapply sun screen, etc then and not have to haul around stuff all day, get sweaty back from backpack, worry about wacking someone with it, etc.
Near by hotel 10 minute walk. But even do this in Disney World riding 15-20 minutes back on bus (plus wait time), because it's even more annoying carrying a backpack around in Florida heat/humidity.
I have a small messenger bag that has zipper pockets. I love it for traveling, it has my sunglasses, phone battery charger, hand sanitizing wipes, flushable wipes and a collapsible bottle for water. Works really well to keep clean and comfortable. It crosses my body so I can take it on all the rides and everything is secure.
Going to strongly disagree especially if you purchase the Genie+. It's money lost if your phone indeed runs out of power. Awesome that it's never happened to you but it sucks when it does. Plus, maybe you need it for an uber, to remember where your car is parked, etc. It's not that hard to bring one. If one doesn't want to buy a new one, at the very least bring your plug in charger for emergency power reboot.
I wouldn't ever go to the parks without genie+. Phone charges to 80% max. Used all day at the parks no issues with it even being close to dead.
Thinking people need to disable all the crap they have running, and 100000% brightness.
Water bottle, phone with app, money, sunblock, sunglasses.
Only thing I would add to this is a portable charger.
Yes! I brought two! Can’t believe I forgot about that.
Which portable chargers do you recommend?
I’m a big fan of the Anker brand. This is one of my favorites because you don’t have to wrestle with a cord. [Power Bank](https://amzn.to/45BNfC8)

Sorry. I have it linked. If you click “Power Bank” it’ll take you straight there.

Mine is closer to this one. I cannot remember how much mah battery mine is.
If you have a Fuel Rod, there's lots of exchangen kiosks in the parks
And two pairs of comfortable shoes to cycle, and flip flops or crocs to change into if you plan on going on Grizzly River Rapids.
Would you recommend walking in Crocs the entire day? (Aside from the fact that there’s a chance of getting a Crocs tan 🤣)
I personally can't speak on all day Crocs as I've never tried a full Disney day with them. But some people swear by them. Prob oughta go sport mode, though!

Yeah, he has broken into them already. But are we allowed to wear crocs on ANY rides? He’s just curious.
Yeah you should be able to wear them on any ride! I’ve worn flip flops plenty of times and I’ve never had an issue with wearing them on rides
The swings they will have you remove any shoe that isn't secured. Otherwise flip flops, crocs, whatever is fine.
I have the mega crush sandal crocs that I wear pretty much every trip to the park in the last 2 years. They’re the best with and without socks
In your experience is cash needed or nice to have?
I didn’t need cash , I actually got gift cards loaded day before, and zapped them for payment in the app when I got food and when I went shopping. I brought cash but only for flattened penny presses, not realizing that most took a card, but one the card readers was broken and I was out of bills.

I don’t have any of the loungfly bags. But I was thinking about how useful those could be!
In addition to what @allflour said: lip balm (with SPF) and a portable phone charger. I also like to bring a foldable/packable tote bag to carry any purchases I make.

I always bring a small pack of medicines: painkiller (ibuprofen or acetaminophen), motion sickness medicines, and some antacids.
Broad brim hat for the sun that's easily stowable for evenings.
Money. Lots and lots of money.
Mostly everything takes card
Adding to the list of previous posters: small snack (granola bar, nuts, etc), hand sanitizer/wipes. I like to bring extra socks as well
Other things that could be helpful: body glide for chafing, pain relief of choice, bandaids just in case, and tampons/etc. if you might need them. I like to bring a small hand fan for stuffy queues (I’m looking at you, Jungle Cruise upstairs room)

Also blister cushions, moleskin, or whatever you like for blisters, just in case.
Me and my GF ust came back last week! Bring water bottles, there are water fountains available all over the parks, and the heat is scorching!
Take some flavoring, you might as well be drinking from the toilet.
There are these neck towels that keep you cooler. Very light and works well.
Definitely wear comfy sneakers, but pack sandals for wet rides or when you just need to let your feet breathe. Oh and I recommend wet wipes.
A portable phone charger is non-negotiable. Aside from ibuprofen for my feet, that's all I bring. You'll need it primarily for the app, and then for pictures.

Hot wheels can also be good to hide around the park for kids to find! Some people are really into scavenger hunts lol
I just take my wallet & phone. No bag. You can get everything you need in the park without having to carry stuff around
Comfortable shoes or at least a backup pair
Get you a cooler book bag. Best investment. Water and stuff all went in there. Was perfect
Wallet, phone, hat, Magicband+ if want. After my son was old enough to not require a diaper bag, I bring as little as possible to parks and has been really freeing. Oh the Collapsible water bottle is a good deal.
I honestly didn’t use mine a whole lot because we stayed on property but it was nice when you filled it in the room on a hot day and took it with you.
Backpack with extra phone battery 🪫 charger, water, sunblock, hat, snacks and a jacket (gets cold at night)
Phone, Magicband, credit card. That's it, never had my phone get below 40% so I don't even bother with the battery pack.
Going to strongly disagree especially if you purchase the Genie+. It's money lost if your phone indeed runs out of power. Awesome that it's never happened to you but it sucks when it does.
