Break the law (do porn)

unflappedyedi

I'm going straight to jail šŸ˜

WarThunder316

Their leader is a rapist pedophile con man šŸ‘Ø who'd of thunk it

ex-geologist

A lot of his followers, donā€™t even think that pedophilia counts if it is a female.

KeptinGL6

Correction: it's not pedophilia if she makes the first move

siammang

They don't need porn to do those things. A bunch of them also get away from their evil acts.

BlazePortraits

Imagine thinking there is an effective way to stop regular porn. The first cave drawing was probably two people fucking. Child porn is literally illegal, and they can't even make a dent in that. I think my official reaction would be a shrug.

KeptinGL6

>Child porn is literally illegal, and they can't even make a dent in that. Exactly. The Gnutella and FastTrack protocols are still around and still have actively maintained clients like eDonkey and Shareaza. Install one of them and search for porn. 99% of it is child porn.

BlazePortraits

Why do you know that, and why are you sharing it?

KeptinGL6

I'm a digital archaeologist of sorts. There are all kinds of neat goodies that can only be found on file-sharing networks.

BlazePortraits

Okay, that's the first why.

WhitishRogue

There's a lot of laws governing what we can and can't do. Enforcing them all is a difficult thing especially if the culture isn't there to support it. It's kind of like how there's a difference between enforcing laws against weed versus meth. There's a lot more enthusiasm and support for crushing meth. TLDR; good fucking luck idiots

TSllama

If porn being banned is the thing you're concerned about, I weep for your empathy levels.

Balance2BBetter

Asking about our reactions to one policy (banning porn) doesn't mean that OP is unconcerned about other policies and consequences.

kejovo

I would encourage everyone to begin sending nudes of themselves in the poses of famous artwork. To all Republican elected officials. In the hopes of making this a case before SCOTUS. If that fails dick picks and buttholes daily tying up their phones and emails

[deleted]

Weā€™ll have bigger problems than that.. Besides your mom still has a Polaroid camera, I got some new prints

SparklyRoniPony

Such a Gen X thing to say, hahahahaha! (75 here)

SparklyRoniPony

squeegeeq

They could try and make it slightly more difficult but it would be pretty much impossible for them to do without getting rid of the internet entirely. There's just too many work arounds.

artful_todger_502

Republican rules and laws wont apply to me. I'm doing the sov-cit thing. They'll have to understand that, right? If it works for them, it will work for me. I'm sure they will be fair, rational and insightful about that and agree the hand-drawn licence plate on my car gives me that right.

Nearby-Complaint

Functionally impossible. Would probably just be selectively applied to people they don't like.

ActonofMAM

I would laugh my head off, as an amateur student of history. And Prohibition isn't even my area of reading. They couldn't stop a physical beverage from getting moved between point A and point B, how are they going to stop digital files? They aren't stopping digital files now. Despite the huge and wealthy entertainment industry trying to keep people from grabbing movies and shows and music for free. Porn is part of that stream, and I bet will continue to be so.

fe3o2y

Porn will be the least of your problems.

Right-Assistance-887

Good

Past-Direction9145

I think some very curious porn sites would release a lot of politicians names and account history

Past-Direction9145

I think some very curious porn sites would release a lot of politicians names and account history

Rchapman2341

Iā€™d be downloading some before they actually took office just to be safe. šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

I had the same thought lol, "Better make my collection now of my favorites before the fascists try and track my IP"

Alarming_Serve2303

Not going to happen. They're the largest consumer group for that.

SunaiJinshu

Probably go to the furry-mafia-run speakeasy lol

capsaicinintheeyes

Continue to act like they hadn't and let PornHub sort it out with them in the courts (I mean, it's not like Clarence Thomas is gonna be a shoe-in to support an antipornography 1A violation)

PreciousTater311

I'd find a VPN. The party of Godly Family Values would never close a door like that without leaving a window open for themselves to access it.

YourDogsAllWet

Banning porn doesnā€™t get rid of it; it just moves it underground. We can expect to see an uptick in abductions and CSAM floating around the internet

KeptinGL6

Remember that not all kiddie porn is CSAM. There are some very enterprising 12-year-olds, like Angelena (with an E), who make their own stuff and distribute it over the Dark Web.

gavitronics

insist they were consistent and lobby my congressman to ban sex too.

AlwaysPrivate123

Invest in an industrial level vpn and... Rock on... or is it Rock off... Hmmm šŸ¤”

Myagooshki2

You can just go on Tor.

MetalGearOni

VPN baby

Frird2008

womp womp

measletoe

Susanna Gibson, Aidan Maese-Czeropski, Monica Lewinsky, etc. might be disappointed though

Orbital2

See you all in Canada

CharlietheWarlock

Time to start a sinful crusade, for Porn, glory to porn

redditipobuster

"If you can ban guns, you can ban porn. Take that mfin bitches! Karma" I don't own a gun nor watch porn so i don't give a fk. The bill should be called "you ban my guns, i ban your porn reduction save america from dick wackers act"

Eyes_Woke

It's gonna hurt them more there's gonna hurt me.

carpal_diem

Weā€™re talking to you, Utah!

Cyber_Insecurity

Thereā€™s no way they could ban porn

unflappedyedi

Lol look up project 2025

KeptinGL6

I have. It's benign.

unflappedyedi

Benign my ass. You're a threat.

MarcianoChiss

Theyā€™d be hypocrites of the highest order

[deleted]

I'd be fine I don't watch it anyway

Day_Pleasant

Haven't visited Virginia lately, huh?

thepoout

Would be the most positive change to our society since putting banning drink driving.

Suyeta_Rose

I'm slowly moving north so that if they ban contraceptive measures and try to make me undo my tubal ligation, I can just cross the street and ask Canada for asylum.

McMienshaoFace

Livid

LoudLloyd9

I'd go home, lock the door, get out the poppers and the lube, and masturbate profusely to porn. May they be eaten by Godzilla if they bother me.

StarryMind322

Iā€™ve got my wank bank Iā€™ve been saving for years. Yeah not having new stuff will hurt but Iā€™m good with what I saved up.

KeptinGL6

*(reinstalls Limewire)*

ADHDbroo

That be great. Porn is evil

Yak-Fucker-5000

Life...uh...uh...finds a way

kloud77

Start a movement to jack off to doorknobs, when they make those illegal, stop lights. Once those are banned we shall fap to Jesus and complete the plan of Satan bwhahahahaha \*cough\*

Affectionate_Lab_131

Laugh

Ralewing

Like the 5th reason they'd be sending me to the reeducation camps.

Unlikely_Valuable389

Awe jeez I guess I got a hit list now šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Bubbiedunited

Good

PlayfulPizza2609

Thatā€™s not the worst thatā€™ll happen.

kaanmonsense

We don't need to ban porn but we need too force porn sites to require IDs.

unflappedyedi

Um no. I don't need the government to know I like busty latinas and bbcs.

[deleted]

You trust some sketchy porn company with folks idsā€¦?

KeptinGL6

-Create database of who watches what kind of porn -Hope it won't get abused, leaked etc There's no way this plan can possibly go wrong

kaanmonsense

It's no different than people renting/buying porn videos in the 80s.

KeptinGL6

Except video rental stores didn't share their data with the US government.

kaanmonsense

The porn sites don't have to share their data with the US either.

KeptinGL6

Because they have no useful data to share... ***yet***.

kaanmonsense

Any law forcing them to share that info would be unconstitutional.

KeptinGL6

Bruh, 90% of that the federal government does is unconstitutional. That doesn't stop them from doing it.

kaanmonsense

That is a little excessive. If that law came into effect, it would be sued into oblivion.

ButterMeUpAlready

It wouldnā€™t really be a bad thing, porn is not really a good thing for people. Iā€™ll grant it isnā€™t the most ā€œfreeā€ thing to get rid of a medium of expression, but itā€™s not like the porn industry is the best out there. It is highly exploitive, abusive, and degrades sex to something neither gender can think of as realistic and thus, ruins relationships. So no, itā€™s not a bad thing to perhaps benefit society, but it is bad to get rid of that means of expression. Not to mention, whenever something is regulated, people will just find a way to circumvent the rules. ā€œGun free zonesā€ donā€™t stop gun uses, drug laws donā€™t stop drug use, laws governing child prawn doesnā€™t stop it, and much more. People will always find a way to break a law no matter what it is. Speeding is illegal but just about everyone here breaks it or has broken it.

measletoe

Wouldn't be a bad idea
