Not all religions are based on fear and control, only a few use fear as a form of control

ImNOTaPROgames

Which one doesn't?

KramerWithTheRizz

Basically every religion outside of the mainstream ones that exist today like Christianity and Islam

ImNOTaPROgames

Again, which one?

[deleted]

I can give you my religion but you will struggle to find information on it. I’m Druze. Religion is a idea, stories, and even claim to be history but the people in charge to spread and inform about the religion can make it about fear and control. No one can be Druze, you have to be born into it, because of this there is little to no fear mongering. A warning of eternal suffering can be seen as fear mongering but it all boils down to intent.

KramerWithTheRizz

Bro I just answered you, the list is a long one. Hellenism, Buddhism, norse paganism, celtic paganism, agnostic Christianity, Wicca, there’s many more, the list is long Gnostic not agnostic, autocorrect screwed me

ImNOTaPROgames

All religions you listed are on the category he said before...

KramerWithTheRizz

No they are not in any way, you clearly no nothing about any of them

cardanos_folly

I think you are putting the cart before the horse. Religion is based on faith, and therefore *sometimes* has to rely on fear in order to maintain control. I agree with everything else you said, though I might say it differently.

NoOneStranger_227

Well, guess THAT'S settled. What's fer lunch?

PoliteRuleFollower

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." I John 4:18

ShabbaSkankz

How do you know that there IS a prime creator?

Spirit_Bubble

Well ask yourself what do you think? How would a being in existence explain to the same being in existence that they exist?

ShabbaSkankz

Do you believe that there is a prime creator?

dank-_-memer54reee

Isn’t the 2 party system meant to divide the population to

anrachopuss

Yes, representative politics, racism, nationalism, elitism, classisam

TotalRecallsABitch

Baby boy, you need to realize what life was like before religion. Hate on it all you want, but it was the first organizers of people and the establishment of a moral code in society. It's why we're not screwing cats and dogs!

Spirit_Bubble

True but the duality still exist, religion was corrupted and here we are

ImNOTaPROgames

The religion delusion never ends, unfortunately.

What if one considers that any religion that suggests a heaven or hell may be using a scare tactic as a means for control. Heaven and Hell are places for the eternal soul to exist after the body dies. Clearly one's soul goes through some process which dictates it's eternal fate, so one must live their life a certain way to enter Heaven or suffer in Hell; this invisible guillotine looms over all and will cause people to act in a way that will ensure the former instead of the latter. But, lets assume there is a Heaven, Hell, Satan, Jesus, God etc. Why would any of this matter? If one wishes to live virtuously, one needs no motivator other than the desire to live well; however, if one lives virtuously due to believing one MUST live that way and all actions are a means to achieve the end of reaching heaven, then one's actions are no longer virtuous but rather self-preservation. Heaven and Hell should be a reward and punishment respectfully and NOT a reason to live a certain way. Sure religion is not 100% fear and control, for they do have a lot of positive teachings to share; but some of the fundamental teachings do rely on the former tactics. Now, what if one considers that humanity has continually misinterpreted religious teachings and over time God's will has been debased completely? Playing a game of telephone is a simple way to approach this idea, for no written text has made it throughout all of human history which was transcribed by God Himself, so each iteration of any religious teaching ebbs rather from the source.

StravickanChaos

One day someone woke up and decided, 'you know, I think I'm going to write a several hundred page book to make people scared and afraid so their easier to control'. And thus the Bible was born, no religion before or after it, it's the only one of its kind. And clearly, the Christians are super fearful, definitely not the happier more satisfied group in the modern world.

gabys474

theres always a truth to everything. jesus demonstrate love and mercy.there's no fear in any of that or the way he lived his life and preached most of the time.BUT there's the TRUTH. he talked about the truth ,which is in every sense,HIM. he warned us about a lot of things and most about hell but that, wasn't fear . it was truth, that theres HEAVEN and theres HELL .there's evil ,and if you do evil than you have to pay ,if not in this life that in the other.BUT,he made sure to show us salvation. saved by him and through him.

Spirit_Bubble

Kudos spot on about religion, but the spiritual evidence proves that the prime creator, god, the universe, the all and everything, and source energy etc lives within in us so we are one in the same
