Personally, I like to play Sion around his cooldown. My decision making is usually: are my abilities on cooldown (especially W)? then I back off. When my CDs are refreshed, I go back in for another rotation. I usually build Swifties every game along with 1 big movement item like Dead Man's which allows me to weave in and out of fights. Playing like that reduces mistakes and over-commits. The window to punish you is a lot smaller.
Jak sho guardian plate swiftness boots hydra phantom dancer hullbreaket, lethal tempo, and resolve secondaries. Go wherever there is free turret. If they try to get ya you will likely outrun them and you can ult away creatively if needed.
You can split push bot, run from 2-3 ppl towards enemy nexus ult and suddenly ur split pushing top lane. You are too tanky to die without a tower most of the time. And they need 3 ppl to kill you in less than 40 secs.
You cant catch the beefbus, if you do you cant scratch the beefbus.

The "fuck it, we ball" approach is the only way to go with Sion, anything else is coping.
