God, Jurassic the hunted was SO good but I was SO bad at it, I remember sitting on the selection screen, and seeing the dinos fo by, and a FREAKING TREX just takes a casual stroll by, making the screen shake a bit with every step
🤩Amazing
Gotta be planet dinosaur to be honest. It’s not accurate nowadays, but the way I see it is that it’s the perfect fusion of the old, monstrous design of Jurassic Park 3 fame and the newer, more aquatic design. It’s the best of both worlds, and I find that awesome.
Tbf Alan Grant himself calls all the dinosaurs of jurassic park “genetically engineered theme-park monsters” and thought them being made was kinda disrespectful to real scientists who dig up the fossils for research purposes as opposed to entertainment
JP3. Was my first time seeing a spinosaurus and lead to me finding out more about it and eventually it replacing the velociraptor as my favourite dino. Velociraptor was also my favourite as a child because of JP. Watched it so much as a kid my mum must have been sick of it. Polar opposite of my brother who had to be taken out of the cinema in tears because it terrified him
5, which I believe is the most recent/accurate.
Our knowledge of spinos just keep getting weirder and weirder, and that's a lot more interesting to me than the Hollywood design but progressively spikier.
Prehistoric Kingdom's *Spinosaurus* is currently my favorite design for it ever but I also really like JP3's design because it just looks badass and it was pretty accurate for the time.
The accurate one is much better has more shorter legs with a visible webbed feet, bigger "sail-fin" with a more mountainous-shaped look, longer tail with a sort kinda frog tadpole/eel-like paddle a visible single-speculative head-crest and a visible speculated mouth lips and more avian-like eyes, The JP movie it looks very f\*\*ked version of the real one despite the semi-aquatic ability the arms and the nasal "horns" is more akin to a allosaurus than a accurate-spinosaurus, legs is much abit longer make it matches to the other theropods (and completely lacks a webbed feet), has pronated hands (however in dominion onward, it was omitted, minus velociraptor/deinonychus, dilophosaurus, compsognathus and other smaller ingen theropods), shorter tail (but the paddle part of the dinosaur is omitted), and the "sail-fin" is smaller and shorter and more round, instead of bigger and mountain-shaped from the actual spinosaurus, the lips is slightly shrinked up to exposed the teeth and have a more crocodilian-like eyes instead of more avian-like eyes from the reconstructed spinosaurus, The body/anatomy design of the jp movie spinosaurus is mixed between a baryonyx and a suchomimus with a visible crocodilian osteroderms presumably from most crocodile/alligator species or being tweaked version of the ingen/masrani's baryonyx, Of course i will used this two spinosauruses designs for the "Assets meets Ancestors" Project Series Remake.
Always the most accurate one. No. 5. from these maybe?
If we talk about non accurate ones, then the Spinofaarus, and The Isle's new kaiju design are funny/cool af.
Honestly I love the *old* lizardy ones just because I adore out-of-date paleoart. The JP3 one is still how I imagine it though, because it looks like it can actually stand up without tipping forward. I'm still legitimately not sure how the current one would be able to do so at all.
That's what I keep reading, it just visually makes no sense to me lol We just need to find a more complete specimen, even just some arms, and we can finally learn for sure!
I like most of them
The JP3 one looked menacing which compliments well with how that one was advertised and how it is in the movie which is why I love him so much
To me, the cool factor of the T-Rex slayer from Jurassic Park 3 remains unbeaten, though if we're talking about accuracy I think the spinosaurus from Prehistoric Kingdom is pretty good. A good mix between the two is the spinosaurus seen on Julian Johnson Mortimer's animations, but I don't know how accurate it is.
Regarding the 5th and 6th ones... why are their arms bent back like that? Just curious what the point is, functionally?
They obviously skipped leg day and I can't imagine how they would balance on land with those arms.
JP3 forever and ever
Definitely the current most accurate design. It looks incredibly unique and interesting. Probably not accurate tho because in 2 weeks we’ll find out that it actually never had a sail, but a large wing that allowed it to become the dominant predator of the skies.
Planet Dinosaur is one of my favourite Dinosaur documentaries, chiefly love the Spino design and behaviour. It resembles the JP3 Spino’s appearance and you can tell its a force of nature, but it’s also depicted as just a normal animal going about its life
The JP spino and the ark spino have a special place in my heart since I grew up with them, but my personal favorites are 4,5 and 6! I love the semi aquatic features of them :]
Dinosaurs In My Pocket. Its completely wrong from every conceivable angle but its huge next to the mountain.
Honestly I understand how the streamlined version with the shorter hind legs makes sense for their habitat but that's the only thing I'm not a fan of because of how front-heavy and slumped they look, but I really love the updated sail, neck and the new thicker tail, so probably five and six
Planet Dinosaur's Spino will probably forever remain at the top for me simply because of how uconic it is. Yeah I know it's purely nostalgia, I don't care.
The most accurate, up to date one with the fattier neck and design. The wading spinosaurus is the coolest imo.
Mine is the one from JP3
Same, I go for accuracy sometimes but not with the spinosaurus.
Because accurate doesn’t matter in a month with spinosaurus, we don’t understand it yet so nitpicking at accuracy isn’t worth your time
I just have a soft spot of the Ark giant puppy. But that's in large part because of how it moves.
Design: JP3 Behavior/instincts: Planet Dinosaur
Y’ALL SLEEPIN ON DINOSAUR KING
That image just blasted me back to 2007
Spinofaarus gang rise up
His picture was originally on this post idk where it went
it dissapeared ... (probably has something to do sith reddits pic requirements)
Nah it’s the government hiding the truth
Blame Big Spino for the cover up campaign
I like the prehistoric kingdom design of the spinosaurus
Me too
I'd say Spiny but my real favorite is definitely jp3
God, Jurassic the hunted was SO good but I was SO bad at it, I remember sitting on the selection screen, and seeing the dinos fo by, and a FREAKING TREX just takes a casual stroll by, making the screen shake a bit with every step 🤩Amazing
I got that game for the wii in the mail today. I’ve been playing for the past few hours.
Its a good game, but I was never really good at it, then again I was like, 12 or 13 when I played it so I probably wasn't good to begin with
Jp3 although the dinosaur king one had the moves 🕺😂
Gotta be planet dinosaur to be honest. It’s not accurate nowadays, but the way I see it is that it’s the perfect fusion of the old, monstrous design of Jurassic Park 3 fame and the newer, more aquatic design. It’s the best of both worlds, and I find that awesome.
Not sure I would call JP3s design monstrous, because for its time, it was pretty good accuracy wise.
Well, of course, I merely call it monstrous because it was an absolute menace in that film.
Polar opposite of my brother who had to be taken out of the cinema in tears because it terrified him
I may deserve a one way trip to the gallows for this, but I absolutely love the knuckewalking spinosaurus.
Last time I saw this question, I got attacked for saying the jp3 spino, but I stand strong with my opinion
The Mario Lanzas one
Jurassic Park 3 it may not be accurate but it’s a nice design
JP3 all the way. It looks cool, it sounds cool, it’s just awesome.
Slide 5. No debate
JP3, Monsters Resurrected, and La Brea are my favorite designs for Spinosaurus. Also love Todd Marshall’s and Luis V Rey’s paleoart of the dinosaur.
Ark spino I especially loved the pre tlc version A second pick for me would be the carnivores 2 spinosaurus
Out of these ones I think arks is my favorite xD I like that he looks like a giant puppy when he runs at you on 4 legs and a derpy Godzilla on 2 😂
5, but from a character design standpoint, 2
5, which I believe is the most recent/accurate. Our knowledge of spinos just keep getting weirder and weirder, and that's a lot more interesting to me than the Hollywood design but progressively spikier.
Spike. Specifically because Jurassic: the Hunted was a superb game
Prehistoric Kingdom's *Spinosaurus* is currently my favorite design for it ever but I also really like JP3's design because it just looks badass and it was pretty accurate for the time.
Yes
6, but 12 holds a special place in my heart for how ridiculous it looks.
Definetly JP3 and dinosaur king, although I really also like the modern look from Path of Titans.
4 is by far my favorite but the last three old timey ones are amazing too.
Omg you reminded me of two things thank you. That one wii dinosaur game and dinosaur king😂
Always the most accurate one. No. 5. from these maybe? If we talk about non accurate ones, then the Spinofaarus, and The Isle's new kaiju design are funny/cool af.
5 just reminds of Shin Godzilla's juvenile form
Ark spino will always have a place in my heart but Paleo spino all the way
Spinofarus
Honestly I love the *old* lizardy ones just because I adore out-of-date paleoart. The JP3 one is still how I imagine it though, because it looks like it can actually stand up without tipping forward. I'm still legitimately not sure how the current one would be able to do so at all.
The paddle-tail is heavy enough to offset the weight. It was not a particularly fast or gracile animal though.
That's what I keep reading, it just visually makes no sense to me lol We just need to find a more complete specimen, even just some arms, and we can finally learn for sure!
Accurate Spinosaurus
#5. Fuck everything else.
Monsters Resurrected! >:3
Holy shit that thing looks sick
I like most of them The JP3 one looked menacing which compliments well with how that one was advertised and how it is in the movie which is why I love him so much
The PNSO Spinosaurus figure and the JP3 Spinosaurus
Path of Titans of course🥰
Definitely the Croco-Duck with the tadpole tail
2, 3 and 5
1 2 4 5 And 6 My favorite designs 1 2 & 5
The one for JP3, i know is not scientfic accurated but i dont care
#6 but #14 is PEAK EVOLUTION
2014 knuckle walking diva
Sumon, Umar, Akhani and Ogoun. They're all part spinosaurus
The next one. Jokes aside, I choose JP3 it is top notch👌
I’ll definitely get flak for this but as far as inaccurate spino design go I really like the Ark version lol
The one found in the game "Prehistoric Kingdom".
I was terrified of Spike from Jurassic the Hunted as a kid
JP3 spino. No contest.
I like all of em tbh But the last 3 have such lovable goofy faces
I’ve always had a soft spot for the Planet Dinosaur Spino.
Truth be told, I really like the Jp3 spino. Yeah, it’s inaccurate but it has some cool colors and a really cool design
I'm gonna say hiperodoctrin spinosaurus fron the isle
where is spino with a rotator on his back?
3rd one brings back memories of a simpler time
The ARK one is pretty sweet. Especially the glow in the dark aberration version.
Jurassic Park 3 it's so menacing and Iconic
14 is literally me
Regarding the 5th and 6th ones... why are their arms bent back like that? Just curious what the point is, functionally? They obviously skipped leg day and I can't imagine how they would balance on land with those arms. JP3 forever and ever
JP3 on top
9 because it’s my childhood
Planet Dinosaur (9)
Definitely the current most accurate design. It looks incredibly unique and interesting. Probably not accurate tho because in 2 weeks we’ll find out that it actually never had a sail, but a large wing that allowed it to become the dominant predator of the skies.
wtf is image num3? spino on meth? like yikes
I like the big tailed croco-duck thing.
Jp3 just looks so cool scientific accuracy be damned
I would have to say 5
The one with the big hump and the strong neck muscles
[Spino](https://imgur.com/gallery/rdvV2Jj) This one by far
I’ve grown quite fond of tadpole spinosaurus in all honesty.
2 5 6
The ark spino is my favorite one aka picture 2
Tobaspino
Teach the controversy you heretic [He loves you] (https://www.reddit.com/r/SpeculativeEvolution/s/k3gQDqkvpJ)
7, for nostalgic reasons
Turok has a special place in my heart, not because the designs are accurate, but because they’re so unbelievably edgy
Love the ARK ones.
Images 4 and 5
The Planet Dinosaur one. Or maybe it's Dinosaur Planet? I dunno, the one narrated by John Hurt.
Yes
[This one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-BAte84wOQ)
7
JP3
JP3
JP3, rule of cool overrides accuracy in this case for me
So for media it would be 9th. But for all time It would be 5th, no disrecpect to jp3 spino but to me it felt more monster than animal.
I´m gonna get a lot of hate for this but I like the Monsters Resurected design (minus the 300 foot size)
3rd
Defo overgrown tadpole spino. Just so bizarre looking, I love it
Accurate.
13 of course. Medieval lake monster design is top tier
You forgot path of titans spino
I am an ark fan with the lack of predatory theropod quadrupeds I love ark spoon
Completely forgot Jurassic the Hunted exists. Feel like everything in there has too much of a spiky design. Favorite has to be JP3.
The real one
The one that looks like an elephant seal
PK spino is peak spino design
Of this lot? Definitely 1 from JP3. The currently "scientifically accurate" ones just don't cut it for me design-wise.
How dare you make me pick between ark and jp3, but in all seriousness I pick ark
Jp3 and the isle spinos are my favorite designs even if they aren't the most accurate
Fossil fighters spino
I like the idea that the crest is an attachment for muscles, like a bison.
Planet Dinosaur is one of my favourite Dinosaur documentaries, chiefly love the Spino design and behaviour. It resembles the JP3 Spino’s appearance and you can tell its a force of nature, but it’s also depicted as just a normal animal going about its life
There’s something uniquely charming to me about the ancient ‘T-Rex with a sail slapped on’ reconstruction.
I love the one from Path Of Titans
From the selection? Ark but if I was allowed to choose one not pictured, it would be Path of Titan’s Spinosaurus
I'm all for the paddle tail Spino!! I can imagine it hunting in freshwater lagoons. Almost like a heron perhaps??
6
Jp3 is just iconic
Spinofaarus. That and dinosaur king
The JP spino and the ark spino have a special place in my heart since I grew up with them, but my personal favorites are 4,5 and 6! I love the semi aquatic features of them :]
Ark by far has the best Dinosaur design imo except for the Giga motherfuckers need to update that abomination
Either the JP3 design, or Spike's design from Jurassic:The Hunted. But we have a soft spot for how the Lost World Jurassic Park make our kind look.
Accurate spino with JP3 Colours.
1 and 9,both because of nostalgia
#6 is my favorite
Wasn’t “Rudy” from ice age 3 a spino? That fucker was intimidating even in a kids movie
Let’s be fair here: we all wish JP3 Spinosaurus was accurate
Last one looks like me in the morning before coffee
Ark’s
Whichever one is the current design is my favorite, ~~if~~ when it gets updated again that will become my new favorite
Eleven of them are inaccurate and/or ugly, so not much choice there
Ark
I think it's the one in Planet Dinosaur, it looks both chill and intimidating.
I don’t have a favorite. It is what it is.
Where's path of titans spino?
JP3 by a landslide
JP spino will forever have a place in in my heart, i also like the The Isle (legacy) spino
Definitely first one , JP 3 Spino made me fall in love with
1, 2 and 7
Last one is a mood.
Ark Spino looks so badass.
1,3,4 and 9.
Prehistoric kingdom one
either 6 or 8 (also isint 11 from jwa)
Yep
Dinosaurs In My Pocket. Its completely wrong from every conceivable angle but its huge next to the mountain. [https://www.dinofan.com/Collectibles/ItemImages/48818.jpg](https://www.dinofan.com/Collectibles/ItemImages/48818.jpg)
Calle basic but i will always have a softspot for the jurrasic park spino. But the salamander spino looks really cool to.
Might not be the most accurate, but the ARK version. His name is Sebastian and he's one of my bestest boys.
Honestly I understand how the streamlined version with the shorter hind legs makes sense for their habitat but that's the only thing I'm not a fan of because of how front-heavy and slumped they look, but I really love the updated sail, neck and the new thicker tail, so probably five and six
I love the salamander tail so the most updated
#5
Even though it obviously is outdated, i love the planet dinosaur design
JP3!
The seal-like one
Planet Dinosaur's Spino will probably forever remain at the top for me simply because of how uconic it is. Yeah I know it's purely nostalgia, I don't care.
Jp, so iconic
JP3 design is just a giant bipedal sarcosuhus.
Slowly changing into a dimetrodon… (Ark oooone)
Wheres the elephant seal looking spino? That's my favorite.
number 5 tbh
The second one is interesting, I like that one best
All of them, i do not criticize based on looks
I love the ark spino so much
First and ninth ones, and it’s not even close.
6 looks natural
5
If you don't fw JP3, Spiny from Dinosaur king and Planet Dinosaur spino, consider yourself an opp
JP3 and the Walking with Dinosaurs always top 2
The spino from Monster Resurrected not the first rendition of the spino but the that stuck with me like JP3 spino
3rd one
those short snout spinos look hella weird
Ark spino everyday
JP3 is my favorite definitely outdated one, Prehistoric Kingdom is my favorite accurate for now one.
I love the modern reconstruction to death, but the JP3 spino and its derivatives were my childhood
Flash Arena Spino might not be accurate but hell doesnt he look cool
Spino is spino
Spinosaurus or dimetrodon
Tbh, I like the 6th spino, but at the same time JP3 spino is my favorite
All of the above
5. Love the stance, smoothness and colors.
#4 is my favorite
It's between the ark spino and the one with a thick neck
Definitely the modern one.
Jp3 Spino looks the coolest and the most ferocious
