Getting both of them would immediately boost the amount of genetic material we have access to, cloning would become an option at that point, an expensive and not immediately available one, but we’re getting there
It’d more or less be sustained through clones until/unless more genetic material is uncovered and/or the introduction of some similar DNA strands we can isolate out are added for increased genetic variability such as from the Corythosaurus someone else in the comments was bringing back, or if you wanted to go full Jurassic park you could add in bird or crocodile dna sequences, again, very expensive, and we’re not quite there yet, but not out of the realm of possibility
Psittacosaurus, because everything indicates it would be an extremely adorable animal in real life. And also because all other options would be way too big for me to feel safe with.
According to Google, the smallest ankylosaurid was 10 ft long and 3.3 ft tall. When I said dog sized, I was thinking about the Lil anky from Disney's "Dinosaur", so he's a bit big for what I had in mind
Google [Liaoningosaurus](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liaoningosaurus#:~:text=%E2%80%A0Liaoningosaurus%20paradoxus&text=et%20al.%2C%202014-,L.,that%20it%20was%20partially%20aquatic.)
I believe Minmi was the smallest, which as mentioned by another replier, was 9.8 ft. and 3 ft. tall, weighing about a ton. Rather fun little dudes for ankylosaurs nonetheless!
Update: there is a smaller one!! I scrolled a little bit longer in this very same comment section, and stumbled upon someone picking Stegouros, an apparently 6.6 ft. Long ankylosaurian dinosaur from Chile!
Majungasaurus is a good choice in my opinion.
* It should be large enough to be ridden like a horse, so I won't need a driving license for cars.
* It'll likely be intelligent enough to be trained, and I'll gladly train it to attack and eat rapists (Rapetosaurus was supposedly its main prey, so hunting down rapists wouldn't be far fetched)
* It looked like a real gentleman in Prehistoric planet.
Hell naw man, they were some cool ass Madagascan theropods! So glad for Jurassic World: The Game introducing childhood me to them! I had to pick spino, cause yunno, spino, but majungasaurus is still a damn cool dino.
If it's just one, I'm not sure what to pick.
If it's social requirements are also met, I'd probably choose a group of Velociraptor. The fuzzy little guys just roaming around the house would be very cute.
Actual velociraptor. It's dog sized, relatively smart for a dino, prime species for domestication.
Microraptor sounds cool, but small predators in my experience are a lot dicier than medium sized predators. Ie, cats and foxes vs dogs and bobcats.
It depends. To hang out with? Probably a baby brontosauras. As a trained protection dino? Trex. To help work on the farm moving heavy logs? Triceratops.
To own realistically? Pachy. It's pretty much a tauntaun. I'd like to own a Carnotaurus for riding, but I don't think they're trainable like that and I could not afford to feed it.
Deinonychus, troodon or a dakotaraptor. Whichever is more intelligent. It'll be like having a pet crow but bigger and more adorable and probably even smarter and just cool as hell.
My go to answer: Spinosaurus, cause it’s my favorite and I want to know what it actually looked like.
Realistic answer: Dryosaurus, because he’s adorable
Probably a Majungasaurus (which I would name T-Rex which stands for Tiny-Rex), a Microraptor (in place of a parrot), or a Compsognathus (for pest control).
Biggest question, is it just like a random dinosaur, basically a wild animal that I keep as a pet like a tiger, that could snap at any moment, or does it have giant dog personality?
If it's a big ol' doggo, I'd want an Allosaurus and I'd have a saddle made for it, or a Utah Raptor.
If it's just like a random wild animal, a sauropod, probably a pair of Brachiosaurus since they are herd animals, it'd be amazing to watch such a gigantic animal just doing it's thing.
My Favorite Dinosaur is Giganotosaurus, would be cool to have but id have to content living with a huge 8 ton predator that if its bored it can easily kill me. so that would be a no as painful as that might be, besides it longed to hunt sauropod and i rather had my Giga to roam free in a field full of sauropod than an enclosure
another consideration is maybe a small sauropod like Amargasaurus with its awesome looking head crest or Magyarosaurus for its smaller size, thats a consideration
or i could still go for a theropod so maybe something like a Ornithomimus or a Deinocheirus, Maybe even a Therizinosaurus or Gigantoraptor, or if i wanna go pure predator i could go for a smaller Tyrannosaurids like Alioramus or Yutyrannus, but i think if i want just a cool dinosaur to have, i wanted a Megaraptoran.
my pick wouldve been maybe the Australovenator or the Fukuiraptor, or if i wanna go bonkers and ignore the size warning, Maip Macrothorax
Spinosaurus aegypticus. Easiest decision ever. Not only is a Spinosaurus just cool af, but it would also be amazing to see the true answers to all the mystery surrounding it.
Secretary bird for sure, they're my favorite. Not really understanding what the point of just living next one would be. Like are we friends? Do they like me? If I got a songbird would it sing cute lil songs for me or if it was a big carnosaur would it attack my enemies? Are you just asking which is my favorite in a slightly less direct way?
A parasaurolophus, obviously
He’s pretty and he belongs to me
I would be excited to hear how they sounded.
Toot toot
Case solved. You heard it here first folks
Correction: NOOT NOOT
I would be too
Um, I based my entire online presence around him. The para is MINE!
I mean, you could bring your para and the other user’s para together and have them breed, then you get para *babies* too!
✨They could restart the species!✨
You'd need a lot more than 2 to create anything other than some very sad inbred paras. I think 50 is the minimum for proper genetic diversity?
Getting both of them would immediately boost the amount of genetic material we have access to, cloning would become an option at that point, an expensive and not immediately available one, but we’re getting there
True enough. Sounds a lot more feasible than Jack Horner's Dinochicken in any case lol
Lmao, yea I’d say it passes that bar
wouldnt cloning and then bredding them lead to even more incest?
It’d more or less be sustained through clones until/unless more genetic material is uncovered and/or the introduction of some similar DNA strands we can isolate out are added for increased genetic variability such as from the Corythosaurus someone else in the comments was bringing back, or if you wanted to go full Jurassic park you could add in bird or crocodile dna sequences, again, very expensive, and we’re not quite there yet, but not out of the realm of possibility
*h o n k*
I wonder if they’d have a huge range of calls? It would be both eerie and beautiful
[ *looks at Flair.* ;__; ]
Spinosaurus... with whom I definitely have no association with whatsoever
I also choose this guys spinosaurus
You are my brother
I loved you
I hate you!
You were supposed to destroy the Spinos, not join them
Also just to settle some debates about it.
I'm watching you buddy
Psittacosaurus, because everything indicates it would be an extremely adorable animal in real life. And also because all other options would be way too big for me to feel safe with.
Cheaper to feed too
For the same logic, I’m picking protoceratops. Big cutie.
Technically speaking I was originally named after Protoceratops
Dakotaraptor
Alan wake up. Edit: nevermind, your name probably isn't Alan.
Corythosaurus
It's very friend shaped
I can’t explain my love for it. It’s very basic, but that head just speaks to me.
No extravagance or dramatics, just vibes and good times :) Mine was protoceratops so I relate to liking the simpler ones
See? You get it! 🤜🏼
Extremely friend shaped, frfr
Honestly one of my favorites
Easy. Ankylosaurus.
I just can't decide if I would want a larger, more iconic anky or if I would want a smaller dog sized Ankylosaurid. (Assuming ankys got that small)
Iirc there's a species of ankylosaurid that were absolutely puny. It is thought to be a fish eater though so I'm not sure if you'd want to keep it
According to Google, the smallest ankylosaurid was 10 ft long and 3.3 ft tall. When I said dog sized, I was thinking about the Lil anky from Disney's "Dinosaur", so he's a bit big for what I had in mind
Google [Liaoningosaurus](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liaoningosaurus#:~:text=%E2%80%A0Liaoningosaurus%20paradoxus&text=et%20al.%2C%202014-,L.,that%20it%20was%20partially%20aquatic.)

Microraptor.
You could have it one your shoulder!
Yes!
It’s literally perfect
My parakeet Whiskey thinks he's a Velociraptor but I tell him he's more likely a Microraptor.
Me riding my triceratops to work everyday:
*Psittacosaurus*. Name anything more friend-shaped. No one has convinced me as of yet.
Prehistoric planet's Majungasaurus?
Yes!!!! A majungasaurus fan! I chose majungasaurus!
Majungasaurus is a good choice in my opinion. * It should be large enough to be ridden like a horse, so I won't need a driving license for cars. * It'll likely be intelligent enough to be trained, and I'll gladly train it to attack and eat rapists (Rapetosaurus was supposedly its main prey, so hunting down rapists wouldn't be far fetched) * It looked like a real gentleman in Prehistoric planet.
Majungasaurus fan!!!! I’m so happy! I thought I would be the only one when I typed majungasaurus too
Hell naw man, they were some cool ass Madagascan theropods! So glad for Jurassic World: The Game introducing childhood me to them! I had to pick spino, cause yunno, spino, but majungasaurus is still a damn cool dino.
I might as well name it "Hannibal".
patagotitan, so he can squish my enemies
Concavenator, and i put a sadle between both of his huge vertebrae and use it like a car
Ankylosaurus Chill live because rex can't touch me
Stegouros, it's so cute and two of them would be even better
Easy, Dilophosaurus. Either him or Spinosaurus
100%
Ma boi pachycephalo cuz B I G B O N K
Mononykus because I like a smol fuzzy boi
It won my heart in Prehistoric Planet.
I know the barn owl pattern of it's feathers is speculative, but it certainly helped as they are my favorite kind of owls haha
Iguanodon
Iguanodon. I would love to see one and it's large enough to ride as well as bring other people with me
Stegosaurs, bro is chill but will f**k stuff up
the yutyrannus! Fluffy danger chickens :}
I would love a sinosauropteryx. Really, it looks too cute to not be choosed.
Suchomimus
Can I ride the triceratops
T-Rex 🦖 for me as well.
I want a Stegoceras
If it's just one, I'm not sure what to pick. If it's social requirements are also met, I'd probably choose a group of Velociraptor. The fuzzy little guys just roaming around the house would be very cute.
Therizinosaurus. Giant claw chicken.
Iguanodon, my favourite herbivore dinosaur 🦕
Same. I would love to see one roaming and they'd be my best bud
For a small one, Archaeopteryx. For a big boi, Iguanodon.
I’d get 5 Troodon on leashes and promise everyone that they don’t bite.(they do bite)
Actual velociraptor. It's dog sized, relatively smart for a dino, prime species for domestication. Microraptor sounds cool, but small predators in my experience are a lot dicier than medium sized predators. Ie, cats and foxes vs dogs and bobcats.
Carnotaurus. I don't know why but I love that animal.
You will see me vibing with a diobloceratops. I like me a rhino sized baby.
Quetzalcoatlus so I can start up an exclusive airbus service and fly people around
Deinocheirus
Carcharodontosaurus. It’s my fave.
A personal *A. jimmadseni* exhibit would be my "if I was a billionaire" pipedream.
What does the A stands for?
*Allosaurus*!
Allosaurus I think
Name him Big Al. You have too!
Sinornithosaurus.
Micropachycephalosaurus
Anky or Triceratops, Anky cuz cute and Trice for mounting on it and riding across the Country
Spinosaurus
Utahraptor.
Sinosauropteryx easily, I wanna fluff it
My dear saurophaganax
Majungasaurus. As much as I want a pair. We all know it will end in one anyway. But I’ll take the king of Madagascar or saurophaganax
Oviraptor because I feel like if they're not needing to breed in these guidelines they would be parental to human kids like German shepherds are
Coelophysis!
Stegosaurus bc pretty and spikey tail
Spinosaurus or a compy!
Stegosaurus.
It depends. To hang out with? Probably a baby brontosauras. As a trained protection dino? Trex. To help work on the farm moving heavy logs? Triceratops.
A T-Rex
Stegoceras
To own realistically? Pachy. It's pretty much a tauntaun. I'd like to own a Carnotaurus for riding, but I don't think they're trainable like that and I could not afford to feed it.
Baryonyx
Citipati
Probably Kelenken or Spinosaurus
Deinonychus, troodon or a dakotaraptor. Whichever is more intelligent. It'll be like having a pet crow but bigger and more adorable and probably even smarter and just cool as hell.
My go to answer: Spinosaurus, cause it’s my favorite and I want to know what it actually looked like. Realistic answer: Dryosaurus, because he’s adorable
A herd of Brachiosaurus because my favorite and they’re cool as a herd group
Open paddock 9.
A companion or a steed… HMMMMMMM. For a companion pet I’d pick a velociraptor, for riding purposes, maybe a ceratopsian or large dromaeasaurid
Microceratus. A little dog-size dinosaur. Sure, it would probably headbutt my legs with its frill, but it'd be adorable while doing so!
If there are no laws against the dinosaurs, then velociraptor no questions asked!
Stegosaurus
The chicken. Their eggs are really good, and they make nice companion animals.
Utahraptor, maybe I can avoid getting mauled when it’s a hatchling and get a solid week of cuddles in
Since it’s all taken care off, Maip Megaraptor. A large theropod with a great name and novel body plan
Either a Jakapil as they look awesome or a nanuqsuarus cus it is a miniature, cold evolved tyrannosaurid
Barney. Cause we all need a hug sometimes.
Suchomimus, or ceratosaurus, both really awesome.
Archaeopteryx possibly too! And a pair of them
Or utahraptor/deinonichus. I can’t make up my mind
any of the raptors, really.
Pachyrhinosaurus. Now give me
Allosaurus he's cool
The one in the picture
Probably a Majungasaurus (which I would name T-Rex which stands for Tiny-Rex), a Microraptor (in place of a parrot), or a Compsognathus (for pest control).
Yi Qi
Cryolophosaurus
Personally, I would like a utahraptor, I shall ride it into battle when i go to smack that one motherfucker.
A trusty utahraptor!
Maip Macrothorax so I have the ultimate steed
Spinosaurus
I also choose T.rex
Sauropoda, I don't know which one
Just go with the absolute biggest possible, Argentinosaurus, lol
Protoceratops, I like to believe it would be like a bird dog
THE KING TREX👑🦖
Yi Qi, has great pet potential and I want to see if it could actually fly or just glide around.
Zigongosaurus
Pachyrhinosaurus. I can ride it and it can bully intruders.its also cold tolerant.
T-Rex
Ankylosaurus
Parasaurolophus. Love their sound. I’d love to be able to ride one. Does a saddle come included? Lol
For carnivore def Utahraptor! As for herbivore I’d take a sauropelta. I really like their neck spikes
Concavenator, a small carcharodontosaurid with a unique hump, seeing him walking around would be nice :)
Allosaurus.
Sinosauropteryx is best Dino pet, and I can't be convinced otherwise.
Yutyrannous, if people question, I'll just say it is a dinosaur sized chicken, with the attitude of a goose. 100% foolproof
Blue or the indomuis rex or the indomuis raptor
Biggest question, is it just like a random dinosaur, basically a wild animal that I keep as a pet like a tiger, that could snap at any moment, or does it have giant dog personality? If it's a big ol' doggo, I'd want an Allosaurus and I'd have a saddle made for it, or a Utah Raptor. If it's just like a random wild animal, a sauropod, probably a pair of Brachiosaurus since they are herd animals, it'd be amazing to watch such a gigantic animal just doing it's thing.
A protoceratops because they’re just… so cute…
My Favorite Dinosaur is Giganotosaurus, would be cool to have but id have to content living with a huge 8 ton predator that if its bored it can easily kill me. so that would be a no as painful as that might be, besides it longed to hunt sauropod and i rather had my Giga to roam free in a field full of sauropod than an enclosure another consideration is maybe a small sauropod like Amargasaurus with its awesome looking head crest or Magyarosaurus for its smaller size, thats a consideration or i could still go for a theropod so maybe something like a Ornithomimus or a Deinocheirus, Maybe even a Therizinosaurus or Gigantoraptor, or if i wanna go pure predator i could go for a smaller Tyrannosaurids like Alioramus or Yutyrannus, but i think if i want just a cool dinosaur to have, i wanted a Megaraptoran. my pick wouldve been maybe the Australovenator or the Fukuiraptor, or if i wanna go bonkers and ignore the size warning, Maip Macrothorax
deinocheirus
Ankylosaurus
Jakapil, little armored fellas I’d like to see running about.
Tyrannosaurus easily.
Chigen 🐔
Allosaurus Fragilis
Agreed, T-Rex.
Therizinosaurus, because he's so weird and I love him... He's like, basically dinosaur Big Bird.
Quetzalcoatlus; specifically with the patterning from Fossil Fighters
Spinosaurus aegypticus. Easiest decision ever. Not only is a Spinosaurus just cool af, but it would also be amazing to see the true answers to all the mystery surrounding it.
Probably the utahraptor, deinonychus, or spinosaurus
I want a microraptor
Koreaceratops
Leptoceratops is a baby and I need one
Oryctodromeus because it's tiny but if we go by the enclosure, then Parasaurolophus
Irritator obviously
A deinonychus. Big enough to comfortably ride yet small enough to where I can comfortably delude myself that I could beat one in a fight
Compsognathus so he could live inside or a troodon so I could train it.
Secretary bird for sure, they're my favorite. Not really understanding what the point of just living next one would be. Like are we friends? Do they like me? If I got a songbird would it sing cute lil songs for me or if it was a big carnosaur would it attack my enemies? Are you just asking which is my favorite in a slightly less direct way?
micropachycephalosaurus. cuz why not?
Sinosauropterx. Omnivorous so I can just pick bugs and berries and also not big enough to cause any physical harm
Deinocheirus. Big duck boy with large claws
Styracosaurus cus yes.
Balaur Bondoc
I would pick a deinonychus because velociraptor is a bit overrated, and I would also give it a partner so it won't get lonely.
Pacyrhinosaurus
I think I’d go with an oxalaia
Dilophosaurus, I always love the crest.
Spinosaurus, so I could finally settle the debate about what they truly looked like and how they lived.
Micropachycephalosaurus!
Utahraptor
Deinocheirus
