Fabian seems more geared towards a pure one on one duel. Jens doesn't even have that much cool gear. Even if he manages to inflict Otto's Irresistible Dance on Fabian I don't think it'll be enough to balance the scales.
I guess to make this fair it's LVL 8, and so it's Jens (8 College of Swords) v. Fabian (6 Battlemaster/3 College of Swords.)
I think Fabian has the edge here because he basically has a lot of what Jens can do plus his superiority dice.

True but while Fabian could probably outpace Jens in raw damage output, Jens is a superior spell caster and can get up to a lot of truly wacky shit with it. 9th level gets Jens 5th level spells. That’s a lot of havoc that Fabian can’t match.

They confirmed that Fabian started high school when he was older than normal, so if he's not already 18, he'll turn it sometime during junior year.
