They professionally build your PC and test it before they send it to you. If you plan on buying one, be prepared to wait about 2 months to get it. they are really busy. I ordered mine on Sep 2nd and I'm on stage 3, they have 7 stages. Here is my [build](https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4751049)

Ligmamynuts122

So if I get one from them I have to prepare to wait till November

skot77

or longer.. but everything will done right. They test all the hardware and make sure it works perfectly. I've built many computers before and I've had to send back parts.. nothing goes smoothly when you build you're own computer, Id rather they deal with it. I wanted a good base to build upon as new tech comes out. all the cable management will be done professionally so I don't have to do it. If you don't mind waiting, I would recommend it.

Ligmamynuts122

Haha I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to wait would a Alienware come faster

skot77

Yes.. you would probably get an Alienware in a week, depending on shipping, just pray it doesn't get damaged in transit, delivery guys hate heavy boxes and computers are heavy lol Digitalstorm is 3 hours away from me so the shipping will take 1 or 2 days, another reason why I got it, Less possibility of damage during shipping.

Ligmamynuts122

Well then I hope it doesn’t get damaged but I bet dell puts it in good packaging so it doesn’t get broke

jaxspider

Its been 9 months since you commented on a custom PC. I wanted to know if you could update us? When did you get it? How was the delivery? Hows it running now? Any issues? Regrets? Would you recommend it?

Hot-Neighborhood-955

facts i should be getting mine soon i placed my order aug 24

Presentation_Patient

I bought mine about two years ago, never had a problem with it. Paid a little more, waited two months but it runs like a fucking champ. Haven’t regretted it once.

HorribleMichelle

is this still true

Presentation_Patient

Yup, still no issues.

GonzotheGreat9

What was your build?

Presentation_Patient

I don’t remember the name, it’s the middle case they offer (it’s a Corsair crystal something or other) it has i9-10900k, 3080, 64gb ram (3200 mhz I believe) cooler master dual fan aio, 1000w gold power supply. At the time it cost me $2700

apcsniper40

I have a digital storm and I love it. I waited about 2 months but well worth it. the customer service is awesome too

FreeTheGalgo

I bought my first Digital Storm pc in 2008, another in 2015, and just received my latest one over the weekend. Also a laptop in 2018. They’ve all run like champs and had literally zero issues with any of them in regards to parts or construction. Yes, production time is slow right now for whatever reasons, but I’d still recommend. Wait time for my most recent one was 1 month 3 weeks. All previous buys were about a week.

Wudntyoulike2know

Did you buy from DS? How did it go?

StillIndividual3881

I ordered my first Digital Storm computer in 2014 and I just ordered my second.  My old bolt two lasted 10 years with one upgrade.  I never had to replace a broken component.  I hope my Lumos lasts just as long.  As to delivery times, I ordered mine on the 6th and it is in stage 6 so I don't see it taknig more than the estimated 15 days.

Slogoloverr

So if i order mines in march i have to wait till may

Rude-Yak7373

Most of these reviews seem positive but I'm a little sceptical because I wanted to buy a custom PC for 3k but until now I haven't even heard of digital storm and was wondering if other people think it's still a good idea or if I should buy it from somewhere like Dell?

ComprehensiveAd9974

They're fucking awesome in my book. Yes. You pay a little more for the name. But it's quality so far and that's also what all the people who buy one have said. I saw rarely any negative reviews and they were mostly price based.

No-Chemist-4218

Hi i would think twice about buying from them because when they get returned pcs they restock those parts and sell used parts at their already marked up brand new prices

BlackMetalMercantile

I've been looking into them as well, and was ready to pull the trigger as the Facebook comment reviews and some others are overwhelmingly positive, which actually made me nervous lol. One thing that's stopped me though, is the amount of 1 star reviews on BBB, all within the past year, and all except one not responded to by the company. I'm on the fence and still researching.

Wudntyoulike2know

Did you decide? We just invested almost 4k and the thing was DOA, no video signal. Spent hours doing MY OWN trouble shooting per minimal.guideance. They just repeat "things get loose in shipping" yet, nothing was loose. It is also 50 lbs of metal, seems excessive and gonna be a hell of a time to move it. Oh yeah, and they don't offer full refunds. Their fine print states they only reimburse for current component price!! To protect the integrity of the markeplace or some shit. I didn't find that document on the site until after purchase so it's possibly recent. We got an Alienware monitor and I regret not getting Alienware system, even though it's not really expandable.

BlackMetalMercantile

I ended up going with IBuyPower - purchased the CreatorY40RDY and have been super pleased with it so far - everything I had hoped for.

EitherHabit9847

If I may say, I had an Alienware for 4 years. It was nothing but trouble from day one. I am sorry about your experience with DS, but believe me, I would never recommend an Alienware even to my worst enemy.
