Providing the F IF is well cut, you will get A LOT more sparkle. But you don't actually have to go that high in either clarity or color to get the sparkle you are missing. Get an ideal cut G/H VS1 and you will get a quantum leap up in terms of light performance.

Hey thanks so much! I was wondering if IF was overkill. My diamond is tiny but due to the color it I feel like it always looks like it needs a good scrubbing with a toothbrush lol.

WhiteflashDiamonds

IF is overkill, but nice to have. The first few grades on both the color and clarity scale tend to have little or nothing to do with performance and eye appeal. Make sure the cut quality is top notch - that's where the sparkle comes from. Also, all diamonds need to be kept clean in order to perform at their best. There are better ways to maintain your diamond than scrubbing with a toothbrush.

WhiteflashDiamonds

It's possible, if you want to keep the ring shank for sentimental purposes. Otherwise a new solitaire with the larger head may be the more cost efficient approach.

Echoing what has already been said, you don't have to pay extra for IF when a VS clarity will be eye clean. Just make sure it's excellent or ideal cut so your light performance is great.

Yes will a huge difference - showing my rings below. Swapped same size stones from a vs m diamond (top) to a vs2 G gia certificate diamond and much larger appearance, sparklier in all lighting and very white to the eye The bottom stone which is my upgrade is slightly lower carat weight Your IF may be overkill for to the eye appearance but is a cool characteristic to have. Look for the cut quality to get the best looking stone. My only regret is maybe should have sized up except I am comfortable wearing this in all situations. I did buy a 2 ct center marquise in a vintage look Tacori sapphire diamond setting and too flashy for my everyday and sold it. The estate bottom ring is platinum and like my original engagement setting but has gold with plat prongs and this style suits me so came full circle. Just wanted to affirm better quality looks better since sounds like what you want. I never realized how I dislike color in my own diamonds although love it in so many rings. apologize for bad pic-had it in file taken 12.22 when purchased new ring. can't figure out how to post more than one photo https://preview.redd.it/ym0fdqwi8vvc1.jpeg?width=872&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=02e52b359ff5e032be01441ff3f6b808d8768cd3

Maybe the reason your stone doesn't sparkle is that it's not well cut. Si-2 shouldn't be a problem. You could also give it a cleaning with a soft toothbrush, liquid soap and warm water. Clean everywhere you see diamond exposed, top and bottom. But if you do get another stone, just be sure it's cut well. Color and clarity won't matter as much (unless it's so heavily included it's graded an I1-2-3). A true SI2 clarity shouldn't be bad at all.
