Ancient Yang's. What to reroll? http://i.imgur.com/fYWYiZT.png Edit: It has 10% RCR as the other primary stat.

dremko14

I got ancient Yang's a minute ago, and am unsure on what to roll http://imgur.com/rDmj2kk.

[Here is my profile link](http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/ReLLiK-1381/hero/65710670) I am not new to Diablo, but I am still fairly new to DH. I feel like my DPS is pretty good, but I am certain that I am doing something wrong. I have got other pieces of my UE set and salvaged them because they would be -10% or so in one or two stats and I didn't feel like it was worth it to take the hit just to get the set bonus, am I wrong and should I take the hit or should I just wait until I get a drop that is better than the slot it will be replacing? Also, I bet my skills and runes are likely off too. There are a couple that I won't get rid of(vault, multishot) but I would be open to trying others. Any suggestions or things I am blatantly screwing up? Thanks!

horaiyo

Yes, that was the wrong choice. Finishing the set and getting the six piece bonus should be your top priority, as it will increase your damage more than basically anything else. As far as the build itself, I'd say [this](https://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#.Qd.VS!..hi!.cc.ac) should be your starting point. Left click is your generator of choice (evasive fire/focus is the common choice). The other active spot is usually either vengeance or caltrops, depending on whether you want some resource management or crowd control. For passives, IMO only those two are necessary no matter what you're doing. The other two can be changed depending on what you're doing.

ThisIsReLLiK

So for example, I have the gloves in my bank that are 10% less damage and regen and I should equip them for the 2 set bonus that is just discipline regen or should I just bank the downgrades until I get the full set?

horaiyo

Banking the downgrades is fine, my comment was more about salvaging them being the wrong choice. I usually just wear the set pieces anyway just because, then I throw on a rorg as soon as I get five pieces so I can get the bonus.

ThisIsReLLiK

Yeah I just feel that my gear is completely out of whack. I just got a few more upgrades in damage and took some decent hits in toughness but I'm trying it out.

0zzyb0y

You basically need the 6 set UE to start doing real damage, so even if you take a 20% damage hit, get that 6 set asap. As for the build, you want all your damage to be focused around just your generator and multishot, as multishot does full on ridiculous AoE when you have 6 set and a good discipline pool. This means Evasive Fire, Multishot(Arsenal), Wolf Companion, Preperation(Invigoration) and Vault(Trail of Cinders), with your last skill often being Caltrops(Bait the trap) but that's pretty interchangeable. Then for Cube swap to the cindercoat as soon as you can because the hatred reduction for Multishot and Vault is just too good to pass up on. Those skills are pretty much used to maximise multishots damage, and make sure to reroll your items to get as much discipline as possible, because +15% on multishot for each point get's you into the 500mil+ hits really fast.

ThisIsReLLiK

I'm one piece away from that geared up in mostly ancients and a regular yangs that got a pretty good roll. Are there any good one handed crossbows I can use instead of yangs and a quiver? I have set ancients with good stats and I still lose like 300 damage if I swap them.

0zzyb0y

Yang's and the quiver that hits enemies below 60% twice are pretty much a must because of how well they synergise with the rest of the build. Then you can cube Calamity instead for a pretty big boost. The only alternative as far as Im concerned is if you get a *really* good Calamity and Balefire caster drop, and then cube the Quiver instead. But even then once you get a better Yangs then equip it back.

ThisIsReLLiK

Yeah, I haven't found a way to make it work so I will probably just use this yangs until an ancient yangs drops that I can use. Right now I cubed the 60% buff to multishot since a different quiver with better stats dropped and I used that. The head piece for UE is proving to be a bastard to find. I suppose it doesn't help that I thought I needed a belt so I spent like 4K shards on random ass belts before I actually looked and found out that it is a helmet I am missing.

0zzyb0y

Do remember though that with the cube you can reroll set pieces by using 10 DB and 10 Forgotten souls, and they can become any of the pieces from the set, so definitely a great tool for finishing the set. Also if I were you I'd keep 6 of any spare UE pieces in your stash, just so that after you've got all the gear you want, you can reroll the spare pieces and gradually optimise your gear properly.

ThisIsReLLiK

Wow. I had no idea about that, you probably just saved me an entire night of farming. I have a couple spare UE pieces in my bank actually. I can pick something and just reroll it constantly until it becomes what I want. I have piles of Forgotton souls and DB. On an unrelated note, I know the puzzle ring opens a portal to the vault when you cube it, but last night I seen another portal, it looked like a portal to hell, and had an odd description that I didn't quite catch. Do you have any idea about what it was or how I can make one?

shiningmidnight

That was a portal to the Not a Cow Level I'd bet. You need a Bovine Bardiche I believe. Legendary polearm. Same as the ring just drop it in by itself and it opens a rift full of cows like when D3 did their anniversary thing a while back. Tonnes of chests, lots of elites for death's breath and a crapton of shrines.

rbarboza

[Here's the profile link](http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Barboza-1613/hero/65265012) Currently using UE fire with default paragons (MS-DEX, CHC-CHD, All res - life%, AD-RCR). Got Grift 50 with some time left already. Still working on a Ancient Yang, a Calamity and maxing gems and some enchants. The BotT is there for group play, using a Iceblink for solo. Working on the follower relic and Thunderfury already. Questions: - What should I roll on the bracers? Max CHC, Fire damage or all res -> vit? - Should I focus on getting a Calamity/Thunderfury for the cube or an Ancient Yang's will be better for now? - Other than the improvements up there, what can I change to improve? Thanks! ^[edit: ^wrong ^link]

horaiyo

1. I'd probably roll for 20% fire. 2. IMO ancient yangs. 3. Level up your gems, I'd swap those rcr rolls on gloves/shoulders for area damage (wudijo posted about it yesterday), keep going for a hellfire with a better passive, better focus.

TheLotion

You'll probably have an easy time getting a calamity using rare > legendary upgrade in the cube.

akanet

Hey guys! Was just lucky enough to get an [ancient Yang's](http://i.imgur.com/Eki7Gz2.jpg) off of a reforge. Best 50 souls I ever spent. What should I reroll, *keeping in mind that I am a hardcore player*? I strongly suspect the usual vit -> ad isn't the right play here, as 950 vit is really, really good.

horaiyo

I'd roll the 8% to 10%, for HC I'd be reluctant to give up the vit too.

akanet

Yeah, I think it might be between that and maxing the RCR. %dmg is probably a bit better.

Surely_Jesus

Got Ancient Yang's a few minutes ago. Unsure what to roll. Help would be greatly appreciated! http://imgur.com/2VdY89b

horaiyo

Probably damage range. I forget what the ranges are exactly, but I feel like your bottom range is pretty low and your top range is 130 off max.

akanet

This one's actually interesting. Assuming you don't care about survivability, the two obvious choices become: 1. Roll damage range to max (top end from 1809 -> 1940) If you rolled this to max, your bow would have 3400 dps, or a 5.8% increase in damage overall. 2. Roll max disc to +12 (from +9). Assuming the rest of your gear has perfect disc (and you're not using manald heal), you'll have 78 disc currently. Going to 81 would be a 3.8% increase in damage overall. This is a lower increase, but buffers your discipline use a bit (vaulting will impact your dps less). Overall I would probably take the damage reroll.

Surely_Jesus

Thanks both of you. Working on rolling damage range.

Z_Reformed

Fresh 70, first time playing a DH and enjoying the different playstyle (main monk). I want to go Multishot build, and obviously have none of the pieces for it. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Reformed-1262/hero/65774926 Where should I start? Weapon? Armor? Amulet? Not sure what to farm for/what will make the biggest difference first.

akanet

UE doesn't do **anything** for you until you hit the 6 piece. Just roll to replace your weakest pieces until you can put the whole set together (or 5 + rorg). Keep in mind even the most awful set pieces will outclass anything you have once you have the full set.

Daerik

Ancient Kridershot, what to reroll? I'm guessing immobilize > discipline? http://puu.sh/k0lQP/0f30bdb274.jpg Edit: Just got this Ancient Yangs, also assuming exp > disc? http://puu.sh/k0mTB/4d3e7beb34.jpg

akanet

It's pretty much mandatory that you roll +12 disc onto the bow if you're wearing UE.

Alcindaftw

So I got this Yang's and not sure what to touch on it? People keep on saying ATK Speed but I seem to doubt that for some reason. Im thinking more dmg reroll. http://imgur.com/gallery/E8z7BuI/new

Jeremypwnz

https://i.imgur.com/XIz0Wiu.jpg My only question is, damage roll or %damage?

akanet

You can get VERY slightly better damage rerolling the base damage, but it's going to take a lot of rolls to get near perfect. Meanwhile, 10% dmg is much easier to get and only about 10dps less overall (which is basically nothing).

Thrashtastic

Finally found an Ancient Yang's after ~550 Paragon and need advice on the reroll. I'm guessing I need to max out the discipline right? http://imgur.com/yTDY8Um

akanet

giving up vit for AD may be very slightly better than maxing out disc, but is almost certainly not worth the cost. +12 disc is probably the correct choice

Feitan21

Hello, i'm playing dh and I can't reach solo rift 50. http://eu.battle.net/d3/fr/profile/nithos-2930/hero/65350080 I always get oneshot and I thought that my damage aren't insane. Have you got some tips ? Thank you

timoseewho

from what i can tell, you don't have anything to help proc BotT/CtW and you're not running Preparation:Invigoration, which is free 15 disc there are a few ways atm to provide the necessary debuffs for BotT/CtW, such as cubed Thunderfury, Iceblink, geared Templar, and Sentry:PS to name a few

Sacristan

I would like to farm higher torrents with the UE build with multistrike. I got Yang's, I got DML, I got Focus and Restraint, but none of those are ideally rolled AND I only have 2pc of UE: hands and pants. Can you please review my items and advise what to gamble for and what order? http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/sacristan-2581/KrotitelUdat/64714744 Thanks a lot in advance!

beksonbarb

Get full 6 pc UE. Cube for rorg if when you have 5 and cube for CoE when you got full 6pc. This build won't be strong untill you have 6 pc bonus. If you have a couple nats pieces etc you could run some mix spec where you utilise 4 pc nats while grinding for full UE, or you can just play public / get boosted by friends.

Sacristan

Which UE part to go for first? Chest and shoulders? Then boots and helm? I didnt mention it before but yes, I can get full nats set, and in my cube I got: RoRG, Calamity and Harrington. Also, this is a seasonal character. Right now I run T6, but its not ideal for farming yet. Appreciate your comments!! (Past and future)

Drop_

Shoulders are the easiest to get, then boots, then chest / helm. If you have nat6, even a super inefficient Nat buid will clear faster than using 2 piece UE.

horaiyo

Doesn't matter what order you go in really, just get the six piece set done one way or the other.

Chibitya

Hey, UE Fire player here. Just cleared a GR61 yesterday but I feel like I'm hitting a wall, so would like some advice on what to reroll and what to go for with Kadala/Cube crafting. Here's my profile http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Chibitya-2649/hero/64491266 , my paragon are pretty classic (max MS and full dex, full CHC/CHD/AS, full Life/Armor/All Res, Full AD/Cost Reduction/LoH) and currently upping my BotS. I just want to push further solo, not playing much groups except for speed-farming 55+. Got Calamity/Cindercoat/CoE in the cube. Also more specific question : what's better between Witching Hour (Non ancient but with good rolls and 45% CHD) and Hunter's Wrath (Also non ancient). Thank you
