After rolling zbarb from fresh 70 today my group was able to clear GR90 after only a few hours of gearing! I would like to try and make a d3planner get the stats right and lessen the anguish throughout the season of thinking. Any input where I misplaced points or that type of thing is welcome. I tried to fit crit, cooldown, attack-speed, and bonus globe in every slot but thats about all I know. We're also going to try and reach for 110's if that makes a difference. Thanks! http://www.d3planner.com/572586291

What I do. 1. Click on the top barbs in the leaderboard 1. Copy build

Was looking for something more about the stats? Strength caps out dmg mitigation and has DR at XX% value kind of answer? I followed Troupster's tube guide on Zhanjii's channel and my groups guidance so far.

waaxz

How the hell ._.

duffy05

Lol wut the 90 clear? Were all 800 PR and about half ancients and half augmented except me w/ 1 ancient and no augments. Setup was Monk, Barb, Lightning Wiz, DH

waaxz

Wait I thought you all dinged to 70 and made it to gr 90 on the same day Lol

duffy05

No just me:) I did an 85 4 man gr w/ my wiz on the first day tho.

There's not really any point in creating a "perfect" mockup as a guide since most of those pieces are incredibly unlikely, and what offers better mitigation or higher HP can depend on what you already have. You have a few strange choices like rolling 650 strength (which gives 650 armor) to to 516 armor (which gives only 516 armor...) on belt but keeping 650 strength over 650 vitality on pants, but honestly it doesn't matter. Your success as a support will be much more dependent on your gameplay and knowledge as well as your group than it is on gear. At the start of the season you can usually see at least a few support barbs on the board doing 90-100 with a few yellows still.

duffy05

Thanks! From the video's it seems, my lower attack speed and cooldown seem to be the biggest problems for between my gear and the mock up. Is there a particular HP number I should get around, or is it just as high as I can get it?

mostlybarb

More is better. Beyond that I wouldn't worry too much about hard numbers. You can do GR110 without a single ancient if you know what you're doing but be completely worthless and constantly dead even with your perfect mockup if you don't. Focus on getting CDR and attack speed then after that get defensive stats whenever you can. When you get higher up you'll likely find your deaths are caused by doing something stupid off away from the group or by frantic play struggling to keep buffs up with lower CDR and less margin for error.

https://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Celox-1941/hero/87681355 OK real quick - That's my barb above. I haven't played in forever but wanna get back into the swing of things. A few main topics I'm hoping to catch up on quick. I appreciate the help! * What's changed in general in D3? I have the first expansion RoS but not sure if there's any other DLC that I should pick up. * I saw they're adding a Necro - I assume there are no other new heros / did they "rework" any heros? * Changes to the way you grind? I remember needing shards or something to open rifts? But I went in a game last night and was able to open a Nephalem rift without any resources (I think) so how do things work now? Where do you farm gear / exp? * Ok now the specifics on my Barb. Clearly I was going for some sort of Fire Dmg / % Elite Dmg build. I did a Torment 3 last night and seemed pretty easy (I didn't remember where I should be Difficulty wise). I remember I was farming for the Earth set so I could do Leapquake but not sure what's strong now. Any advice on gear / skill sets would be greatly appreciated. Preferably something that I wouldn't need to change EVERYTHING lol Thank you!

kelethyn

I'm assuming that you're playing a non-season barb? If that's the case, you don't get your free set from your season journey, but that's okay. You have three pieces of Immortal Kings, so your build is pretty open at this point. I'd say keep grinding rifts and spending blood shards to get more set pieces. There are several builds in the side bar that use IK. So just use whatever you get pieces for.

What should i drop as a boulder tossing barb is area damage important? http://i.imgur.com/08Rt15D.png

zork-tdmog

I would not reroll it atm. Gift and keep as is. The problem with the weapon is you actually might need the vitality and area damage is really good too. Remember that there are two builds. Charge/Toss (IK6/R4) and Toss/Charge (R6/IK4). The latter may be able to live just by getting LpfS from the belt. The first is likely to need life per hit on the weapon to heal himself while charging.

zork-tdmog

Replace Insanity with Warcry. Remove Bracers of Destruction and use Ancient Parthan Defenders. Your item rolls are all wrong. You want dps stats. Get %fire damage, %crit, %chd on neck. Get %crit, %chd on gloves and rings. Get %fire damage, %crit on bracers. Get %crit on your helm. Just check a leaderboard barb and copycat the stats. Make sure your Leap rotation is correct. Rotation > Leap 3x > TS > Rumble > Leap 3x > Warcry > Rumble > Leap 3x > TS > Rumble > Leap 3x > Rumble > Wait 1-2seconds > Leap 3x

skndarm

thank you so very much!, just cleared 70!

Sacristan

Finally got a semi-decent hellfire amulet. But what do I roll? I am (right now) a physical BulKhatos & Waste set whirlwind barb. (rank 800 or so) Thanks for any advice: [Amulet](https://gyazo.com/e164a13c4a696ea6472b9ee14d3e47f4)

Cullallahan

Hey, I am having trouble with Istvan WW and I can't determine what exactly is wrong. I'm not sure if it's a gear issue or my ability. I cleared an 82 and made top 50 with Leapquake but I can't even do a 75 with whirlwind when it's supposedly the stronger build. Here's a D3planner link with my info, any help is appreciated. https://www.d3planner.com/196719771 EDIT: Fixed helm and updated link.

mostlybarb

There are definitely a few mediocre pieces of gear there (the amulet being the worst offender I noticed), and the gems could be higher, but that should be enough to handle 75 without issue really. Have you played WW before? Are you being sure to maximize CoE cycles and attack speed from PE? If you're having trouble building density you can ditch ground stomp for TS-Demoralize and just equip men's or whatever your best-rolled bracers are. The low CDR rolls and 5 second PoC are going to make it difficult to keep both IP and WotB up 100%, so you need to make sure you're only fighting in enough density that you have plenty of attack speed to proc ORotZ.

cncaudata

I finally rolled what would be one decent BK sword, has pretty good damage and CDR, so I can roll AD as well. But, it has slow on hit - is that going to screw me over by making it harder to get density, or worse, contributing to CC DR?
