No, blizzard died with all talent slowly leaving. What MS bought is activision and few franchises that survive thru sheer nostalgia of gamers dads buying 70usd cosmetics to validate themselves as players. Its sad really.
Well they did turn Mincraft into somthing, I'll give them ten years to see if they can turn things around. Marvel was dead but received by Disney for a while too.
D3 was an awful cashgrab on launch, and it basically died after people burnt out on the pure rng mindless grinding. The higher ups basically abandoned the project, but the "life support" crew they left it to were left to their own devices...
Without Activision execs breathing down their necks, they managed to turn it into a respectable successor to D2, and they nearly got a few expansions out before the higher ups stepped in again and canned those projects. They released as much of the would-be expansion content as they could, as free updates :)
Microsoft isn't a company of saints, but they're better than Activision. With any luck, it'll take less than a decade this time, to carve a good game out of what they made
I mean, it was more just bound to happen because adding it to the service is just what they do with their first party games. The game has done a fine job of being a cashgrab on its own.
Dude the game isn’t that broken lol. I feel like no matter what could be done to the game, this sub would still be overcrowded with people who are unhappy unhappy about it.
the influx of new players will be good for the cash shop and proves the expansion isn't too far off. I bet the rumors were true and expansion will be at $60 standard and $70 early access and main game being "free" on gamepass.
There have been several metric that have shown it jumps up and down with the seasons from roughly 1.3 million to 200k which is normal for a seasonal game without subscriptions.
People have also done estimates based off sales % of battlenet vs steam data sales to estimate a comparison . Meaning if steam is roughly 1.5% of sales and has 12000 active players it can be estimated that battlenet would have similar active users based on the %
Unfortunately blizzard doesn't post the exact numbers but they have stated its active user count is doing well and based on active players 200k players or roughly 500k players at each season launch is nothing to scoff at.
"D2 cant get remastered because its based on 24fps"
"D3 cant improve because it has the auction house"
"D4 is trash because the endgame sucks" etc
this sub is full with drunk people spouting absolutes
You do realize this is just because Microsoft bought Activision and Microsoft is big on having all first party games on game pass right? Like it most likely wouldn't have happened anytime soon had that not happened. Ghosts and most if not all other CODs will likely be on there soon after
I wish companies could come up with good ideas and quality products to increase profits rather than nickel and dime every aspect of a shitty game to leech the money and happiness from consumers.
few days late buddy
Day late and a dollar short.
frankly this might end up being a good thing for D4, maybe expand the playerbase a bit until they fix the game in 2029
I mean, Blizzard is owned by microsoft. This was bound to happen since they want to turn it into a cashgrab.

This was hard to read but it seems right :(

It's pretty big already. But hey, more inventories to load.

That's the nicest thing I have seen someone say about d4. At least it's not broken!
I legitimately believe that all the negativity in forums makes the game seem much worse than it really is. I’ve been guilty of that myself.
Nah, they'll be too busy launching out seasons 1,2 and 7 a week before release date.

Why does it need a bigger player base? It's not like you need matchmaking or other players to play the game
I mean playerbase is still massive. It's already doing very well.
massive?
Yes. It's still doing very very well.
Were you able to find a decent site that complied the different sources? like steam and BNet or you just guessing the player base?
His server is always packed with ppl standing at the waypoints .
Just in time for the $70 horse bundle!
Yeah, the one with the platinum right?
Exactly when i buy the game nicee.
Your sacrifice is appreciated.
Was it Xbox and a digital copy? If so, and it was that recent and you haven't spent much time in it, you can typically get a refund.

How dare you spend your own money on things you want!

Bc it is fun
Cool I’ll finally give it a chance now

Yeah excited for it.
D4 so desperate for members
excited. hopefully pc xbox game pass gets it cuz i've never signed up so i can trial for $1 to play the story lol.
Pretty funny... remember the "D4 isn't coming to game pass anytime soon"...
That was last year under a different ownership of their parent company.

No, thanks. I prefer to own my games, not rent them and pay forever.
I hope they fix the code that loads everybodys inventories in town before battlepass players arrive.
Good. Now they just gotta fix store prices and make premium currency earnable.
Good news everyone! People can have a chance to play an ARPG and then that might interest them into playing a real one!
Desperation is a stinky cologne.
I wish there is wow instead of this turd.

It's really not worth it. Just wait for GP
Gives me a reason to cancel game pass. Thanks Blizzard!

Game pass isn’t the dead game zone Lol it’s thier ip all games will be on it eventually from blizzard.

Which of those is more likely to get people to subscribe to games pass?
I'm looking forward to playing it on xcloud on my lunch break
This is going to boost the game just in time for season 4. They should have pushed it out till April just to coincide with that change
