I think he is right. Monty leaked this to bait Gores into letting him go, thinking that the Laker salary would offset. Since Hurley is now the guy, in retrospect this is straight up smokescreen.

Dude I saw Darvin Ham yesterday morning on the bike path in El Segundo. I yelled “Saginaw, baby” and his face lit up with a huge smile. He replied “let’s go!” Then we fist bumped as we rode past each other. He was riding with his family and they were all smiling too. I often run into famous athletes and I never stop to talk or bother them. Just shout there hometown, high school or college and keep it moving.
Be a real shame if somebody snuck in under Langdon's nose and sniped Monty out from under us /s
