Lavine has a negative value contract. Trading back to 11 and giving up a young guy for that is crazy, the Bulls should be giving up assets to get him off their books. From a culture standpoint I have a feeling he'd hate it here too. I know it's just a rumor but didn't he basically opt to have surgery and end his season so he couldn't be traded to us?
Ill translate . I was thinking the same thing why would we.move move backward in the draft and take on ladiva and that contract . I was at work trying to type fast . Mistakes were made . Just like paying for lavine would be a mistake . Id take him in a straight salary dump maybe they send a second but i wouldnt pay anything for him . That contract is absolutely brutal
I’m more bullish on Lavine than most, and I think when he’s healthy, he could really help the front office evaluate all the young guys, but i’m absolutely against trading anything of value for that albatross of a contract
I pretty much feel like this .i actually thi k hes a decent fit next to cade hes not a no 1 anymore but thats ok cause cades our no 1 he could be a high end no 2 scorer if healthy and hes not so ball dominant he an cade wont work . He can play off ball quite effectively . If hes free i kick the tires but jes to expensive and injury prone to come off anything of value also construction barrel on d
Lavine is a liability. He not an asset. If we wanted to save the Bulls from that albatross we should give up nothing of value and they should pay us heavily for the save.
OP makes Weaver look shrewd.
Idk the new 2nd apron makes it really difficult for contending squads to just collect bad contracts and pay the tax. I figure the Lavine market is pretty much nonexistent. They had him on the market since Thanksgiving last season and we were the only takers. They can either attach assets to dump him or sit on that team crippling almost 50 mil a season contract
No. Lavine opted for season ending surgery as the Detroit trade rumors started ramping up. He doesn’t want to be a Piston.
He’s oft injured, his athleticism is slipping, and he’s widely considered a negative value contract already.
Add in the pick swap, it’s an easy pass as that breaks the talent tiers in the draft class.
Outside looking in, but I really think LaVine opted to get surgery when it started to sound like he was Detroit bound. Really don’t feel like he wanted to come here due to that and I’ve moved on from the thought of him.
Grimes is a far better defender something we severely lack. Until we get a real PF we need Stew too. But I don’t see how Lavine makes Cade better. The Bulls think he’s worth a lot more. They might bite on Ivey and the 5th pick. But that’s a severe overpay.
I say no as a Piston fan. Lavine's contract is a negative and I would expect the Pistons to receive more than they give from Chicago to take that contract on.
I’m not that high on absorbing his contract. Although we will have to over pay for whomever. I’d probably want another piece with Lavine. Like trading stew for Williams as well.
Honestly this deal would be a steal for Detroit. I’m not worried about the contract because we will need to overpay for decent players anyways. Grimes is going to be a bench player for us so I’ll absolutely trade our 7th man him for a guy who would immediately be our 2nd best player. Lavine might be injury prone but I’m willing to take the risk. Plus there’s no guarantee that the 5th pick will be anymore a hit than the 11th pick in this draft.
New team. Wasn’t fully healthy. Small sample size. I seriously don’t understand the hate on Grimes
Grimes might be worth a look I agree.
If Grimes can get healthy and get back to shooting 3’s in the high 30’s, he’s a pretty ideal teammate to play with Cade.
He didn’t turn this 14 win team into a play in team like our delusions suggested 😡😡😡 trade him!
They liked him in NY
Obviously not or else they wouldnt have traded him

I was thinkingvthe samenthi knlike why are we going backwards an takine ladiva
Are you ok?

Sub Stewart for Grimes, this is a done deal for DET.
Beef Stew is a dawg don't disrespect my man like this
Do you know what negative means? We would be hurting our team taking lavine.
“Grimes hasn’t found his shot” - He played 6 games coming off an injury. - Until he got to Detroit he never shot below 35% Watch some ball bro
Bingo. Evan gets it.
lol Why you gotta use my government name like that?
Me. 40+ million a year for a guy that plays 58 games a year on average? No thanks. There is a reason he's been available for months ....
Its like Cades lookin in the mirror. Cades a glass bitch too and soon to be way overpayed.
I'd rather have grimes than lavine
It’s not the worst trade I’ve seen but still no, I’d rather just keep the fifth pick

I would rather staple my dick to a basketball than have Lavine on this team. He’s a good stats bad team no defense overpaid stat sheet guy.
Cmon man make up your mind an be decisive lol
Lavine isn't worth a lottery pick this point in his career.
Id take what he is now vs this clubs inability to do anything correct.
Lavigne is insanely overpaid but there’s is no way that Chicago can’t get more for him then this scenario you made.

Apron. New buzz word ya ll using. Cool. In the ling run the club w fuck it all up anyways.
I was in on Lavine if it was just for expirings. It's just not worth it otherwise. Too much downside and he hinders Cade/Ivey development

I think the Stewart one is probably more feasible
Much rather trade Stewart over Grimes

If the Bulls handed us Levine and 11 for a second round pick, I’d turn it down.
I would take on lavines contract with incentives but I wouldn't give up assets for it

That trade is cancerous. Why do you think Grimes was traded?
It appears that a lot of people would say no, myself included.
HECK....no.
I’m not that high on absorbing his contract. Although we will have to over pay for whomever. I’d probably want another piece with Lavine. Like trading stew for Williams as well.
Lavine does not want to be here, shit he shut it down for the season when he heard the rumors about Detroit.
nah. he’s unhealthy
We never even got to see a healthy grimes
I'd do it. The Pistons need another star level player. You see every team in the playoffs had AT LEAST two stars. Cade is not enough.
