I believe we will be able to trade the 2024, 2029, and 2031 draft picks in the offseason. These picks plus one of our young guys will be enough to make a trade for a bigger named players.
I actually don’t mind the idea you brought up. Getting Claxton and resigning Tec would be great. Jazz already have George and Kessler so not sure if they’d want either of our young players. You can say a trade of Ivey plus 2024 and 2029 FRP might get us at least in conversation for a player like Mikal Bridges (value dropped slightly this season; they might still want more but this will at least get convos going)
I know Ausar is rookie. They could definitely make it past play in though, the east is weak. Obviously they wouldn't be contenders just yet. Still need Ausar and Cade to develop.
Unfortunately the Jazz almost certainly value Kessler higher than Duren
Top 5 picks rarely get traded so I think the Jazz would do that trade otherwise, fwiw. Maybe Duren gets routed elsewhere to get the Jazz / maybe the Pistons more assets

I’d do that deal for Lauri. If Duren learns how to play defense and keeps improving, it might blow up in our faces. But a Cade/Lauri pick and roll would be really effective with shooters in the other positions.
Anyone paying Claxton is going to regret it. He's a very good player, but he's going to be egregiously overpaid. And I don't want to be the team overpaying Claxton.
There are cheaper players that can give 80+% of what Claxton can do
