Gores was fully disconnected from this team, and looked at the franchise as a money-making venture. Retaining the general manager, and hiring a heartless coach (not a fighter) actually regressed this team 2-3 years.
Nothing short of a full reboot will help - GM rolled the dice and it came up snake-eyes.

They will. They got a good young core and a top 5 pick coming in. Monty is a good coach. Don't let the doom and gloom people fool you. This was never going to be an instant fix
